Thanks for the rom html6405!
Just made an account to let everyone know that there is an issue with the latest gapps version (12 October 2021). It fails on setup with "android setup keeps stopping".
Previous version worked fine (I think I tried like 10 times before downgrading xD)

On the side note, is there any reason to update gapps manually after first install with rom? Aren'y they updated in background automatically like Google Play Store services?

Sure they will be updated, but only on the data partition, so if you do a factory reset,
they still will be the "old" version.
Thanks but I already fixed it by "reseting" whole /data by changing it to ext2 and back to ext4 and reformating :)
Great!

Ok have one of these around and wanted to give to kids just to watch you tube and few apps

So installed TWRP but then forgot to do the below

  1. In TWRP, you have to choose Wipe and pull „Swipe to Factory Reset“, afterwards choose again Wipe->Advanced Wipe, choose System and pull „Swipe to Wipe“.
So I installed Rom and then Gapps (ARm64/9.0/Pico)

However I wanted to try to debloat and tried to get into developer mode to remove via adb but could not. Also tried to download app Titanium but all play downloads just stay at pending?

Also the home screen just seems to have a back button and small line see picture below so cannot close all apps

Also on power off no option via twrp to boot to recovery etc

So do I have to go back into recovery via power button and volume and wipe and then install rom and gapps and it may work or any other suggestions?

Thanks

This device has an arm architecture...

I don't see the problem, but theoretically a factory reset should be enough if you've installed the correct gapps (and not arm64).
Thanks

Reinstalled and did full wipe and correct Gapps and booted fine.

Trying to install magisk and remove apps via adb now as don't need phone, messaging etc just the bare minimum

It seems that I cannot disable Z-RAM. I would like to be able to disable it. How can I do this?
I tried using Smartpack Kernel Manager, but Z-RAM keeps going back to 400MB when I set it to zero. Z-RAM uses more CPU resources and I'm okay with the "low RAM". Honestly 2GB is not all that low, I've used devices with much lower RAM before, and I still use a device that has 1GB of RAM (Moto E LTE - Surnia).

Hi, I installed your rom on my GT-N8020. It runs smootly and much better than old Cyagenmod one, but I cannot use the SIM CARD. A message asks me to reboot to activate the mobile data, but it appears at every logon and I cannot surf (no internet connection)... Is there a way to fix? This rom is awesome and I won't back on old Cyagenmod CF.

Cheers

Hi,
in most cases it should be enough to ignore this message, check the APN settings if they are active.

Dear developer. I apologize for my bad English. I am trying to install the last lineage-16.0-20211007-html6405-n8000.zip from Oct 07, 2021. Twice pumped, but the problem remains. First of all I installed the service N8000XXSDQA5 | 4.4.2 | 01/05/2017 | 2451855 | Russia. Then after one installed TWRP-3.5.0_9-0-N8000. Everything was established normally. Threw away Lineage-16.0-20211007 and Open_Gapps-Arm-9.0-Pico on the USB flash drive. Inserted into the tablet. I go into the TVP, I do all the wipes, then I choose the firmware and additionally gaps. I stitched. The firmware passes without problems. Reboot into the system. Everything goes for 2-3 minutes. The original screen opens and here is the problem! I choose the language and then "an error occurred in the setup application" !! And further in any way! 3 times reinstalled and three times in the error settings. Tell me what to do?

Hi,
I don't know what the problem is in your case, but what I would do is:

  • Reboot into TWRP
  • Do a factory reset and wipe system
  • Check the md5 sum of the ROM file and re-download it if necessary
  • Download an earlier gapps package, some people reported that there were problems with a recent version
  • Install the ROM
  • Install without any reboot the gapps
  • Reboot and try again

For this you will have to modify the ramdisk and delete

swapon_all /fstab.smdk4x12

in the init.target.rc.

Also, you could delete the
/dev/block/zram0

line in the fstab.
Also pegagsusq really sucks. It's biased towards battery life, and has low performance. Changing it to ondemand would be better. At least ondemand tries to keep more balance. It's extremely annoying to see my device taking 5 minutes to start up and calm down to only be somewhat-ish usable.

BTW you should change the max clock speed to 1600 MHz. Anything higher than this causes forced immediate shutdown of the device.

As for Z-RAM, it's really not necessary and actually hurts the performance as it uses more CPU resources since it has to compress and decompress programs being used... which also increases battery consumption.

I had the best stability with pegagsusq in my tests.

I had a really bad battery experience with ondemand, but everybody can change the default governour with kernel aduiator for example.
Anything higher than this causes forced immediate shutdown of the device.
This is why I've set the value to 16000 MHz.

I had this in the early stages, but people wanted that I unlock higher frequencies.
Some devices run more stable with higher values, some not, I wouldn't recommend it.

Well, people claimed because of running out of RAM and I had many last_kmsg's because of that, it was necessary, maybe not for everybody, but for most.
Maybe we would be safe if I set the device to low_ram, but then some functions would be missing like pip,
multiuser support etc.
It's not easy to make a ROM perfect for everybody ;).

For RAM it's probably better to tweak LMK, because Z-RAM kills performance.

    Hi,

here you can find my LineageOS 16.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
At first I want to thank @forkbomb444, @rINanDO, @ChronoMonochrome and all the others who are working on the exynos 4 devices, you deserve it.

I'm working nearly every day to improve our N80xx devices and here you get a already stable version.

Here you can see what's working / not working:

    N8000, N8010, N8013, N8020:
    Boot
    Audio
    Bluetooth
    Graphics
    Cameras
    Sensors
    Wifi
    USB
    Video playback (HW/SW)
    OTA Updates
    RIL N8000, N8020
    GPS, not sure if completely
Tethering via USB, WIFI and Bluetooth
    consumerir transmitter
    • Main camera sometimes can't take a picture in full resolution, you could simply reopen the app and retry, or you lower the resolution.
    TWRP

    N8000 Rom
    N8010 / N8013 Rom
    N8020 Rom

If you're having problems with decoding some videos (blurried),
this is mostly because the avc hardware decoder gets configured wrongly.

You can disable it with my magisk module:
    avc_decoder_disabler.zip

If you are going to use Gapps,
I recommend to use the pico package!
    https://opengapps.org/
For the others, you can use microG if you want, I've enabled signature spoofing.

    Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

    donate

If you don't like it, reboot into recovery and type the following command:
You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.
For both methods you need root rights.

    Wanna improve your sound configs?
Now you can use my app to access all boeffla sound configurations.

Hey, I just installed this to n8005 and you saved me from buying a new tablet. It works beyond my expectations. This is 8+ years old device after all. You are also helping environment too. Companies should do what you are doing instead of removing chargers to protect the environment. You seriously deserve donation. Have a nice day

    I'm sorry people,
because I've created a new domain wifi related,
it made some existing rules uneffective.

I'm working hard to run selinux without any neverallow rules (I'm nearly there) to provide the best security.

To get wifi working again, type with your PC or terminal emulator:

    adb shell (only with PC)
    su
    setenforce 0

and wifi will work again, there will be another update today with the new fixes.
