Kikat for lg p690?

Sent from my Tapatalk 2
Well I don't think we might see any kitkat roms for this phone because when tried building for the CM10.1 for the p690 there were heaps of errors but when it did build it didn't boot at all.
Even then there might be a chance for you guys because markolino is coming back into the game but I don't think he would build for your phone.

KitKat Theme

Can anyone post/make a simple kitkat theme for cm7. Just theming it to be white/grey will do. Just remove blue and make it white, and changing the icon pack ( if possible ). Other fancy stuff like the gradient or transparent statusbar can be done later. A theme please, and not a rom.
Designed for the cm7 themechooser. This is on behalf of all LG P690 cm7 users begging for a theme :crying:

Can this phone be unlocked for all carriers? I keep searching but the word "unlock" is too common.

My phone is rooted, but I want to change carriers. There must be instructions on unlocking the phone for all carriers somewhere?

Please help quickly.

How to uninstall TeleNav GPS Navigator app

I have an LG Optimus Net p690, rooted, CWM installed with Bell Mobility in Canada. I've removed as much of the bloatware as possible by going to the /system/app/ directory and renaming apps from .apk to .apk.bak. and this is working for all the apps but one. I still have an app called "GPS Navigator" by TeleNav. This app does not even work. It says "Looking for carrier", followed by "Can't find Carrier", then I exit. The app is still in my list of apps.

There is no Telenav.apk in the /system/app directory for me to rename. Can an app be installed in some other way than an .apk in the /system/app directory?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

For Bell Mobility in Canada the TeleNav GPS Navigator app is in the /system/app/ directory under "BellMob2.2-6201018-ProdSigned.apk". Rename this to .apk.bak and the TeleNav app, which never worked in the first place, will disappear.

Removing Google Play Store, Services and Google Apps

The Google Play Store and services has always taken up so much internal memory that I needed to dump the cache and uninstall updates. As I have other phones I can download apps, I decided to remove Google Play Store, Play Services, Gmail and other related Google apps. The savings include 40M of data as well as 13M from removed programs. Now I have 85M of internal memory. Part of this is used by QQ. I successfully downloaded WeChat but it will not run. If you have a rooted phone and wish to free your phone from Google's tentacles, backup your device, then delete the apk and odex from /system/app:
Gmail.apk: need this or your Play store will not validate
GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk
GooglePartnerSetup.apk: Needed to verify Google account options
GoogleServicesFramework.apk
MarketUpdater: updates Google Play source
Phonesky.apk: old version of Google Play Store

from the root, then /data/app/ change com.google.android.gms-1.apk to com.google.android.gms-1.apk.bak, reboot and Google Play Services will no longer run.

While this might seem drastic, the benefits for an old and small phone include fast and efficient performance. The phone still can call, text and run apps. You'll just need to side load apps from another source. Other areas of the world, including China, do not have the Google ecosystem, and they do just as well.
