LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

From the first post: "Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts."

If I already have resurrection rom, is my data already encrypted? If not, can I encrypt it from within the rom?

---------- Post added at 02:31 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 AM ----------

Check it in extracted fastboot ROM folder of official MIUI ROM

Do you have a link to that thread?

As usual, lineage 16 is under early development so don't expect a lot of features yet.

    Known bugs:-

Almost everything should work. I did only limited testing due to lack of time. If u encounter any plz report them here with a suitable log.

    Thread cleaned,
Wow that was a lot of bickering i had to clean up. Guys, this is a development thread. Just because the LOS team announced official support will stop doesn't mean it wont start up again. Maintainers come and go for devices. I'm sure if someone wanted to pick up the torch and continue to work with the LOS team you can be their guest. There is no need to flame each other over speculation on XDA. If you want to have a debate take it to a general thread, as long as you keep it civil.

Remember to always post with respect towards the developer and other members on this site. If you can't do that, then just don't post. Please don't derail this thread again. We dont what to come back and clean up this thread again.
    Thank you for your understanding
