It isn't serious problem, I don't usually use aeroplane mode. Please give your effort to SPen.
I don't know what I should change, I took everything from the same kernel with the same settings,
it should be equal like in slim7.
I got a N8000 device, and I flashed twrp 3.4.0, N8000 binary from the initail post.

But it entered the system first then auto rebooted with a rebooting-device pop-up.

I don't know what was wrong, would you help with this?

Thanks.
Hmm I can't say what happened, is it working now?
BRILLIANT ROM. Stable, fast and like a whole new tablet!
One minor thing - the volume seems very quiet on headphones/external speakers - any way of boosting that?
Thanks,
have you tried AudioFX? You could also try Viper4Android.
In generall the audio output settings can get changed via the configuration file in
/system/etc/sound/n80xx
But I have to retry it with my headset, didnt recognized the low volume.

Update 24.11.2020:

- fixed power hal
- fixed color fade bug (when you lock the screen vertically)
- included magisk hide script, now Magisk Hide should also still work after a reboot,
it could be that you have to disable / enable magisk hide by your own before it will work.

Only via OTA.

My bluetooth keyboard stopped working after this latest update. BT headset is working fine though

I didn't change anything related to bluetooth, have you tried to reconnect it?
Just in case, you could downgrade to the version before, just for testing purposes.

I downgraded to nov 3. version that was first version I had. Keyboard is working again. My latest version before was the one where you fixed the volume problem, keyboard worked with that one too. I will try to update now to the latest version that's on the first post.

Edit: not working on that one either, so some change from 9.11 version to 19.11 ****s it up. Keyboard can be paired and it will show up in previously connected devices, but it won't connect.

Thank you sir html6405 for making this ROM. I have revived my friends old n8000.

My observations and comments:

- back camera works if you lower resolution and use "infinity focus" or "fixed focus" mode in the camera settings.
- infrared not working, apps don't recognize it. This would be great if it worked.
- You fixed the Firefox crash but some apps still crash. S Note app (old app from apkmirror) crashes on the welcome screen. I can't get S Note app to work.
- version 18.11.2020 ran faster and smoother. 20.11. update is slower
- wallpaper doesn't apply properly (zooms in on a part of the picture) maybe just my problem.

I did not test: gprs, sim, calling/texting, pen functionality, alarm, ring and call loudness,..

Great work. Please continue! :)

Regards...

Update: I dirty flashed the 19.11. update and Magisk is working again.

After having your same problem I changed to the beta channel in Magisk Manager and installed 21.1 without problems.

html6405, thank you very much for spending your time on this :)

On my 8010 it seems to work pretty well. My only gripe is that I have traditionally used GMD Spen Control to disable the touch input when removing the SPen, as it makes writing so much more comfortable and precise. To my surprise it's not available on the play store anymore, but I have sideloaded the APK and although it seems to start and it detects when I remove and attach the SPen (it puts a notification on top when you do this) I can't use it because it looks like gestures are not enabled. Before flashing this custom rom I could press the SPen button and when drawing on the screen a trailing was visible and a gesture was evaluated when releasing. It seems like it's not there anymore, but maybe I'm missing something?

Keep up the good work please! :) It's very much appreciated :good:

Updated to 24.11 OTA. Now the device is really slow! Maybe I should clean install it.
I tried this rom:
https://xdaforums.com/galaxy-note-10-1/development/rom-nougat-t3505239
Spen works fine there but mouse pointer isn't appearing. Can you check it and maybe import some features? (only a suggestion).
Thanks again

hello,

first i would like to thank you for your amazing efforts in reviving this tablet.
my son was using MS teams for distance learning, and it stopped working after MS stopped supporting kitkat.
so your work was a god send :)

This latest update seems to have a few issues though, mainly with screen hiccups. almost like when an LCD is failing, and it flickers? strange. also tablet seems lot slower.

Is it possible to downgrade to the 19-11-2020 update? where can i find that file? i deleted it after updating last week. as i had no idea i should keep them stored. if i can dl from anywhere, i can install it with twrp

thanks :)

* note : (perhaps unrelated) : i installed asphalt 8, and touch screen is not working. and upon starting, it shows me the keyboard layout key! very strange as i use no hardware keyboard - there was a sec-disable patch but that was for android 7 right?)
*also asphalt 9 says my device is not compatible !! is that some kind of update error?

html6405 hi again! What is the difference between Samsung's Rom and yours in general about that palm rejection part? There must be some protocol like thing in their code... Are they also using same base things like you? Sorry for stupid questions, I just trying to understand a bit the structure of two different Roms...

