LG G5 reviews

Pardon my ignorance, are you saying that this was link baiting on the part of Android Police or LG?

I have been wrestling with G5 vs. S7 vs. S7E for the past few days. Just got the iphone 6S plus and love a lot about it, but Siri is so bad it hurts and I miss Google now.

One thing people haven't talked about much is the price. I'm looking at 2-year installment and it'll cost me $24/month for G5 and $31.25/month for S7E. That's $174 difference, or roughly a basic Netflix subscription every month. Or most of the way to a Spotify subscription. So if they cost the same but one came with free Spotify, would that make people like it more? (It's super easy to dismiss the cost difference when spread over 24 months—that's how I wound up grabbing the 6S plus!—but I'm trying to think carefully here.)

Also, mine will be in a case so I'm not as concerned about many of the design complaints.

I've put my 3rd s7 edge attempt on hold, waiting for this phone - the M10 I am not interested in unfortunately.
I am disappointed to hear about light leak more than anything else.
I'll go with the samsung - I'd rather deal with slight RAM management, and maybe a but of tint - but light bleed annoys me immensely. :(

How often do you plan to look at a completely black screen on full brightness?
As far as I have seen there is no backlight bleed in real use and many have praised the blacks (for an Lcd)

Don't even go there :( letterbox movies shows it and it also shows during use if dark colors. I have been burnt by it in the past by Samsungs note tablet and I know. The Z series has minimal light bleed. LG should take a hint.

Ok, after two days of ownership, here is my quick take on the phone. Now, I also own the Nexus 6P and the Galaxy S7 Edge, so comparisons will be included.
First, I have owned the G4 and V10 --- and wasn't a fan of either as I felt they were slow and laggy. But I kept an open mind and decided to try LG once again (I did own the LG Nexus 5 at one time and thought it was good except for battery life and lackluster camera).

So, with that being said, here we go:

Initially, I was skeptical of the size of the phone since I tend to like a larger screen size but I honestly like it and find it comfortable to hold. Pleasantly surprised.
The screen is VERY bright and nice but I think Samsung has it beat: colors appear richer and lush on Edge while the screen seems "flat" on the LG.
Software has NO lag this time around which I found refreshing but the UI still seems a bit dated: teal, really? Not bad mind you, just not overly attractive. True, I think it is lighter than TouchWiz, but Samsung has dialed that down now and it honestly is usable and my dislike has diminished. Though the LG is FAST, I find the Edge to be blazing fast: things just respond much faster.
Camera: both (as well as Nexus 6P) are excellent cameras but I give Samsung the edge. The LG did stutter a few times in autofocus while the Samsung is instantaneous. Furthermore, I find the pictures richer and having more depth than the LG as the LG pics almost border on blown out and overexposed, especially in low light situations. They appear "flat" vs the Samsung's rich detail and contrast. Again, I think both cams are excellent but Samsung has the upper hand. I have not tested video yet.
Build quality is where LG falls down: that slight gap between the chassis and module is troubling and since I have no interest in any module, I would think any repeated removals would make that gap worse. Moreover, I have enough to lug around, do I really need modules?
Battery life is noticeably better on Samsung. True, LG has a removeable battery but again, why do I want to carry around more accessories? It holds its own when in doze/sleep, but as soon as I begin to "use" the phone such as texting, emails, etc. the battery level drops VERY quickly. I can almost watch it drop 1 percentage point at a time. Not confidence inspiring.

These are my thoughts after 2 days of ownership and though I can say I "like" the phone, I just don't feel it has a wow factor. In fact, I am under the impression it will be difficult marketing this phone to new buyers. It is pleasant but not an earth shaker nor does it have an overly premium feel to it.

Not sure it is a keeper at this point compared to the competition.

And the bad implementation of the modules as well. Watch the video.

I've only seen the written review xD
And that part it's pretty criticable, because, which is a good and possible implementation of modules?
This being said the phone works also without the need to change modules.

True. But reviews are meant to scrutinize and that's what they did.
