Just tried out the built in cam in lightroom for diffrent scenarios. It really bests both the built in cam and the gcam for both normal and hdr scenarios. Try adobe lightrooms cam out with HDR enabled. Skip the gcam hype. :)

Just one example zoomed in. This was at night. Much more dnr dynamic range with lightroom cam.

Even more pronounced in daylight though. But test it for yourelf. The image file is 40mb un edited. Any serious photographer on any phone should use the lightroom cam from now on.

Some proof lightroom camera totally BLOWS google camera away

These are max zoom ins. And not even in any hard hdr scenario. In a scenario where hdr is needed the lightroom camera is even more overpowered.

Just go into playstore and search for and download
"Adobe lightroom".

Now there would be nice to compair the pixel2 and the note8 with both cams using lightroom hdr camera to really se what phone takes the best pics.

Have you compared it against Open camera? With settings all the way up.

No. Does it require root? Wher can one get it? Id like to compaire it.

- i just tried it! Amazing! BUT SLOW. alot slower than lightroom. Tomorrow i will compair it with lightroom for quality. Sad the final hdr picture from open camera isnt in RAW format. I will post back on details of quality in 24 hrs.

I just tested lowlight.

1. Lightroom preserves more detail and more dnr
2. Opencamera hdr is more compressed ie less detail but less noise. (You could still do manual nrd on lr)
3. No majour differences but a minor plus for the LR cam. LR cam is also quicker.

summary. Lightroom is best. Its quick and gives a bit better quality due to rawfiles in its hdr compaired to opencamera.

Hello,

I want to use the ported version of the Gcam on my Galaxy J5(2017) with Android 7.0 and Exynos 7870 Octa. Can someone help me with an Android 7.0 version of this port?
Thank you.

What about the portrait mode in Lightroom, most of the people use GCam only for its exceptional portrait mode option!
