It seems we still don't have any 'unofficial' way of unlocking the Bootloader, right?
Having an H818p, this is bugging me. LG has no official support on this and apparently not even an official statement on why is that. Some people were stubbornly trying to do it with the LG tool only to throw the phone into a bootloop brick void, which is not something hard to do. This phone is already prone to just destroy itself for no apparent reason, imagine when tapping into some of that ****...

Is there any news on ANYONE working on a way to unlock the boodloader in an unofficial way so it can be reversible for the supported models AND available for the unsupported ones?

I might just start giving this some lower level research. Heck, the phone sucks. Might as well just brick it while trying to do some good out of it and then having an excuse to buy one from a decent company.

If you wanna start with that meet me in IRC on freenode chan #Carbon-Fusion ...

To answer your question no one is working on this anymore. I started some investigation shortly though but with nothing in mind bc never done that before.

Regarding the other question :

afaik LG has a clear statement regarding OEM phones. It's their (OEMs) part to offer an unlock or not. LG can provide this for the non OEM versions only. T-Mobile for example seems to participate..

Hello

I would like support with unlocking the LG G4 H815 bootloader.

I have a situation like a screencast.

By typing a command in the CMD:

* bootlader C: \ Users \ whitewolf1608 \ Desktop \ Tools

terminal corresponds to the message

Adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bath file.

Moving to a folder with the cd command in the terminal works, but the terminal still responds

message:

Adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bath file.

Hello, I don't know if you still need help but do you have a program in that folder called 'adb.exe'? If you don't, download this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-platform-tools-adb-fasbootdrivers-t3061441 .

Hello, thanks for the answer I currently have, I am struggling with this to upload firmware through
LG Flash Tool or LGUP. My LG currently only runs into the Firmeware Update mode. If you can support me in this topic on the forum.

Hello,
I'm glad that worked!:) I would recommend either Genisys or CyanogenMod.
Genisys: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/h815-genisys-rom-1-0-classic-v10g-t3192649
CyanogenMod/LineageOS: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/rom-cyanogenmod-13-0-t3243588
Make sure you choose the H815 variant. I wish you luck.:fingers-crossed:

Hello,
I am not really sure how much space they each take up but they have been debloated and optimised for performance or have been tweaked. I literally have just installed Genisys. I'll reply after I test it out. Also, while I'm here, what do you mean by 'Blocking the Bootloader'. It looks like you have unlocked it but I'm pretty sure you don't have to do anything else (I have done it myself).
P.S. That ROM you had linked has been discontinued. You can try to flash it but it could fail.
Edit: It has finished and I can say that is runs pretty smoothly. It is using 1.7GBs of Ram now compared to the 2.3 I was getting.

hi,
not sure if this is the right place to be asking this.
I have a h811 phone that is bootlooping.
I'd like to unlock the bootloader and flash the big_core_fix. The only thing is, I'm pretty sure it did not have OEM unlock checked in the settings
apparently has antirollback v3 and running some version of marshmellow.
can the bootloader be unlocked or what should my next steps be?
thanks.

Hello,
You can not unlock the bootloader while in a bootloop unless you had checked the OEM unlock. You can try to Factory Reset it but I am not sure if it will work. I am guessing you don't have TWRP or any other custom recovery.

Hello, have you tried to unlock the official method available through the LG Developer website?

Do you have a connection to Fastboot? Maybe You can check what bootloader status you have by fastboot? The console in the Windows operating system should tell you how much you have the status of the bootloader, whether it is blocked or unlocked. I suggest connecting with Fastboot and entering the command in the console checking the status of the bootloader. Insert the screenshots you received from the CMD console.
do I have an unlocked bootloader on Android - step by step

Do you want to check if the bootloader on your smartphone is already unlocked? Depending on the operator from whom we received the phone, our bootloader can be blocked or unlocked by default. See how you can check the status of your bootloader on most devices.

An unlocked bootloader is necessary to install another recovery mode (eg TWRP), to do root (in most cases), and to install custom software versions (eg CyanogenMod). We have written many times about how to unlock the bootloader, although this may not always be necessary. Some operators give us devices that have already unlocked bootloaders - sometimes it is a deliberate action, sometimes it may be a simple mistake or a "happy copy".

