Are you sure it supports the lte bands of your carrier? And since your selecting LTE only which will only give you data did you set the correct APN for your carrier??

In our country there are lte bands.

When i select only lte no change to lte and it is 3g yet.

I set correct apn for my carrier.

Other people have lgv20 in my country and they have lte network in your devic.

Plz help

The app does not have IOT option in my phone

First of all credits go with many thanks to @hyelton for the instructions and original post for LG G5!

NOTE: starting with ZV8 firmware version Sprint has patched its ROM, so this option is not available any more.

Now short instructions on how to switch your LG V20 from CDMA to LTE network and configure your 3d party SIM APN settings:
1. Download attached HiddenMenuCall app and install it on your device.
2. Start the application and scroll down to IOT(CDG2) row and press it.
3. Next scroll to LTE settings and press it.
4. Select afterwards Operation Mode and change it from Production to Lab Network

After that the phone will reboot.

5. After reboot start HiddenMenuCall again and scroll down to IOT(CDG2) row and press it.
6. Next scroll to LTE settings and press it.
7. Now select APN Settings and press it.
8. From the upper right corner press 3 dotted menu and select New APN.
9. Configure your APN (refer to Biggest APN list) and press SAVE again in the 3 dot context menu.

That's all you'll now have a LTE/GSM enabled device

I'm greatfull for the solution you have given... I installed all correctly and launched the app but there is no option like IOT there. I successfully switched to LTE through the app but it is temporarily, when I put off the phone and on it later there is no more LTE signal it gets back on 3g(H+).
Please I need a permanent solution.

The HiddenMenuCall APK is starting, but any menu I press results in "HiddenMenuCall has stopped, Open app again ..."

You can’t enable bands your phone doesn’t support. That’s hardware not software

Unless you plan on using it on sprint I’d suggest you return it.

But i android vers 7 without zv8 firmware...won't the purpose of this thread work?

No.. this is for the SPRINT CDMA model to make it work with GSM carriers like AT&T or T-Mobile.

You will have to have T-Mobile unlock your device through the device unlock app on your phone. There's no way around that.

ZVD is after ZV8, the option is gone . No you can't go back to ZV7 either (nor can you root).

I have a Sprint LS997 running 7.0 ZVC. I was able to use T-Mobile SIM with it and I can add / remove / edit APNs. But when I try to use a foreign LTE SIM, the Network Selection is grayed out and the APN manual is completely empty with no ". . ." menu.
