Hai, great to know that there android 9 for this tab. My n8000 is running lineageOS 14, installed 7 months ago, I don't know may be I was making mistake with the gapp, but playstore keep crashing a lot, try to instal some apps and open but keep closing so often, so the n8000 been kept since then.

Today try to search any better rom and found slimrom 7 and lineage16.
Want to ask fellow users who have tried both slimrom 7 and this lineage16, which rom is better recommended for daily use with most functionality and better performance?
I know it's better that I try both myself, but I want to know others' experience and suggestion first.
Thanks in advance

S8 notes app(Samsung official app<-NOT TRUE) works now for me on the 27.11. update. It crashed previously.
This update seems to run smoother. Very happy for now.

Rom is excellent. However after latest update 27\11 when using the s-pen the screen is getting a highlight overlay. When I scroll the app page some icons get highlited, even scrolling XDA app a yellow highlight appears over the screen. When I go back to using finger the overlay disappears. ??
I found this too. It has something to do with the widgets. The overlay comes from the widgets you have on the desktop. When using a pen the widgets from the desktop cast an overlay on the next screen.

It seems you a right. When I add a blank home screen page the effect disappears. Must be something to do with the new s-pen jiggery pokery OP has implimented.

Another graphical issue I've noticed.

A bit of discoloration.

The background is supposed to be a solid color, but it appears to have a gradiant.

Build number is in the picture.

Another thing that kinda bugs me, the version of Open Camera you are using only has the 50hz antiflicker option. I live in the US and most of the displays here are 60hz.
Hi,
i think this issues is in general a problem in our kernel, I had a similar thing in LOS 14, will try to fix this.
And because of the missing 60Hz setting, this does not depend on the open camera version,
it's just a camera parameter, I will include this in the next update.
Just a comparison with the Open Camera app I have on my Razer Phone, there's 2 more options: 60hz and Auto

Thank you @html6405! Installed the 11/25 build and everything worked pretty much right out of the box including the OEM keyboard dock and Spen. It's been up and running for about 24 hours now without any issues.

I did have one question, 5ghz wifi. The WiFi region setting is missing (Wi-Fi->Advanced->Wi-Fi region code). In previous roms I've used, I would need to set it to US in order to see my 5ghz networks. Are there any options for this?
I will add this on the list.
I just installed your last version and oooh boy is the S pen feeling different! So great! Thank you 1000 times for taking the time! It was definitely worth the effort. I am more than happy that I sponsorized quite some beers for you ;)

I am still wondering about the apps, do you know why some apps are unavailable for this tablet? They were working fine under different versions, but it isn't even possible to download them. Am I missing something?

To take notes:
previously S Note (for years); OneNote (not the biggest fan of microscoft, but I have to admit that it works pretty well)

To annotate pdfs:
Adobe Acrobat; PDFelement; Xodo

Other cool things:
photoshop
Thx :), I guess you mean in the Playstore? Are you certificated? Is Magisk hide working?

Hi, yes this is new, our S-Pen now get's treated as a pointer, this was necessary to get palm rejection working.
I don't know why the system does this, this would be more a keyboard thing, but I will try to remove this.
I think it is a good thing to skip Android 10 and directly update to Android 11 after all Android 9 roms comes to a stable state.

---------- Post added at 09:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:59 AM ----------

Maybe the system thinks that you are long-pressing the place where you are using the s-pen

Hmm I don't think so, because really much work I've made to bring android 9 up, was good to overtake for android 10 (I'm having my own testing build), it will be also easier to overtake much work from android 10 to 11.

Great ROM!!
Anybody else having problem installing GApps on 8010? Tried ARM Android 9 Pico.. Stops installing in the middle of process, returns to mainscreen of TWRP. Reboot end up in TWRP after boot anim... Any idea?

Works surprisingly well, is there any way to make the SPen button and pull out detection work?

Detection is definitely working "internally", as I side-loaded GMD Spen Control and while it really doesn't work it's able to put a notification when I remove the pen and remove it when I insert it again. Unfortunately it can't recognize the gestures as, at least here, the behavior of being able to draw a trail with the button pushed and recognize the gesture when releasing it, is not working, so it can't do anything.

I used GMD Spen Control to disable the touchscreen when removing the Spen. That is in fact a deal breaker for me, but I'll remain in this ROM because I like it a lot and I'm confident we are getting closer to be able to do that again at some point :)

Hey, first of all, thank you for this great ROM, it's working really stable on my N8000. Since I am a performance freak, I've tried some custom OC kernels available with stock ROMs and they worked really good on 1.66-1.7GHz stages. Of course it goes to bootloop whenever I try to replace the kernel on your ROM, so there comes my question. Are you maybe planning to release OC'd kernel for download in near future?

Seconded, OC could bring some new life to the old tablet

I never overclocked mine. How far can it go? How much does it impact performance? And how much does it impact battery life?

A bit of discoloration.

The rom is very good, it allowed me to revive the tablet.
With the version of 24/11 I had no problems with the screen, while the version of 11/27 I have the same problem :(

LNOS16 on GT-N8010 no GPS

Hi !
Thx for your great work !!
I used for months your LNOS 14 release with my old 2012 GT-N8010 and it worked pretty well.
So I rushed into this 16 release... The memory management seems greatly improved as I now can manage more web pages than before without any lock or reset.
FYI, GPS is not detected (not even an icon on icon menu).

Thank's again!

Thank you so much html6405, excellent work, and greatly appreciated!
spend a couple of hours installing the ROM, since I have not been in the custom ROM world for a while, made so many mistakes along the way.

