This weeks updates:
  • LG-KDZ-dll-Tool tells if the dll needs the LGUP version 1.16. (yes, older LGUP will also show it when you use it)
  • LGUP_UI-fixer makes now sure that the error message "Can't open new file" doesn't show even if UI was created using an earlier dll version. Actually, one should always run the fixer if the dll is changed (and should not use the add-on bat at all really). Renamed the add-on batch file.

You just extract the dll from the kdz file. That is always the correct one.
You can use LG-KDZ-dll-Tool to do that...
Can i ask you 1 question ? Can i use this tool for cross flashing with korean LG v50s ? I want to flash from KT to KOR.
I see that its have IMPL lock so we cannot flash cross. But how about extract KDZ and then debloat and rebuild KDZ again ?

I extracted the v50 firmware on previous page by using a tool of mine - that is still waiting that beautiful day...

These tools you mentioned might help if LGUP is used. They add extra options to the LGUP and extract the dll file needed. Check the v50 sub forum and also g8 has some info about IMPL ...

I have a KDZ file called V20C_00_0804.kdz . But I cannot extract it. Do anyone know how to fully extract the system folder without issue?

Didn't see this one before...

LG firmware extract - crap like the rest. Worked at the time but not with this old even then.
Try this one:

after patching w/UI fixer still no PDM mode? how to get PDM in LGup??
The options comes from the LGUP_Common.dll and are device based. If you're using the newest dll that supports your device and the option is missing then it's likely that it's not supported.
What you could try is to find a UI_Config.lgl file for some newer device that has PDM option, but it probably just gives some error message... also the dll must work with your device...

Overdoing options a bit...

LGUP-options_CXZa.jpg

Image is fake, but only because the LGUP has a bug in it.
There is possibility for 25 options, but not enough room for them in the GUI. They overlap each other if more than 15.

And, oh yeah, there are few other options that are not mentioned in GUI files - encrypted or not.
Tested some, and they gave just some error messages.
Like the dll or laf didn't support them for my device...

LG-Kdz Download Tool

Started to make a GUI version just for fun. Supports IMEI downloads, but needs some adjusting and cleaning up.
Again making a GUI is not my thing... maybe I'll just add IMEI downloads to the original batch version eventually...

lg-kdz-dowload-tool-ui.jpg

edit: The IMEI is only sent to the LG, like LG Bridge does. (I might add possibility to send the download links found to my website for sharing, but that will be asked beforehand... )

LG-Kdz-downloader (updated)

Because the interest has been overwhelming (like none), I'll try do this batch version ready during the holidays... Just for my own amusement if nothing else..

Okay, IMEI downloads now supported. Made a small program doing things and a downloader to replace wget, but there is a lot that LG's server doesn't support. So, the old wget remains to do the firmware downloads for now.. to keep it small...
(the old zip was 116kib, now 181kib)

Download address is the same.

Hi @CXZa ! Is it possible for the LG-Kdz-downloader tool to d/l older KDZ versions? It appears to only give the option for the latest Nougat and Oreo KDZs. I'll admit I don't truly understand how the tool works, but does LG only send an xml with the latest KDZ versions, or does the tool only ask for the latest and build an xml from the info LG sends?

I used the dll extractor to get the needed dll file from H91810p_00_0717.kdz. The option to copy to the LGUP folder didn't appear to work so I tried again and told it to not copy the dll. It doesn't say as such but it places the extracted dll in the folder that the kdz was in with the same name as the KDZ +.dll.
Thanks to @SidneyD reporting and his DMs giving me more info the LG-KDZ-dll-Tool is now updated. There was a silly bug in it. But kind of big really. Why don't you people complain more.. when there is obvious reason that is...

Without knowing I cannot fix the sh*t...

Anyways the download address is the same.

LG-KDZ-dll-Tool - for extracting that dll from a kdz package
(And for copying it into its correct place in LGUP folder...)

