As of today, 9 years ago, Samsung announced this device. It's absolutely incredible to think that I am posting this from that very model and it's running the latest version of Android. Thank you so much for the work you're putting into this device. Even though my device's hardware is startig to fail, with the screen flashing and fading and the speakers being almost entirely broken, I'm still excited to see what you'll be releasing next! It's absolutely amazing how this device is even more up to date than many current Samsung tablets... Goes to show how much can be done with proper software updates! :D

EDIT: And I should mention that so far the ROM has been perfect, with remarkably good performance given that I'm running it without GApps.

There are too many updates to android 9 but few updates to android 11. Please get more updates to android 11. ANDROID 11 has problems.
1-) 10 seconds after turning off the tablet, the tablet turns on again.
2-) Tablet sometimes reboots itself.
3-) Battery drains a little fast. I hope the battery life can be increased with the updates.
4-) After 20 minutes of taking the tablet to sleep, lines and circles appear on the tablet.
5-) I hope you bring an update in your spare time. THANK YOU.

This ROM is alpha, nobody can force me to bring any updates,
I'm doing this in my freetime, so be thankful if you get something.

I will proceed here as soon as I will have time, I didn't have LOS16.0 completed and I'm working hard to provide you a stable ROM.
LOS 16.0 is our major version, on LOS18.1 is much more work todo and much more framework hackings to get LOS18.1 as good compatible as possible.

I'm overtaking many things I make for LOS16.0 to 18.1, but this take's time.
I hate it if I get stressed, so please be patent or do it by your own,
this takes really much time, debugging, try things and so on.

Thanks for your job and your patience, thanks to that we can still use our old tablets.

Take the time you need

Despite popular belief, asking for ETAs is not against the XDA forum rules. But, it can definitely be considered bad forum etiquette.

And since the awesome developers on our great forum mainly do this stuff on their spare time and then graciously share their work with the rest of us, the last thing we want is to stress them with nagging about updates.

@html6405 Have made their stance on these kind of posts very clear so there will be no more ETA posts in their threads.

Thank you for your attention.

Holy crap dude! This is freaking AWESOME!!!! I picked up a really nice condition N8013 and a case last December for $20 because, well, they are great gadgets and well, $20, it was pretty much forced on me! I think these things are worth WAY more even in stock form. My only complaint about them is that Android 5 has been abandoned for so long that even the basics like playing YouTube videos is now broken. Not because the tablet can't do it, but because the software can't. So imagine my delight when I saw that Android 9 was available! Well, I'm a bit slow on projects and I have lots of irons in the fire, so I didn't go find a proper data cable to flash it until a few days ago. So imagine my delight, again, at finding Android 11 is now a real thing! Amazing!!!!! You deserve a CASE of beers, and I'm gonna pony up asap! I am seriously grateful for your work because in my case, being able to use such an old but still amazing piece of technology is exactly what I need for several of my projects. Even if you never produce another line of code for this tablet, the work you've done is, idk the words to use, but you care more about the user base of this device than SAMSUNG does! And you don't make anything off of it! Mad props dude!

Ok. I've got this installed, and it's certainly useable. I've had a few random reboots that I think I can blame on a cpu stats app, but frankly, I'm impressed still. The only issue I'm having so far is that I can't seem to change the wallpaper. I downloaded one and when I chose it, I see the wallpaper changer app show the preview briefly, then it reverts back to the stock one. I resized it to match the tablet screen resolution and no joy. I'm gonna find where the wallpaper is and drop mine in that folder and see if that'll work. But overall, this rocks.

Hey @html6405, firstly - thank you for so kindly sharing your builds with us! I've left a small contribution on your PayPal as a token of appreciation.

I've just flashed the March n8010 release on top of the January release (don't forget to wipe dalvik cache + reinstall gapps) and it works great so far.

Is there a public repo where you are hosting your source? There's a 'Advanced Restart' feature under Developer Options in Settings that I've seen on other LineageOS builds for other devices. If so, I wouldn't mind having a go at implementing it (it'd be a small quality of life improvement when trying to reboot directly into recovery).

Never mind - was playing around and it turns out that it's possible to use Magisk to reboot to Download Mode and Recovery! Looks more reliable than my dodgy power button + Vol keys, so I'm pretty happy. :D

    Hi,

here you can find my preview build version of LineageOS 18.1 for our Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 devices.
At first I want to thank @forkbomb444, @rINanDO, @ChronoMonochrome for all your work which helped me a lot to bring this up.

This is a early BETA build, so don't install it if you want a completley stable rom and don't report my already listet bugs!

I'm working nearly every day on our N80xx devices, because LOS18 runs much smoother than LOS17.1, I will continue here.

When you have BitGapps installed, you have to reflash them after every update!

Here you can see how far everything is working for now.

    N8000, N8010, N8013, N8020:
    • Boot
    • Audio
    • Bluetooth
    • Graphics
    • Cameras
    • Sensors
    • Wifi
    • GPS
    • USB
    • Video playback (HW/SW)
    • Tethering via USB, WIFI and Bluetooth
    • consumerir transmitter
    • Stylus with gestures and hovering icon
    • sec keyboard dock
    • RIL on N8000 (mobile connection)
    • much more...
    • Screen Cast, Chromecast did work, Samsung TV not
    • Main camera sometimes can't take a picture (reopen app or lower resolution)
    • Random reboots
    • N8020: RIL works 90%
    • Screen lightning bug, nearly eliminated
    • SD-Card can't be formatted as internal storage, this will cause a bootloop
You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.
For both methods you need root rights.
If you are going to use Gapps,
    here you can download them:
    Open Gapps
For the others, you can use microG in future.

    Do you like my work?
Than you can simply hit the thanks button and consider to spend me a coffee or a beer,
I'm doing this in my free time and it also costs a lot of money to buy hardware.

    donate

    Wanna improve your sound configs?
Now you can use my app to access all boeffla sound configurations.