I installed TWRP in the boot partition (wrong1), cause TWRP to boot loop, panicked, wiped out everything including data with TWRP(wrong2), the machine won't boot, have to use ODIN to install TWRP again from PC.
installed the ROM, and Gapp installation failed because I download the wrong version(ARM64)(Wrong3), which should be ARM/PICO.
installed the ROM again, boots fine, go back to install GAPPs(wrong4), failed again. turn out you have to install ROM and GAPPs consecutively, NOT after booting.
Finally, boot up, everything works fine. one of the streaming site videos has green lines across, I blame it on a weak CPU.
I have a question, why VIA browser is included when you have water down the "jelly browser" already? is this mandatory?
OTA shows an update available, I download and installed, find out it is the same version I had.

My last ROM was Slimroms Slim7, it was great also.
This machine is very old, the back panel is getting loose because the glue has deteriorated, I was happy to get Marshmallow on it, now I have Pie and more on the horizon, thank you again for your hard work.

You have to install the rom and directly afterwards gapps, without any reboot between.

In generall the pull out detection does work, I've programmed a wakup event into the driver.

There could be 3 reasons, the first one would be, that this app isn't compatible anymore, or
it's having a problem with my integrated lineageos touchscreen gestures.
The third reason could be my integrated back event in the driver.

Yes, but I've removed OC on purpose because in previous roms many people had problems because they were playing around.
I don't want to get bombed with crash reports of overclocked kernels again.

I've seen a similar thing on mine, I think this is a generall problem in the kernel and schould exist since the beginning.
I'm working hard on it.

Hmm GPS is working in my case and there's also the icon.
Have you enabled GPS? And which device do you have?
You could make a complete Syslog after a GPS-Test.

Upps, yes there went much wrong, but good that you've made it.
I've included VIA, because it provides a much smoother surfing experience.
I could bann jelly from this rom, but just leaved it there for yet...

Serious issue

Hello! Just now I started experiencing a serious problem on the N8020, the screen starts flickering, chrome barely shows on the display even though I am at home and restarting didn't fix this, actually it even showed this on the boot screen. On the other hand I don't think the display itself is broken as when I go to TWRP it works fine there? Here is a video of that in action: https://youtu.be/r9OgQ5tptFw

@html6405 Thank you for excellent job! Lineage 16.0 works fantastic on my N8010! I flashed it myself for the first time and everything works better then expected, stable and fluid.
Just wanted to tell the others who are interested that the device is fast with (original) battery lasting for hours of video. The device shows that it is certified. YouTube works, Netflix and HBO MAX also. I have downloaded Sketchbook and FlipaClip to try S-pen and it works without problem. Regarding stream TV video apps I have noticed that some channels have broken picture if the battery is on the power saving mode.
The only problem I have encountered so far is that some channels at our local TV streaming app MAXTV2GO (developed by T-com) have broken picture, like the tiles with horizontal lines (probably some codec issues?). Other channles on the same app work fine, and the third work good if the battery saving mode is turned off...

    Hi all
Having problems trying to flash Magisk 26.1. No matter if I flash from TWRP or if I patch the boot.img, and then flash boot.img, no success.
Is there any problem with Magisk and this ROM?
    Thank you
yeah u gotta install this kernel that @html6405 made

    just flash in twrp

The kernel suggested seems not compatible with my device (GT.N8020)
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks!
oh, i think there was an older version in the thread for gt-n8020 but the headphone jack wasnt working

if you dont want a new kernel you could install magisk 24.1

    Hi,

here you can find my LineageOS 16.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
At first I want to thank @forkbomb444, @rINanDO, @ChronoMonochrome and all the others who are working on the exynos 4 devices, you deserve it.

I'm working nearly every day to improve our N80xx devices and here you get a already stable version.

Here you can see what's working / not working:

    N8000, N8010, N8013, N8020:
    Boot
    Audio
    Bluetooth
    Graphics
    Cameras
    Sensors
    Wifi
    USB
    Video playback (HW/SW)
    OTA Updates
    RIL N8000, N8020
    GPS, not sure if completely
Tethering via USB, WIFI and Bluetooth
    consumerir transmitter
    • Main camera sometimes can't take a picture in full resolution, you could simply reopen the app and retry, or you lower the resolution.
    TWRP

    N8000 Rom
    N8010 / N8013 Rom
    N8020 Rom

If you're having problems with decoding some videos (blurried),
this is mostly because the avc hardware decoder gets configured wrongly.

You can disable it with my magisk module:
    avc_decoder_disabler.zip

If you are going to use Gapps,
I recommend to use the pico package!
    https://opengapps.org/
For the others, you can use microG if you want, I've enabled signature spoofing.

    Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

    donate

If you don't like it, reboot into recovery and type the following command:
You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.
For both methods you need root rights.

    Wanna improve your sound configs?
Now you can use my app to access all boeffla sound configurations.

Hey, I just installed this to n8005 and you saved me from buying a new tablet. It works beyond my expectations. This is 8+ years old device after all. You are also helping environment too. Companies should do what you are doing instead of removing chargers to protect the environment. You seriously deserve donation. Have a nice day

    I'm sorry people,
because I've created a new domain wifi related,
it made some existing rules uneffective.

I'm working hard to run selinux without any neverallow rules (I'm nearly there) to provide the best security.

To get wifi working again, type with your PC or terminal emulator:

    adb shell (only with PC)
    su
    setenforce 0

and wifi will work again, there will be another update today with the new fixes.