The matter is further complicated when we bought, for example, a used telephone on Allegro. In this case, we also do not know if the previous owner has not experimented with the phone and has already unlocked the bootloader for us. It is worth checking before we waste time unnecessarily, for example, by waiting two weeks for an unlock code from the manufacturer. So let's do it!

Method # 1 - Use the service menu
The simplest method, which does not require us to connect any telephone to the computer or install special software, is to enter the service code in the "Phone" application (dialing keypad). In the service menu, we find all kinds of information about our phone, including the current status of the bootloader and whether it can be unlocked at all.

Warning! The following method will show not only whether we have the bootloader unlocked, but also whether we can unlock it at all (when it is blocked). Some operators completely block bootloader unlocking, so it's worth checking before trying to unlock.

We run the "Telefon" application or any other "Dialer" that we use, and then enter the following code in it:

* # * # 7378423 # * # *

The black menu in English will appear on the screen. Go to the Service Info> Configuration tab. Various information will appear here - we are interested in one of the following items:

Bootloader Unlocked = Yes - means that the phone already has an unlocked bootloader and we do not have to re-unlock it

Bootloader unlock allowed = Yes - means that the phone has the ability to unlock the bootloader, but currently it is not unlocked

Bootloader unlock allowed = No - means that the operator completely blocked the possibility of unlocking and no code from the manufacturer will help us (this phone simply can not be unlocked)

Method # 2 - Use the computer and the Fastboot function

The second method is for people in whom the service menu is blocked. This is often the case when the phone is bought by ourselves in an audio / video shop or when it is imported eg from China - it is not "branded" by any operator and there is no information contained in the service menu. However, we can try to check the status of the bootloader by connecting the phone to the computer in Fastboot mode.

https://www.download.net.pl/1773193/minimal-adb-and-fastboot/

First, we need to install the ADB and Fastboot modules on the computer that will allow you to connect to the phone in a special mode. For this purpose, we collect the above package, which installs both functions very quickly.

We run the installer, and then install the program in the directory of our choice - by default it is the "Minimal ADB & Fastboot" folder in the "Program Files (x86)" directory. After installation, we have to run the command window directly in this folder - if in the Installer we left the "Launch Minimal ADB & Fastboot" option selected, the command window is already displayed and we can proceed further. However, if we closed this window and want to open it again, we enter the "Minimal ADB & Fastboot" directory, hold down the "Shift" key on the keyboard and right-click inside the folder. From the drop-down list, choose "Run command window here".

We already have a command window. Now we need to enable "USB debugging" on the phone (see how to enable programming options and USB debugging). When "USB debugging" is enabled, we connect the phone to the computer with a USB cable. If you're asked to allow a connection to your computer, click "Allow". Then enter the following command to enter the Fastboot mode on your phone:

adb reboot bootloader

The phone will be restarted to Fastboot / Bootloader mode. Already at this point, we can look at the screen of our phone and see if information about the bootloader is displayed. For example, for me in Honor 6 a green "Phone locked" message appears, which means that the bootloader is blocked. Check if you have similar information.

However, if there is no information about the bootloader status (only the Fastboot screen itself), then enter the next command in the command window on the computer:

fastboot oem device-info

fastboot reboot

The phone will exit the Fastboot mode and start up in the traditional way. We now know if we have an unlocked Android bootloader.

As you increase your internal memory with this trick, try to allocate more psmia and operational Ram. Through Ram Expander.

Hello, that you have used the expansion of the operating memory :) On this YouTube video, the guest shows the expansion of internal memory on the Android Nugat 7.0 operating system. However, I think that on Android Rom this feature will start :) I've given you a link to Ram Expander in the Pro version of the last version - test whether it is going to add a swap partition on This Android Rom - which are you currently testing?

As for the author of the story who wrote about the problem with the bootloader, I think that it is worth waiting for the results in the post. I gave you a guide on how to check the status of the bootloader.

Let's wait for the response of the author of that post.

Write me again, which Rom do you test?

Unfortunately it doesnt seem to be able to enter fastboot/bootloader menu. I can definitely NOT boot the phone to use the dialer either, nor check the settings... as its in a bootloop
I can only enter download mode/firmware updater by holding VOL+ and powering on.
Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately this will not work on this device.

Hello, I am waiting for links from a friend. As soon as I get in the message, I will post it in the post on the forum.

You have a similar situation to me lately. So I'll help you.
