Hello Everyone,

This is Hamza. I have H811 with v20o. I mistakenly flashed the Modem+Boot+Bootloader+Rom of V20i on my device and hard bricked it. My device was totally dead. No Charging/Notification light, No Download Mode, No Boot & No Recovery.

I spent more than 2 days in finding the solution and finally i found it.
Thread by By leptdre, was very helpful for me. But to make it simple the steps to complete unbricking are as follows:

Tools Required:
1. Card Reader+Data Cable
2. A SD Card - 32 GB or 64 GB. I used 64 GB
3. SD Card Formatter - Download Here - Link Updated
4. Win32DiskImager - Download Here - Link Updated
5. Original KDZ - Download Here
6. SystemImage Bin File - Download Here - Link Updated
7. LGUP Tool - Download Here

Steps to Unbrick:
1. Insert your memory card in Card Reader and Format it using Windows Format. While formatting "uncheck Quick Format" and Change Type to "exFat". You can alternatively use SD Card Formatter but make sure that the card is in exFat format.
2. Once format is completed, install Win32DiskImager and open it. Add SystemImage.bin file. If it does not show the bin file just rename SystemImage.bin to SystemImage.img and then select it. Select your memory card and Click Write.
(You can alternatively change the file types on the win32diskimage from .img to all types)

3. One the Write Completes. Eject Card and insert in your LG G4 H811. Press Volume Up Button while connecting the USB Cable.
4. There you go, it will open the download mode. Now Open LGUP Tool as admin. It will show the device as connected. Select the Original KDZ Firmware and Click Start. it will complete and your Mobile will reboot.
5. Now its Done. Enjoy!

Note: I tried it on my H811 and cannot confirm whether it will work on your device or other variant. I am just sharing to help others
.

It says you need the decryption key for the bin file download? Also you dont have to change the file ext, just change the file types on the win32diskimage from .img to all types.

I'd love for this to work, but no luck. I'm helping out a friend that was running xTreme. I think TMO forced the update before we could block it again. Now I can't boot to alter the Build.prop to use LGUP.

Yes, I can boot to download mode, but LGUP says unknown model. I'd rather not wipe the device if I don't have to.
Then this guide is not for you. This guide is for those that was hard bricked and wont turn on at all (aka qualcomm 9001). Basically, the main internal memory is corrupted so it wont turn on the phone. What this guide does is that it makes your phone run from the external mmc, so you could go into download mode just long enough to put in a working kdz. In your case, it's just as good as doing a factory reset.

OK, I misinterpreted the steps. I was assuming that it would boot from ext by default with this process and bypass the internal. I guess it's only a fall back after internal boot failure.

I need help please.

I have a H811 T-mobile LG G4. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP, flashed MM-20e Global rom which is ported rom from H815 20e. Everything worked well untill I deciced to relock the bootloader! I have issued a command fastboot oem lock and the device began to bootloop. "Secure Booting Error, Error Code 1003, MODIFIED".

I Have tried LG Bridge but it says "Can't check internal storage".
I Have tried LGUP with several kdz files including H81120o but it says "Invalid kdz file"
I have tried LG Flash tool and nothing works.

Your help would be highly appreciated.

LGUP is showing: H81520e

and that's why I'm kind of confused. My device is actually H811 but I have rooted and flashed twrp after and flashed MM H81520e Global ported rom (to get rid of tmobile apps). Everything was working perfectly until I fastboot oem relock -ed it.

I tried H81520e kdz also but same error occurs. "Invalid kdz file".

Is there any way I can get into recovery? or is it possible to flash stock recovery from "download mode" ?

You can actually work that out through Download Mode.
Enter Download Mode, Install TWRP through ADB. Once its installed, you will be able to install the flashable stock rom for H811 . I think that would work!

Also have you tried LG Flash Tool?

Note: Make sure to download the right version for H811 (v20i or v20o) and installing the wrong one will hardbrick your device.

I have done everything according to OP. My phone now boots a custom ROM I flashed through TWRP and all is working well as long as I keep SD card in phone. I am stuck from there because I can't flash stock 20i kdz. I get to 9% and it gives error and reboots the phone. Can someone helpbme out? Thanks

Are you downgrading from v20o to v20i?

I think that is the problem. Did you formatted as per mentioned instructions?
Yes, there is an option in My Computer that allows me to get in the sd card( F: ) and not the phone storage itself which is ( H: ). I formatted it as instructed using ( F: ). I'm thinking about purchasing a micro sd to sd adaptor and attempt it again.

In Device Manager I get "Relink hs-usb qdloader 9008" Instead of Qualcomm. Maybe that's another issue?
