Sd card indexing issue (0 byte file size)

I only have this issue on Pie builds. The camera is set up correctly (using Footej) and it has sd card access.

If I take pictues to internal memory, they work right away.
But when I use my SD CARD, the file appears as 0 byte or not ar all. After a reboot, the files get their right size and appear correctly. This seems like sloppy external memory handling by Pie....?

New builds are up not a big changelog in this one as its mostly maintainance build with security updates
13.06.2019.
- upstreamed kernel to 3.18.140
- Updated to June 2019 security update
- Updated to May 2019 vendor (samsung side) security update
- bsp side performance updates

And here is a little behind the scenes of whats going on with development right now
I managed to get 4.14 kernel to boot on the s7 (serial console as of right now so it didnt boot to gui)
what does this mean? this means longer support for the device, performance improvements and better security
When will this be available for others to test?, Unfortunately not so soon as i said it only goes to serial console (thru uart) right now
and pretty much everything is broken just getting it to boot was a big step and ill try to get thing with that kernel sorted during summer

Also i would like to thank everyone who donated as it helps with the server costs which also helped with progress that will hapen, this rom will never
have exclusive group for donators like some roms and it will never become one of those paid roms a lot of people started releasing
But as stated previously donations are greatly appreciated as they help with keeping everything running

I forced stop and disabled the default email app few days ago and just noticed I have no random restarts anymore. And my device is running smoother than ever. It was brought to my attention when out of nothing email app started to drain my battery. I had random reboots from version 14, sometimes daily... Now for about five days no reboots. For those with the same issue, you can try it, I hope it's not a placebo...

sdcard: 0 byte file size

I can see "0 byte file size" with different Apps with this
15.1
(including the new 20190613), too.
i.e. exporting "contacts.vcf" (with contacts-app) makes 0 byte
on intern and - in another try - also on ext. sdcard ---
while shareing all contacts to some file-manager gives
a complete file (vcard...)

with 20190613 my missing SIMcard-detect on startup
seems to be solved - thank you, Ivan

LineageOS losing WiFi connection

My LOS is sometimes losing WiFi connection.
Then, when I open the WiFi Manager, no network is visible, even if a lot of networks are there.
Only/best solution to fix it: Reboot the device.
First I thought it comes from AFWall+, but with my actual setup I have AFWall+ not installed...
I also thought about if it can come Magisk... but I don't know!

So can anybody (with Magisk, or without) verify it, or can verify that without Magisk it doesn't happen?

I add two screenshots about it:

Hi!

What's about the Google Camera App?
When I turn around the camera in the app to make a selfie, the app crash.
When I try to make a video, I get a error msg.
Where is the problem?

Greets, Tobias.

Can anybody verify this problem?
I set up my device multiple times, but the bug persists and I'm pretty sure I have no hardware prob, 'cause other camera apps work...
Have anybody tested LOS 16 on S7? Is there the same bug?
Whats about other devices with LOS? Same bug there? A prob of/in LOS?
Irvan can you have a look at it, or do you already know it?

I attach two (German) Screenshots of it...

I followed your advice as I was also plagued by those seemingly random reboots and I've had none for 24h. Fingers crossed it was not a placebo :)

I had with my different setups of LOS on my device different versions of gcam, but Play Store updates always to the latest. So maybe I should try to deactivate auto-update for gcam, try to find a version that works and use it...
Anyway: GCam worked really fine with the stock image, I tried a lot of other cam apps (gcam is still the best in stabelising the cam) and none of them crashed...
So why crash gcam when others don't and what is missing/wrong/buggy in LOS that gcam work with stock but not with LOS ???

u have tried the modded gcam like Mod8.3b_IDan_v3.3b_Oreo and followed the instructions step by step? else give footej camera a try.
I decided to use stock again for the moment because I can not do without a good camera app.

I do have the same problem and do also have Magisk installed.
Could that really be the reason for loosing the WIFI?

I'm using Magisk Nightlies so I often get updates of it...
In some times I had more lost of WiFi (daily) in others less (every some days)... I can just imagen 2 apps on my phone that have the power to interrupt LOS WiFi: Xposed & Magisk!
But on my actual setup I have Xposed not installed... ^^

Bugreport

Hi Ivan,

I got today (first time ever since I use LOS) a notification that a bugreport was created and if I want to share it...
I saved the report, a screenshot of the content of the archive I have posted here: http://imgur.com/gallery/rNOcoUl
Is this bugreport interesting for you for debugging ???
And if, can I send the archive to you e.g. by email, 'cause it should include private data... ?

Greets, Tobias.

Camera 2 API

Ivan,

I read in different article that I have to activate Camera 2 API for GCam, is this (still) right?
Shouldn't "LOS for Samsung Galaxy S7" use as much hardware features as possible by default ???
Also: Seems the user have to root LOS (SU) or use a Magisk Addon... Think it's "not fair" that the user must do this to have GCam when he can also have GCam on stock without root...
Next: I read that I should use the Magisk Addon (preferred) for it... But seems the Addon is now removed from the download list... :-/
Read, that Camera 2 API is just a build property, that must be activated... Right? Can't you just activate it by default ???

Greets, Tobias.

You simply have to install normally. It does not require root in any way. Api 2 is already enabled on los

Sometime Wifi does a lot of try before connecting to my box. It works well with factory rom.
Any idea what could be the issue?

Yet another quick progress update, Rebase on top of samsungs oreo drop is almost done, Kernel is ready I also updated BSP source, I just need to figure out few things about new blobs as samsungs implementation is kinda weird and i dont want to publis build that might be less stable than last one
    58
New build is up , Quite big changes in this one, HWC has been fixed and thats just one of things that makes this build smoothest so far for that matter it should be as smooth as TW if not smoother as ui elements are finally rendered by gpu and not cpu, This should also make battery last longer as we dont push cpu with tasks like rendering ui and gpu was intended for that anyway
    IjrN5iY.jpg

Also I am proud to announce I'm now a part of LineageOS team and once I resolve issues with GPS official LOS 15.1 builds will start to roll, That doesnt mean ill stop unofficial builds on xda as ill use xda as test ground for latest new features and improvements, Also this build is based on new BSP, and this is just first on the list of surprises comming for this, anyway enjoy new build, Also I still do this in my free time and dont get paid for this so dont ask for eta's
    52
    More progress updates from Pie
    Mobile data is working now
    Gps is working
All of the sensors are working
Mobile calls dont drop randomly anymore
MTP (and usb in general) is working
    OMX is working

Camera is still broken and ill focus on fixing it before release everything else i tested so far
    was working

Also note that im doing this in my free time and i dont get paid for this so please try not to rush me and message
me asking me about ETAs its quite irritating and i dont care if X or Y device got aosp, As s7 is only device with this cpu
and you cant compare it with devices that used same cpu as countless other devices, Thanks for understanding

Also ill probbaly be releasing few more 15.1 builds before it goes official with minor bug fixes

I would also like to thank everyone who donated in past as it helps with covering build server hosting
