As an update to my previous post. Im once again on my V10. I got my phone back May 18th. So it wasn't terrible. I used an S8 in the interval and i hated it. Too narrow...waayy too slippery of a design...hate the edge...it was frustrating for me to use that thing. To each his own though.

I forgot to mention. This was also the same repair reasons I got. They probably have to put in a reason code of somesort and there probably isnt a "Crap motherboard defect" reason so they just select anything(or the first thing in the list).
Mine came back Wednesday. Some of that was FedEx screwing up. It is back and it works. Seems to hold a charge better.

Lg v1o stuck on lg splash screen

Have you tried doing a factory reset of you phone?

1) Turn off the phone.
2) Then hold down the Volume Down and Power button together for a couple of seconds.
3) As soon as the LG logo is displayed, let go of the Power key, keep pressing the Volume Down and then press once more the Power button.
Afterwards you should see a factory reset menu on your screen.
4) Confirm process by choosing appropriate options using Volume rockers to navigate and Power button to confirm.
5) Now your phone should restart.
6) Success! The hard reset has just been completed.
Good day and thank you for your post.
Tt help to an extent.
After the process of No1-.4, the phone came up but didn`t prompt factory reset.
It also went off like a minute after.
I retried the process of No1-4 again but it didn`t respond.
Please, what can I do for the phone to come up again?
Thank you for your assistance.

Putting it in the fridge (pack it also in a nylon bag to avoid condensation) can help to bring it back to life for long enough to backup your data. As for a permanent fix - send it to LG. Regarding the other cases of bootloop - are there people with phones manufactured after beginning of 2016 who experience the problem? To me it looks that the problems are mainly with earlier batches from the autumn of 2015 but it would be good to see if that is correct.

My phone done this last night. Still won't go past the life is good screen. Any solutions?
Yes get a new device. Contact LG get it repaired.

Many are asking this question of "what should I do"....its a hardware problem. No software fix will correct it. You cant fix it unless you buy the main board and do the work yourself. It isnt hard to do but the board is roughly $150 usd....if you can wait 2 weeks or less, LG will fix it for free. You can try the freezer trick to get it back on for a few minutes too, but thats really it.

My story here.
Sent it for bootloop issue fix, also for the screen ghosting and the second screen light bleeding.
Just got it today with the bootloop fixed and the other 2 issues not addressed. Besides, it is hot as hell now.
Sending it back and most likely joining the class action.

Some of us don't have the option to send it to AT&T.. The carriers don't exist in Pakistan.
I wonder is someone has managed to pin point the exact problem - why are carriers replacing the boards on the phone?

- I wonder if the issue is related to battery stats. I remember when I had a Samsung with custom ROM. Did bootloop problem and I used to clear the battery stats to resolve the issue.

Is LG covering phones outside the 1yr warranty?

I put mine in the freezer for a while and turned it on while holding it still in the freezer and it booted up fine. When I take it out and restart, it gets stuck in the boot screen again. It appears to be a thermal problem that can be a dirty connection that makes the connection worse as the phone warms up. It also could be a hairline fracture in one of the traces on the circuit board or a poor solder point. I am going to remove and clean the SIM Card to see if that has any affect. If that does not do it then service center is my next step.

I'm one of the latest victims of this - stuck at the "LG Life's Good" screen and can't get it to do anything, even hard reset. After reading thru a bunch of the info here, I decided to hit the LG chat to see if I could get LG to hook me up, as they seemed to have done with others. The agent acknowledged the issue, immediately told me I was covered by the extended warranty and provided me info on how to file for a repair. I've got the FedEx labels printed and have stripped the phone down for its trip to Texas for the FREE repair. Expected to be 10-12 days - luckily I've got an old phone I can use in the meantime.

Highly recommend that if you are experiencing this issue to hit up LG on the chat and get your repair request going. FYI: bought mine in Feb16, so it's about 17 months old; glad to see LG is stepping up and owning this on a phone of that age.

They've told me they are going to repair my 17 month old phone free of charge. We'll see what happens.

Alright. Good thing I've found this thread BEFORE I got my hands on a second (maybe third) hand V10 sample with apparently this very same issue on it; issue which, to my understanding, was never really solved cause "use your warranty" is not a solution at this point. You know, since not everyone purchases new phones right from the store, well, not everyone's devices are actually warranty covered. Sorry. Furthermore, I've got clues that some of this issued devices are NOT being repaired by just reflashing them (I've traced and confirmed about a couple, so far), so that's why some people is reselling them as "bargain, repairable opportunities"... Well, obviously not a bargain at all. Perhaps if we can get to know how LG has been "repairing" those issued samples, then we can talk about an existing solution. But, if that is going to remain a mysterious fix, my suggestion is... well, you already figured it out. Wondering real reason why those people do not bother to look for a fix anymore. They've just quit trying!... However, this is just my short story I'm sharing. You're free to go and give it a try if you dare.

Because they know they should have a lot this phones recalled some time ago, hence you'll get a 17 month old phone repaired "free of charge". Unfortunately, LG support is NOT the same everywhere; plus at this point, people purchasing used V10s are not getting proof of purchase, as usual. So a "public fix" is still required. Meanwhile, no V10 for me, either new or not. Shame. It's a nice phone.

I have the same bootloop problem but my question to you is simple, I want to replace the motherboard myselft, does the model of motherboard really matter? My original one is h960A. New motherboard must be H960A? or can it be another one also?

Still haven't pinpointed the exact cause, but I have found a fix! I opened the phone, removed the board, applied flux (optional but definitely helps), and performed a reflow with a heatgun, heating every chip and component of the board for about 5 mins each, both sides. Placing the board in an oven for 10 mins or so will likely do the trick too. Phone now boots fully and I'm backing it up now!

If anyone likes I can post pictures showing/recreating the process.

I was convinced by the posts stating this was a hardware issue, considering the overheating and freezer temp-fixes. I asked LG customer service about this issue and got them to admit they just replace these boards. Considering all these factors and that reflowing worked, it's safe to say this is a hardware issue - near the battery would be my guess.

Most of the boards on the secondhand market though have the same issue or bad IEMI's. Cheaper boards can be found on Aliexpress.

Hi, could you post your images or video? I know it's been a long time and I'm seeing your message. I recently unbrick an LG V10 H901 with motherboard VS990.
