A month ago when I bought my Note 8 and used it late nigh in the dark it made me frightened that I got a refurbished or may be a cheap clone device.
Spent some time to check and verify that device is original. Next day I headed to the shop from where I purchased this and asked him to return this device as its bleeding light from edges. He was stunned like me at the moment and then checked some other units as well. After exploring around 50 Galaxy Note 8 at that shopping mall we found that this problem is in all units. Then I searched the internet and found that its a universal problem [laugh]
After reading this on XDA, at least I am satisfied that I am not the only victim of this [laughs]
Cheer up guys and enjoy the EDGE BLEEDING along with EDGE LIGHTING

This lightbleed issue affects some units, not all, I have a black 950F 128 GB and zero lightbleeding, all officialy imported by samsung devices I have seen in person, from friends and stores, are the same, no bleed at all, in My country, all carriers offer only the 950F 128 GB variant, you can get 64 or 256 GB, but from gray market, and zero warranty, I have not seen any of those, here samsung does not sell phones directly, only through carriers, and only the three major carriers offer note 8 and only the 128 Gb variant, the issue I think is batch-related

Same bulls**t here [emoji21] I guess I'll return it or ask for a replacement but since apparently almost every single one has it, I dont know what to do anymore...
I cannot understand this fail into a $1000 devices

It's nothing but a unfinished paint or maybe Samsung wants it that way. Nothing serious.
Who in Earth used full brightness in a dark room?

I cannot understand how samsung can afford this fail in its top-range phones... Reflexes or leakage I dont care, its a design fail.
I've finally returned mine and I bought a Mi mix 2 instead, im more satisfaced with this purchase

Good for you, if something does not meet your expectations, that is the way to go, many users just complain about this thing, but do not take some action to get rid of it, in your case you took a measure that, in some way, made the annoyance disappear
