It´s mean flash the rom, flash the TWRP installer, go to reboot menu, change slots, reboot again to TWRP and flash Gapps and Magisk if desired.

@SubwayChamp:Thanks. I plan on booting in a temporary twrp 3.3.3-1 offain version (won't be installed as no installer - my daisy is 10.0.13.0) and flash LOS; so after the flash I need to go back to twrp reboot menu and change slots but please detail as I cannot remember a change slot option - how do you do it? I won't be flashing any gapps anyway.

I don´t know if there is a newer version than v3.3.1-0 such what you´re mentioning (3.3.3-1) there is an image to boot to it and there is an installer zip https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117887097

After to install the rom you have to flash the installer zip and then tap on reboot menu in TWRP and will appear the current slot where you are, i.e., if you are in the slot A you have to switch to slot B or viceversa, then this switch will take just 1 second, then tap on reboot option and tap on recovery, not to system yet, when device reboots to TWRP again then flash the disable force encryption, then flash if you want Magisk and it´s all.

Every phone is Chinese (even most of the Apple devices) Learn about error messages in TWRP . When you see Error 1 code -its problem with the TWRP version . The problem is not with the brand . This is an AB device with Android 1 ,it is more complicated than a usual phone. If you get another brand , but with AB partitions , it will be the same. Here we can only guide you, but you need to understand , that you need to test and test , that's what I do , same thing is with the most of the people in this site. If 3.3.3-1 offain gives you an error , use 3.3.3-1 dees_troy ,some roms are working with offain , some -with Dees_troy.Good luck!

@33cba Do you plan to further update this rom? It's really sad to see the development has stalled.

Sadly, Fabian (33bca) has moved on to develop for another phone. He has left the telegram groups for this phone.

That's a shame. Continued development of Lineage would have been great. Lineage usually seems the best option for daily driver stability.
What would be the next best ROM still being developed for the A2 Lite?

Go for Pixel Experience 9, pretty stable. Development was left to focus on Pixel Experience Q, though, but 9 is pretty solid.

Magisk is usually fine, but there were a lot of reports with it. I would suggest to use LineageSU as long as magisk still has some issues.
Please keep in mind that I wont be able to give any kind of support if there will be an issue related to root.

Did you install any apps to save battery or any mods like magisk or a custom kernel?
we will receive lineage 17?

i was banging my head against hte wall cause i couldnt get gapps to install... they installed fine without errors but they didnt appear. turns out the aroma installer will say wrong arquitecture if you download the arm64 one and the arm one wont throw any errors but wont install anything even if it says so... i ended up noticing cause i tried the pico arm64 installer and it finally worked...

idk if its the aroma installer problem or the ROM problem

Since years that Aroma installer gives fail in TWRP, anyway you can try this https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/issues/503

you mean the one mounting system and UNchecking "Mount system write protected? The problem is that in my case it said wrong architecture with the arm64 installer, not that it had any writing error.

I cant try again since twrp cannot decrypt encryption without erasing data, so Ill keep it like this for now. And Id rather have it encrypted.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    GPL compliance:

    yG18r6g.png

    Working:
    • Camera (and flashlight)
    • WiFi
    • Bluetooth
    • Telephony (Calls and Data)
    • Audio (Record and Playback)
    • Video Playback
    • Sensors
    • GPS
    • HW crypto
    • OTA Updater
    • SELinux Enforcing

    Broken:
    • Tell me, there will always be something..

    Compatibility:
Compatible with all Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite variants.
Builds are based off the Xiaomi's Android 9 firmware.

    Downloads:

    Notice:
    • No custom kernels are supported in this thread. Only stock kernel and official builds will be supported. No bug reports if that's not the case.

    Installation:
    • Boot recovery from fastboot (TWRP recovery for Mi A2 Lite)
    • Format/Wipe /system and /data
    • Install LineageOS zip package
    • Install [optional] TWRP flashable
Don't forget to change slots after installing the rom in TWRP!
You have to reboot TWRP to the "new" slot to install GApps!

    Important notes:
    • * Required * firmware version must be based on P-based builds.
    • GApps can only be flashed on clean installs.
    • Formatting/Wiping data (all user data is wiped, including internal storage (in case of a format)) is a must if you were using a different rom previously.
