lol... The outrage...

I have a co-worker who dropped her s7 edge off her lap onto carpet (commercial hard pile) and it cracked the screen. This was from maybe 18-24".. So this just shows how with the wrong series of events any device can shatter.

Personally I always use a case. Normally a Spigen Neo Hybrid, but will sometimes swap out to a slim clamshell type case. I in the course of 5 minutes dropped my g5 3 times with a thin hard plastic clamshell case on it (Ringke [SLIM] Snug-Fit) and its fine. With the much better protection given by the Neo Hybrid I am pretty confident that the 5' drops from the video the g5 would of been fine.

Glass over cameras more fragile than screen glass

I recently acquired a VS987 (Verizon LG G5), as a replacement for a VS985 that failed while under warranty. A few days after getting the VS987, I accidentally dropped it a couple of feet onto carpet. The screen survived without damage, but the glass pane over the back camera closer to the volume controls broke in a spiderweb pattern. Fortunately, the piece of glass at the center, over the actual lens, fell out, so I can still take pictures. Evidently they didn't use the break-resistant glass on the camera lens cover.