Edit: I found sth like that while I am browsing around about that issue. https://xdaforums.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/fix-enable-palm-rejection-spen-stock-t4042799/amp/

So, palm rejection excluded between Lineageos 14.1 and 15.0. Was there any valid reason about that? Do you know anything about that? If the things are going on C language maybe I can give a hand a bit. FYI. As a your humble servant. :)

Awesome rom.. i moved from rr to lineage finally..

Hopefully you could attached md5 of the update.. it's scary when you download a rom and it's a failed download. :D Thanks.

Hi, ok this is strange, the only change to bluetooth was earlier.
https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=83859025&postcount=78
I guess that you've already removed the pairing and retried it.
You could make a complete syslog for me, maybe the I can find the bug.
I dont have any bluetooth keyboard.
You also could try to make a backup of your data (twrp), do a factory reset and retry to connect it.
Thank you sir html6405 for making this ROM. I have revived my friends old n8000.

I'm still working on the back camera, I dont know why, but sometimes it can't allocate the ION output memory with the full resolution.
Puh S-Note, I'm not sure if this app is event compatible with android 9, I have to take a look at it.
You will all face that it's slower after a update, just give the device time to dex2oat again and cleaining up in the backgroud.
But everyone can downgrade to a previous version and must not upgrade :).
Infrared blaster is not supportet for yet, I'm still working on it.
Ok, wallpaper is zoomed, don't know how to change it, it's noted.

Hmm I've updated the Magisk Manager, but this shouldnt cause any problems.
Have you repacked the manager?

Can you describe the screen hickup more detailed and when does this happen?
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=profile&uid=4349826312261710792
There are all versions.
And you can also use my sec_keyboard disabler in android 9 for asphalt 8.
Asphalt 9 isn't compatible with our devices.

Hi, if you update via OTA, you should be safe, the zip is signed.
All versions on AFH show there md5sum's.

What exactly isnt working with spen in your case?
Mouse pointer? Should be removed since many updates.
Maybe palm rejection is an issue, but for me it's working fine,
also spent many hours to integrate the gestures again.

It's the Palm rejection that is mentioned above. I think it isn't fine because you can't write with your palm touching the screen. This device is equipped with a stylus we can't use 100%. We are counting on you to import that feature to this rom.

Ok, now I've backported the palm rejection, it works really better, I've never used the pen this way.

    Hi,

here you can find my LineageOS 16.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
At first I want to thank @forkbomb444, @rINanDO, @ChronoMonochrome and all the others who are working on the exynos 4 devices, you deserve it.

I'm working nearly every day to improve our N80xx devices and here you get a already stable version.

Here you can see what's working / not working:

    N8000, N8010, N8013, N8020:
    Boot
    Audio
    Bluetooth
    Graphics
    Cameras
    Sensors
    Wifi
    USB
    Video playback (HW/SW)
    OTA Updates
    RIL N8000, N8020
    GPS, not sure if completely
Tethering via USB, WIFI and Bluetooth
    consumerir transmitter
    • Main camera sometimes can't take a picture in full resolution, you could simply reopen the app and retry, or you lower the resolution.
    TWRP

    N8000 Rom
    N8010 / N8013 Rom
    N8020 Rom

If you're having problems with decoding some videos (blurried),
this is mostly because the avc hardware decoder gets configured wrongly.

You can disable it with my magisk module:
    avc_decoder_disabler.zip

If you are going to use Gapps,
I recommend to use the pico package!
    https://opengapps.org/
For the others, you can use microG if you want, I've enabled signature spoofing.

    Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

    donate

If you don't like it, reboot into recovery and type the following command:
You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.
For both methods you need root rights.

    Wanna improve your sound configs?
Now you can use my app to access all boeffla sound configurations.

Hey, I just installed this to n8005 and you saved me from buying a new tablet. It works beyond my expectations. This is 8+ years old device after all. You are also helping environment too. Companies should do what you are doing instead of removing chargers to protect the environment. You seriously deserve donation. Have a nice day

    I'm sorry people,
because I've created a new domain wifi related,
it made some existing rules uneffective.

I'm working hard to run selinux without any neverallow rules (I'm nearly there) to provide the best security.

To get wifi working again, type with your PC or terminal emulator:

    adb shell (only with PC)
    su
    setenforce 0

and wifi will work again, there will be another update today with the new fixes.
