Edit: I turned off live display and now its 60fps and all smooth.

Another thing, I know the camera doesnt work at all, im just wondering is that set in stone? Will the camera ever work or is there no one attempting because its a lost cause?

Nothing stopping you from fixing camera.

Hoping this progresses more. This seems to be the most promising custom rom so far, and I think one of the other ones has had luck with Bluetooth, and I think camera with a third party app.

unfortunately the rom this port was based from is not expected to receive any updates, so neither can this port from it.

the dev is moveing to new device.

I wouldn't hold your breath... Blu doesn't have a good track record when it comes to updating their phones. But they have promised Nougat for the phone when it came out but so far nothing ?

It will most likely never happen. Blu hasn't released the source code for us, which we need to get the camera working. If their is a nougat update though, we could get it to work but again, it most likely won't happen because Blu never updates anything

Didn't Blu promise to release the Nougat update awhile ago? I swear they promised as soon as Nougat was release they were going to push the update to the Blu R1 HD?
Then again I've been told Blu is really persistent when it comes to pushing updates for their phones.

They had promised nougat and yes, they are very horrible at updating their phones

I contacted BLU and requested a Nougat Update.

Yes let's hope they do! So far we have a working port for the R1 HD but the problem is the camera doesn't work and really its the only issue the ROM faces. But I still dont understand why Blu won't just release the code its very frustrating!

Always hoping for the best, hopefully blu will do the right thing. Till then I guess I have no camera (I'm on the ported nougat ROM)
