Guys, please help me! I have trouble with my LG E612 (Vietnam).... My date&time sometimes goes wrong. once per 2 weeks or once per month, like today, it happened again... I can't tell how exactly my problem to the technician at warranty center. Because they can't see the time goes wrong when I bring it to them. So

1) Anyone had the same problem?
2) Can I use stock ROM of LG E610 to upgrade my phone? As I use KDZ to upgrade ROM from UK to my other phone LG E400

I have had a similar problem with my LG E612 (Australia) every time I turn off my phone or restart it my timezone gets changed, I have to go in and change it manually which really shouldnt have to do have never had that problem on any other android phones I have had in the past. Using the latest only available firmware for Australia V10C Boost.

L5 multitasking speed

My L5 with stock ROM is awfully slow when changing apps. Multitasking sucks. Is it the same for your L5's?
It has like 400MB of available RAM and I it's always using the most of it (which I think is normal, since is the way Android enviroment is used like), nevertheless, app changing is quite slow. Sometimes when I press the home button, it would take about 8 seconds to fully load Go Launcher (happens the same with stock home screen app). It almost never keeps applications paused in background as it requires more Ram to launch the front application, thus it destroys every app that goes to the background.

Is a custom ROM going to solve this problem?

Does any one else have problems to share the 3G internet connection via Bluetooth?
I just can't do it. I used to do it with my older phone, an Samsung Galaxy Europe.
I just want to share via bluetooth the 3G with my Tablet... Wi-fi Thethering is just not energy friendly, it will drain more battery.

Does any one knows an app that take over control of bluetooth? I bet this limitation was implemented by my celphone carrier. Tecnically it is ilegal to share your internet connection in here =/

Somebody using Tasker on this phone?
I tried setting up so it turns into silent mode from 10pm to 8am, but it still makes sound. I wanna put it to only vibration, either on call or notification.

Did anyone try to change the DPI of the e610? Just got it for a work phone but the DPI is huge.
Tried to change it to 144 which looks better and the lock screen is half and the notification bar is half. But on 150 the lockscreen is still smaller, but the notification bar is good.

Anyone knows how to get that lockscreen fixed? Looks like it's the default launcher app which has the fixed widths...

EDIT: Just installed V10H (UK kdz) on my Dutch LG L5 E160 and works smoother as the V10E, could install it, with kdz updater and didn't wipe the phone. :) Root I got with the russian method, first the SystemBackupTest app and then 04xr's method.

For me it looks good even on 144 :p Maybe it is because i completly removed some stock apps and installed some from my own choice. Lock screen have some brighter belt on right side but i didnt find anything else.

Hi guys I have a problem.

Let's start from begining.
I rooted L5 and i was want to install thoose test cwm builds.
All was fine, I mean "secure boot" error showes up.
Then I want to instal cwm with "Rom Manager" Phone hangs and i pull over batery.
Then after power it one phone just hang at LG logo.

I am able to enter fastboot mode naighter adb too.

I was traied to extract our system.img from kdz with succed but the file is too large for fastboot (~500mb)
So I read again whoole thread and find similar problem and sollution. But...
I extract kdz to cab and cab to dz with "dzextract.exe" and get "system.img.ext4_0".
i was tryied to flash it with or without -w and in other order combination with no succed.
Still LG logo is displayed.

PC can't recognice it diffrent than "ADB Single Sonar interface" or sth like that.
KDZ didn't see phone in any case.
LG's Update Utilyty cant recognize it too. Neighter in software resurection mode.

I cant push system with adb because I cant remount system. Strange.
I have some knowadle about android. I was compilling my own, flashing and editing.
All my previous devices was able to get back from that "brick" witch is no actually brick xD.

So there is my questions:
Is you guys know any idea to unbrick it?
Is there any way to "slim" system.img that I can flash it via fastboot?
Any oder ideas?

    L5_E612 Rooted Successfully!!!!

Hello guys I finally rooted my phone and here are the steps originally from Russian forum 4pda.ru..

    Thanks to Shvandiura (of 4pda.ru)

    And here the steps..

    Root for LG l5 E612

    1. Download the archive and unpack it (create a folder on desktop named L5_root or whatever you like): Root kit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1271318&d=1345457528..

2.Download "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk" attached below and copy to root of your phone (internal storage)

    3. On the phone in the "Options -> Security" enable "Unknown sources"
In the "For Developers" enable "Debug on USB"

    4. Install "IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk"

    5. Then open the installed "SystemBackupTest" and not closing
Hold down the power button and reboot the device.

    6. When phone completely rebooted connect your phone to your computer via USB (note: must be charge only option)

    7. In the folder you've created (L5_root) «o4xr» run the file «root.bat»,
wait until the script is executed and the phone will reboot.

8.Then on the phone, open the Google Play Store and you will find "SuperSU"
Upgrade "SuperSU", and then open the program asks updates ... Click OK, to

    [GUIDE] Flash Stock Firmware

I am not sure if this has been posted before here.
But I am posting, do comment if you find it helpful.

Credit goes to the website: hackmyandroid.com

    Steps:

    1. Download LG Optimus l5 USB Driver for Windows | Mac.

    2. Download official LG Optimus l5 stock firmware from this page. The file would be a .kdz file. Download the appropriate firmware according to your network provider and country.

    3. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer.

    4. The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it as an administrator and restart your PC. This will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue mentioned in a comment below.

    5. The next step is to put your phone into emergency mode. To do this, remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button. So now, you must be pressing all three buttons together.

    6. Your phone will boot into emergency mode and you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it.
Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    7. Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.

    8. Run KDZ updater as Administrator.

    9. Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 3. See the image below,

    Root-LG-P350-LG-Update.png

    10. Re-check with the image above and ensure that you have the appropriate settings on the KDZ updater.

    11. click on “Launch Software Update” button.

    12. This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on your phone.

    13. If everything goes well, you will see “Finished” written in the log screen and your phone will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.

    14. The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. Stay Cool! its normal.
