hmm this gives us hope then. But I still won't bet all my coins on LG unlocking it just like this.
I mean, if they lock it at firstplace, probably they wanted people not to mess around with it, no?

I am afraid they're hiding something bad!
probably any an ugly coding...b

HELP

HELP PLS

Accidently bricked my LG Optimus L5 E612, comes up saying security warning can only go into fastboot or adb, kdz updater and pc suite will not recognise the phone.

I have the ics stock rom download that is available on the first page of this forum but it is a flashable zip is there any way i could flash this or atleast convert the 'system' contents of the zip to a img file which i can easily flash in fastboot mode.

I have original v10c_00.kdz firmware extracted using LGEXTRACT and DZEXTRACT but theres is no system.img file only:

armss.bin
boot.img
boot_logo.bin
emmc_appsboot.bin
oemsbl.bin
partion,bin
persist.img.ext4
qcsbl.mbn
qcsblhd_cfgdata.mbn
recovery.img
system.img.ext4_0
system.img.ext4_1
system.img.ext4_2
system.img.ext4_3
system.img.ext4_4
system.img.ext4_5
system.img.ext4_6

i have taken the boot.img and recovery.img to save for flashing but i need a system.img or is there a way to convert the flashable zip to a img or create the system img out of the ext4_ files

Please someone help me

*EDIT* managed to restore the phone by taking the first system.img.ext4_0 flash using fastboot mode, to get into fastboot incase anyone is interested, i held down vol+ and power to turn on the phone when the soft keys light up i released the keys and held both vol- and home key then came up with a image on the screen with usb cables on the picutre, i then found out by running adb devices this was in adb recovery mode used the adb reboot-bootloader command which booted the phone into fastboot I was then able to successfuly flash the system.img.ext4_0 file which allowed the phone to boot up into android, some files were missing but this allowed me to successfully use kdz updater to install the lastest firmware back.

Now i know I can always restore this phone, but cannot wait for a custom rom to be developed

This is what i got from LG support:

Thank you for your interest about our mobile phone.

“We received your request on LG Open Source Code Distribution site(http://opensource.lge.com). This site is just for providing source codes of FOSS(Free and Open Source Software) we have used in our product.”

We already delivered your request to relevant department and we are still waiting for response from the department. They are looking for a more efficient and safe method to unlock bootloader We regret to inform you that It’ll take more time.

Silent Camera

Stock Silent Camera
I really hate the shutter sound of the camera, so i decided to rip it off.
Shutter files are located in the CameraApp.apk under the "raw" folder, just delete or replace with a mute ogg

If don't know how to make it just download this modified CameraApp.apk : h_ttps://rapidshare.com/files/3882322051/CameraApp.apk

What u need:
- root
- "GE Gestore File" (dunno in englesh if it has the same name...) , anyway just use a file root explorer
- Modified CamereApp.apk

Noob Walktrough:
1) Install and run Es Gestore File :
tap menù -> setting -> Root option:
enable: browse as root, go to root, mount system

2) Create a backup copy of CameraApp.apk :

Go to /system/app find CameraApp.apk and rename in CameraApp.bak

3) Download my modded camera:

h_ttps://rapidshare.com/files/3882322051/CameraApp.apk

4) Load modded camera on the phone:
Load moddede CameraApp.apk in the micro sd with a pc.
Run ES Gestore File on the phone, go to /sdcard/external_sd and copy CameraApp.apk
Now go to /system/app and paste the file.

5) give back the privilege settings to cameraapp
In ES Gestore File go to /system/app , hold CameraApp.apk
In the menù that pops up go to Property
Now tap Change and add "Owner-Execution"

6) Now in the camera set shutter tone n° 3 (the only shutter tone that il mute)
i've also muted the start and stop sound of the movie rec mode.
i've also muted the continuos shot shutter sound

R) if you want to restore the old camera just delete cameraapp.apk anche rename back cameraapp.bak in cameraapp.apk

Ps: i'm new to the forum so i cant post any external link, that why u'll need to paste in the browser bar and correct
PSS: i'm not responsable for software or hardware damages for this mod

I got the same exact message from LG. I think it's just a kind of automatic response, as the people from the L7 also got the very same.
Sitting, waiting, wishing now.

Wow that kinda :banghead:
I wonder how much time they gonna take to unlock the bootloaders

Sent from my LG-E610 using xda app-developers app

Yeah. Maybe if we keep on pressuring them from time to time, they won't just play as they forgot to unlock it, and might even consider unlocking it seriously.
I'm gonna send them more emails, with other usernames, maybe once or twice every week hehe who knows it might work

i send an email too, but in my experience i've never ever had a positive response, already flooded lg with email for tv aspect ratio issue, for subtitles black borders in bd player, and now for phone.

Using the "build" tab in the "Tweaks" section of SystemTunerPro I get the name iamjihoon.kim under the ro.build.user line. Probably the name of the one doing the final compilation of the 4.0.3 july 25 firmware. My phone is an E610/E612(f) with V10f firmware, if it helps.

    [GUIDE] Flash Stock Firmware

I am not sure if this has been posted before here.
But I am posting, do comment if you find it helpful.

Credit goes to the website: hackmyandroid.com

    Steps:

    1. Download LG Optimus l5 USB Driver for Windows | Mac.

    2. Download official LG Optimus l5 stock firmware from this page. The file would be a .kdz file. Download the appropriate firmware according to your network provider and country.

    3. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer.

    4. The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it as an administrator and restart your PC. This will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue mentioned in a comment below.

    5. The next step is to put your phone into emergency mode. To do this, remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button. So now, you must be pressing all three buttons together.

    6. Your phone will boot into emergency mode and you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it.
Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    7. Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    8. Run KDZ updater as Administrator.

    9. Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 3. See the image below,

    Root-LG-P350-LG-Update.png

    10. Re-check with the image above and ensure that you have the appropriate settings on the KDZ updater.

    11. click on “Launch Software Update” button.

    12. This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on your phone.

    13. If everything goes well, you will see “Finished” written in the log screen and your phone will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.

    14. The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. Stay Cool! its normal.
