Yes we can go in the bootloader

is there a button comand that could get us directly in fastboot so i can play with different kernels without brickin the phone?
or any other way of flashing the kernel without bricking the phone?

edit: teoreticaly: if i flash a custom boot.img in the bootloader if it doesnt work i can aways reboot in recovery and then issue fastboot reboot-bootloader and reflash the stock kernel?

tried flashing the boot.img through the bootleader, didnt worked ... the boot partition is locaked too same as the recovery...
i think the only way to make some custom roms/kernels for our phone is to BUG the LG supoort to unlock our recovery/boot

Lets see maybe we have luck...the guys over at the L7 forum did the same, and LG promissed they will unlock it for them

hmm this gives us hope then. But I still won't bet all my coins on LG unlocking it just like this.
I mean, if they lock it at firstplace, probably they wanted people not to mess around with it, no?

Hey guys I have a LG OPTIMUS LG E612 model i have successfully rooted with no problems using the method at start of this forum, now
am wondering if anyone has tested or tried to install the L3 CWM image to get clockworkmod recovery, am also hoping LG will unlock the secure boot as I had the same issue when I first got the phone and played around with it, but was able to fix it with kdz updater.

Hope eventually we get an interest for a cyanogenmod rom to be developed.

    L5_E612 Rooted Successfully!!!!

Hello guys I finally rooted my phone and here are the steps originally from Russian forum 4pda.ru..

    Thanks to Shvandiura (of 4pda.ru)

    And here the steps..

    Root for LG l5 E612

    1. Download the archive and unpack it (create a folder on desktop named L5_root or whatever you like): Root kit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1271318&d=1345457528..

2.Download "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk" attached below and copy to root of your phone (internal storage)

    3. On the phone in the "Options -> Security" enable "Unknown sources"
In the "For Developers" enable "Debug on USB"

    4. Install "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk"

    5. Then open the installed "SystemBackupTest" and not closing

    [GUIDE] Flash Stock Firmware

I am not sure if this has been posted before here.
But I am posting, do comment if you find it helpful.

Credit goes to the website: hackmyandroid.com

    Steps:

    1. Download LG Optimus l5 USB Driver for Windows | Mac.

    2. Download official LG Optimus l5 stock firmware from this page. The file would be a .kdz file. Download the appropriate firmware according to your network provider and country.

    3. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer.

    4. The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it as an administrator and restart your PC. This will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue mentioned in a comment below.

    5. The next step is to put your phone into emergency mode. To do this, remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button. So now, you must be pressing all three buttons together.

    6. Your phone will boot into emergency mode and you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it.
Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    7. Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    8. Run KDZ updater as Administrator.

    9. Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 3. See the image below,

    Root-LG-P350-LG-Update.png

    10. Re-check with the image above and ensure that you have the appropriate settings on the KDZ updater.

    11. click on “Launch Software Update” button.

    12. This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on your phone.

    13. If everything goes well, you will see “Finished” written in the log screen and your phone will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.

    14. The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. Stay Cool! its normal.
