Overall, G5 is a much better device.

Mi 5 is a good budget phone, but has many flaws.
It might be somehow relative point of view, i have been using both devices with same apps running on both and to be honest i use the Mi5 in a heavier way as the G5 screen gets super warm if used for same or less period of time.

As for now Mi5 running the MIUI8 and super fast still and running flawlessly, and my G5 as shown in the attached pic has a dead screen. I would say that the G5 here had the flaw :)

Wow.

Overall, G5 is still a better device. Better main camera, wide angle camera, better speakers, microSD slot and removable battery. In addition, you can use the hifi plus add on, if you want it.

Which version is your G5?

I've been told that the H850 and the H860 are less problematic.

I have the H830, the T-Mobile version. Before this screen damage, battery was a total killer, 6-8 hours then needs to be charged, not the mention the overheating of the display ( automatic brightness) when using the phone for some time. To be honest from my consumer point of view, this LG G5 was not worth the money. That's still my personal experience and POV.

I also have used these 2 devices and I have to say that for me the MI5 is the better device. It is very fast on Miui 8 Global beta and battery life is also good, better than on the g5. And it gets quite hot, even while doing normal stuff. But overall the G5 isn't bad.

Also think that 1+3 and MI 5 are faster phones than G5.

But overall supposes everything, so G5's camera and speakers are clearly better than the competitors.

Overall fun with LG, i contacted Lg USA customer service regarding my dead display, and they told me that warranty is void because i purchased the phone over ebay and they will charge me money for the repair. Come on LG, even if i bought the phone from a grocery store what does it matter, it was brand new and didn't survive for 4 months, this is their reputation here.

And this phone being a fully paid T-Mobile phone, i couldn't even find a way to email T-Mobile regarding this issue, as i am not a t-mobile user and i don't have t-mobile.

This is really all on you. That's same as buying banned playstation 4 and then grieving at ps support for not unbanning it. You can't really know what was done with that phone before.

Most phones on market have flaws, there isn't a perfect phone on the market. You make think it is perfect but others may flaws. It is the intended use which is important, as an example if you can't live without a top notch camera in a phone then you look no further than Galaxy S7.

Mi 5 is a top value for your bucks. If LG G5 and Mi 5 were both same price then I would probably go for the LG. The problem is that LG costs a lot more. Yes it does come with other goodies but are those important to everyone?

Mi5 is an ok phone which heats and breaks quite quickly. I prefer the Redmi series or the Mi Note Pro series. I don't really see a reason to compare the mi5 to the G5.. They both have 5 in the model. There are many sd820 devices on the market and some are cheaper than the xiaomi. G5 has much better build , better screen , MUCH better camera and other features. There are many other phones to consider if you dont have to have the best camera etc.. My reason to get the G5 is the camera. I couldn't care less for the sd820. My LG G2 was fast enough. I got the G5 for the camera. If camera wasn't thw most important thing to me, I would take the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro for 170$.