    Download: https://yadi.sk/d/GIMe5U3KneD7rg

    Readme.txt
    ================

LG-KDZ-dll-Tool.bat by CXZ (slatedroid), CXZa (xda, 4pda)
    http://cxzstuff.blogspot.com

Usage 1: Drop a kdz-file over this batch file,
    or: LG-KDZ-dll-Tool.bat some-kdz-file.kdz
and the dll is extracted from the kdz-file.
Asks for copying the extracted dll to the LGUP folder.

Usage 2: Drop a dll-file over this batch file,
    or: LG-KDZ-dll-Tool.bat some-dll-file.dll
and the LGUP_common.dll is copied to the LGUP folder.
Also the wpdapi.exe is copied to there just in case
the UPPERCUT has been used (it removes it).
Admin rights are needed and prompt for it is shown.

    LGUP version: 1.14.0.3

Create a LG-KDZ-dll-Tool shotcut to your SendTo folder?
    [ENTER]=Yes / [SPACE]+[ENTER]=No, also removes the shotcut.

    ================

To see above run the bat without any parameters.

Before using this tool run some LGUP_common.dll installer from LG.
That way other components like XML parser and registry keys are in order.
    Latest at the moment:
    LGUP_Common_DLL_Ver_1_0_28_5.msi
    LGUP_Common_DLL_Ver_1_0_40_2.msi

(LGUP_Common.dll v.2.1.0.30 is the newest one that I have encountered so far... 2020-10-25)

The older version (KDZ dll extractor) is below...

KDZ dll extractor - for extracting that dll from a kdz package
(The dll is needed when flashing for example with LGUP or LG FlashTool.)

Yes, there is other tools that can do the same and more. For example:
    https://github.com/ehem/kdztools
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2483250

But I made this because WindowsLGFirmwareExtract stopped working and python...
Well... python is python, always too big and clumsy for doing little tasks.

WindowsLGFirmwareExtract worked fine for the first time, but after
that it refused to start, and now windows just shows this message
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly" when
I try to start it. And there is only the close button in it.
Anybody else having the same problem? Any solutions?

Anyways, the small batch package I made can be downloaded from here:
    https://yadi.sk/d/1OrWV1VgQxA4mQ

Just unzip it to some folder and run the bat file for the instructions.
Works also through SendTo folder if there is more need for it...

    LGUP_UI-fixer.bat

Yet another little add-on for LGUP to do the same. That is, adds more Process options to the UI.
Should work with LGUP v.1.16 and v.1.14 as well... For 1.15 we don't have UI yet.

    First post:

    Visabler-LGUP_UI-fixer-addon.bat

    LGUP_UI-fixer.bat's weird offspring

Noticed that LGUP_UI-fixer doesn't work on winxp. No icacls in it. Yes XP is old and also win7 is "dying" soon if we believe MS. But for flashing XP is as good as any - if not better, as these manufactures don't really update their tools if they still do their job at the factory. So I started to look an alternative. XP's cacls sucks, also the xcacls script, that isn't even available anymore.

So, how to modify XP's permissions then? By some third party tool? I don't think so...
Therefore I made my version that uses NSIS plug-in for that.
Quite good is that plug-in (and my exe). Should do its job alright.
But is there much demand for it? Probably not....

Anyways, here is my command line version, in case somebody has use for it
    http://cxzstuff.blogspot.com/2019/10/nsis-accesscontrol-plug-in-exe.html

(LGUP_UI-fixer package to work in XP? That idea was dead to begin with...
but maybe I'll do it anyway... on some beautiful day)

Still no xp updates for LGUP_UI-fixer...

LGUP-fixer updated. It now supports also the good old XP...
At least the 32-bit. Haven't checked the other one yet...
(Not really much updated but now the XP understands it more...)

The download address should be the same:
    https://yadi.sk/d/Lw7dtokwfgjI9w

    Visabler-LGUP_UI-fixer-addon.bat
(Might add some more Process options to the LGUP UI)
    (Use LGUP_UI-fixer.bat first...)

It will add all options available and in some rare cases even more...
(if the "Visabler" bat is used. Then some extras might show up but might not work though..)
