LG G5 reviews

I was really looking forward to getting one of the G5's but with these problems it's not likely. I can't believe they can introduce a phone that has the modularity and they don't ship any of the modules. The first reviewers talked about the screen color and problems with bleed but nothing from LG about it. The one saving grace is that it is possible to buy a totally unlocked G5 from B&H without contract. I love the camera's and the replaceable battery. Hopefully the V 11 will use a wide-angle camera. By September we might be able to buy the G5 for $300 or less which makes it much more desirable than the $800 GS7. It's still a very good phone just got the crap kicked out of it by Samsung.

Well it does seem the first early batched released had some build issues, but none of my friends G5's who got them yesterday or day before have any issues. In fact, the all love the phone a lot. The CamPlus and HiFi Dac are out next week (in UK) followed shortly afterwards by the 360 cam. The lack of official accessories is no different to any manufacturer launch. I have the S7 Edge too. I want the official Samsung Lens Cover, Leather Cover case and none are available still.

I really think many of the YouTube videos were harsh but the reality is a different story. Will the price drop, for sure. But all android phones drop in price as there are so many new phones being released.

It's great to hear that the phone is being received in better condition than here in the United States. Maybe LG decided to dump all the beta units on us. I've heard rumors from some reviewers that the hi-fi DAC is an even going to be introduced to the United States which I find ridiculous. My point was that this being a new concept phone I thought it was important to have the friends available with the phones just for PR reasons. Not one of the reviewers has been able to comment on the hi-fi DAC and how it sounds. Personally the removable battery and the wide-angle camera are enough to make me buy this phone. The screen bleed and color like I said before is something that I don't want to live with, to the UK phones have the screen bleed or has it been corrected?

I think T-Mobile got a load of early batches for sure. I haven't seen any new retail versions with problems here. Not great for early adopters at all, but these things happen, and I have had first release phones from all companies have issues in the past.

The DAC is coming to the US. Incorrect info is being bantered around.

I think you might be right, I just went over to AT&T to look at the LG G5 and it looks perfect. The screen is bright and neutral, there is no bleeding of any kind. It's fast and easy to use. The wide-angle camera is amazing. Definitely looking better and better. Personally I'm waiting for some promotions from LG like a battery and database for the phone. Would love to have the DAC but seems there's no news yet on whether it's going to be here in the US. I suppose I could always buy it from Britain.

Just picked up an H831 from Bell here in Canada about 5 hrs ago. No issues whatsoever.

This is very good news. I can't wait to return this Galaxy S7 Edge - it's very disappointing. I really think Samsung pays Youtubers. The screen is FAR too saturated - Greens and oranges are out of wack! The camera is FAR WORSE than the G4 in EVERY situation except for low lights, as you can see:

But look at these other pictures I took.

Clear winner in my eyes.

FCC approval pending. On the AC podcast the impression created was any module made to work with the G5 requires it.

Need to verify that any time a module is added that it does not affect or otherwise change radio characteristics than when there is none.

Good comparisons mate. I agree the G4 and G5 is far, far better. I had the S7 too, and I really didn't think much of it at all.

Picked up the g5 yesterday from Verizon.. Will be honest I haven't had that initial kid in a candy store or new toy excitment for a phone since my original droid and didn't here. There isn't anything really new that they do its just better and or faster. Reviews are meant to point out the good and the bad alike without bias with the latter not always possible. This is my feedback and opinion.... Its been a few devices since I was able to opperate with one hand this phone feels great in hand while still having a sizable screen. Why people like to point out that your not touching metal humors me... Most people throw a case on their device which makes sense your not investing in a toy from the dollar store. I looked at four devices prior to picking out the one I left with. They all had the bleed in the lower right corner and all but this unit in other spots. In don't do anything routinely on my phone that makes this issue prevalent. Only one of the four had issue with gaps where the bottom attached and it was minimal but I would have noticed it every day. Camera is fantastic on par with all the other phones out there right now. Battery size isn't a deal breaker for me knowing if I am able to swap out the batery is. As long as the batery last as much as other comparable phones this feature has more value to me. I have owned devices that didn't have removable batteries and their use was short lived. People have different specifications they put value in and that will inevitably lead to their descision. I am very happy with my purchase and think for me this device ticks all of my boxes.

Well, I have to say at least I am impressed with your persistence. I am a bit surprised the store manager let you do this!

But the widely reported QC issues do demand oversight.
I will admit I shouldn't have had to do it but given recent comments and experiences from others felt the need. Regardless of how much I want something I am still spending my $$$.

Only thing I would like lg to consider is if they stick with a modular design in the next itteration is a system batery smal just enough to power the device while swapping the battery. Not that powering on the device takes long but not having to do it would be awesome.

Hey guys! I wrote up a review on my site here, I'd be honored if anyone would give any constructive criticism or tell me if I'm on the right track of reviewing. No one pays me, no one asked me to do this. Tech is my hobby and I love it! So I thought I'd share my opinion about it for those who want to read it.

Thanks and Enjoy! :)
