Hi,

here you can find my preview build version of LineageOS 18.1 for our Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 devices.
At first I want to thank @forkbomb444, @rINanDO, @ChronoMonochrome for all your work which helped me a lot to bring this up.

This is a preview build, so don't install it if you want a stable rom and don't report my already listet bugs!

I'm working nearly every day on our N80xx devices, because LOS18 runs much smoother than LOS17.1, I will continue here.

When you have BitGapps installed, you have to reflash them after every update!

Here you can see how far everything is working for now.

Spoiler: How to improve GPS

You could use a gps.conf from https://app.box.com/s/w57s1v1n3hie7l5lk28i for your location and replace /system/etc/gps.conf.
Or you try GPS Server Optimizer app for a faster 3D fix.
For both methods you need root rights.

If you are going to use Gapps,

For the others, you can use microG in future.

some question, is there any way to disable the shystem that force close background app? i had termux opened , after 1hr or smthng it got fore closed, the termux notification also disappeared from the notification bar after it somehow got force closed

Did you disable the battery optimization for this app?

The button should work and still generate a back event and should be able to be used for gestures.

it seems to be a problem with the application manager, it would kill the app after i opened a few apps which (might be) causing a high ram usage and ended up making the app manager forceclosing the oldest app one that r still active, and in this case its my termux

You could try to higher:

ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit

in the system.prop.

I tried different brands of sdcards with different capacities,
they can work normally in portable storage mode,
but when i chose use sdcard for extra tablet storage ,
the n8000 will Black screen after formatting 40% and Keep restarting until I pull out the sdcard ,
and keep restarting after inserting the sdcard.
I had torepartition the sdcard with pc to terminate this........


Sometimes when I plug in the charging cable and press the power cable,
the screen only shows gray stripes and apertures,
it will recover after Unplug the charging cable a few seconds,
I can feeling that the touch function is working properly throughout the process


and how to root LineageOS 18.1 ?
I saw on the Internet saying that use Magisk and fastboot to root Android 11 os,
but this n8000 only has Odin mode , no fastboot mode , how to flash img file.....

Over the weekend, I did the installation with 18, and no GAPPS... It was rather unstable and, since I am really new at this, I was unable to be to be without the Google stuff. I went for 17 and, again, very unstable. I installed GAPPs nano, but at some point the tablet entered some weird loop of rebooting and rebooting. I bricked the thing at that point. I brought it back to life, and then I tried 16 and some of the small GAPPs installation. It is very good. I only have some issues with the camera, which I do not really need and some with certain interactive *.pdf which force the sudden shut down of Adobe reader, but not the entire system.
I am really thankful. I love my S GT-N8010 tablet even if I only use it for reading. Far larger screen than cell or even a Kindle reader.

it has not gone away,all my problem happened to lineage-18.1-20210428-HTML6405-n8000 version
but it's okay, this os is still very comfortable to use

now i installed magisk,
but don't know how to use magisk_patched_n8000.img,
is it the prerooted boot.img ?

I went for 17 and, again, very unstable.

You just have to read, 17 was only a test version, 18 will be more and more usable, but it's still alpha.

I only have some issues with the camera, which I do not really need and some with certain interactive *.pdf which force the sudden shut down of Adobe reader, but not the entire system.

Adobe reader is not compatible with our LineageOS ROM's, this affects all exynos4 devices,
but there are many other readers you can use.

LineageOS 16.0 should be good for the next years , there will be also still updates from my side and LOS 18.1 will also improve with the time .

Please don't, this is an old prerooted Kernel, I should delete this,
just flash the magisk.apk in TWRP.

and never thought it was an invalid old file and Stupidly looking for a solution online.
you say that just files you forgot to delete........
I downloaded a new magisk from the official website and it works perfectly now

I set the system navigation to gesture navigation mode,
found it affects the (back/forward gesture) function of the via browser
Cause the via browser loses the forward gesture function
It also triggers the back gesture when swiping on the right side of the screen
