I prefer F-Droid, personally.@All: Should I remove G-Droid from my ROM?
Yes, it does. But I had exactly same behaviour with stock ROM. It depends on the WiFi router. According to my findings, especially TP-Link routers with stock firmware cause very frequent disconnects of Z5C WiFi. With OpenWRT on the same routers, WiFi is much more stable. I assume it is an incompatibility issue with the lower OSI layers. But just a guess.Is it just me or the WiFi frequently disconnects?
Hi Berni.There are a lot of ways to change gains. You can change the file /etc/mixer_paths.xml to adjust many many many many gains and so on... :angel:
<path name="dmic1-adj-gain">
<ctl name="DEC7 Volume" value="114" />
</path>
<path name="dmic2-adj-gain">
<ctl name="DEC9 Volume" value="114" />
</path>
There has been a lot of discussion about different changes in the mentioned lines. Some people are reporting loud echos when encreasing both values.I found a way to solve the ultra-low voice record mic-gain issue for me:
In mixer_paths.xml line 1518 I changed the DEC7 Volume value from 84 to 114.
For symmetry I also changed DEC9 (upper mic) in line 1523 to same value.
OK, I see :cyclops:There has been a lot of discussion about different changes in the mentioned lines. Some people are reporting loud echos when encreasing both values.
That's the reason why I'm not changing these values in my rom.
If it's working for you: :good:
At my z5c my settings are working best.... :angel:
Thank you, thank you, thank you! :good:New version out; see 1st post!
I really don't know why this happens.But then this is a complete mystery for me:
All Z5Cs have identical mic gains with the very same stock mixer_paths.xml. But with LineageOS the mic gains vary between zero and full gain even though it's the same mixer_paths.xml among them...??!
(AFAIK) No!Does the stock ROM have a separate single-device-specific calibration file to compensate hardware variations?
I don't think so (don't hope so)Or does the last value set by the stock ROM stay somewhere in the hardware and does not get re-set by LineageOS? (I had this with Bluetooth once on another device)
Same here. Ja, that's another not well working thing; but I can't change it. SorryProbably the same counts for the auto brightness function of the screen. With LineageOS it's a total unusable mess on my device
Wow, I thought I was going nuts. I recently switched from an Asus RT-N16 router with Tomato firmware to a TP-Link Archer C7 v5 with DD-WRT and started getting frequent WiFi drop-outs on my Z5C (but not on my Lenovo laptop with an Intel wifi chip). So it sounds like it's not the router. The TP-Link is an Atheros 9K chipset https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_Archer_C7_v5.x while the Asus is Broadcom: https://wikidevi.com/wiki/ASUS_RT-N16.Yes, it does. But I had exactly same behaviour with stock ROM. It depends on the WiFi router. According to my findings, especially TP-Link routers with stock firmware cause very frequent disconnects of Z5C WiFi. Thanks!ok i have an ADB log attached with the WiFi dropping once or twice within ~2 mins.
That's my issue exactly, but it seems that the antenna isn't as sensitive as it should be. This was happening back when I went to University of Illinois, and it's now happening here at home, too.Thanks!
I can see that the device is connecting and disconnecting (and then registering a new network) very often.
This behaviour can not be seen at my device. My device connects once and then works stable.
Maybe this is a problem with your wifi router?![]()
Problem is solved. I flashed it a third time and for some reason this time I don't encounter any network issues.Hi all,
I have an issue with my network, that is a bit different.
WiFi works very stable but for me, the network (cell service) drops out ever few minutes (sometimes even just seconds). That only happens as long as I am on a WiFi. If I turn WiFi off, the cell service connection is very stable!
I tried updating to the latest firmware using flashtool and make a clean install of Bernies rom after that.
It still happens.
Anyone else facing that issue? Any idea what logs to capture to get an idea on what's happening?
Thanks for all you work and help!
Ignore it.On thing I noticed: In the UnifiedNlp-Settings under "self-check" it says "Your Sytem does not support this UnifiedNlp package. Either install a matching package or a compatibility Xposed module." I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my install or if I can ignore this message.
