Having issues getting the BL unlocked it seems. I can't get any of my computers to recognise the device. Whenever I input adb devices, I get nothing. Computer seems to detect my Huawei though, so weird.

It's 3:30 a.m., idk if it's worth losing sleep over at this point damnit.

Edit: derp. You need to have LG's PC Suite installed in order for your computer to detect it, buh. Time to continue with the process.

Edit #2: Getting an issue from their website after inputting the correct information. I keep getting "not found suffix".

Assuming it's a website error, will try again tomorrow I guess.
I get the same error. Tried multiple browsers. I suspect it's the phone we have. I have the 815 but it's the Taiwan model, not from the EU. What one do you have?

Not even sure really. Got mine from an eBay seller located in Singapore, which is disappointing since we still have H815's, it should work.

According to LG : the camera will not be affected by unlocking the bootloader:

"Hello,

LG devices have a fully optimized, certified and tested version of Android, and unlocking the bootloader will change the software. For more information, please refer to the below page:
http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryTypeCode=ANRS

In case of the camera feature, there is no effect on it.
Camera applications operate in the same manner regardless of bootloader lock status.

Thank you. "

Hopefully this statement is correct.

So what will be changed then?... I think those statements are made to scare people off.

Just unlocked and rooted, yay..! The hardest part of the whole process was not having a heart attack when I saw the e-mail from LG. Are they intentionally trolling, having it titled "Unlock Key Issue" ? I thought there was an issue with my unlock key :silly:

(on a more serious note, I did the unlocking on linux, if anyone has trouble connecting the adb server, I got it to work by changing the connection protocol from mtp to ptp, and then my G4 showed up on my adb devices list)

What about fastboot? I'm stuck on "waiting for device" when using fastboot on Linux. ADB worked fine though after changing to PTP.

edit: whoops, just a Linux permissions issue. Working fine now. I wasn't in the right group.

Flashing TWRP doesn't seem to work successfully from my Mac. I can reboot into (my unlocked) bootloader, fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and then I get a success message.

But when I reboot and use adb to get to recovery, I just get the Android with a red triangle. Rubbish. Any ideas?
If you still have this issue, I got it to stick with fastboot on a Linux computer. I guess a different version of fastboot.

Help guys, trying to unlock my bootlpader and when i submit my device ID and imei it says “no found suffix“. what is that?

Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
I get that too, and a few others. I suspect it's because it only works for the EU 815. I have the 815 from Asia (Taiwan) so I suspect that's why it doesn;t work yet.

I also get the Not Found Suffix error on the LG Developer site and i have the LG G4 model Number LG-H815. This is driving me nuts. Come on LG get with it. Please if anyone figures this out DM me.

It's because you're isn't an EU 815. The site specifically says it's only for this model currently.
