Update 26.10.2021:

• Fixed modem crash issue in Kernel, the connection still get's lost sometimes and you still have to reset the APN settings after every boot, I'm working on this...

Update 05.11.2021:

N8000 & N8010:

• Synced with latest LOS sources (Security patch level 01.10.2021)
• Fixed GPS week rollover issue
• Included overlay for mouse icon and used it for the S-PEN, let me know what you think about, I could revert this in the next update

Hmm strange, I've just reseted my n8000 to check this and I had no problems.
The second screen look's like this on my device:

and the third screen:

I can setup it normally.
Do you have an n8000?

Thanks for your quick reply! I use N8000. Here my screen capture. As you see, there is no skip button, I used your LOS 16 and it worked fine. But with 18.1 i cant skip SIM request step.

Ok and did you do a clean installation?
If not, this behaviour would be expected.

EDIT:

I've found out that this happens without gapps installed, when the LineageOS setup wizard is used... I will check this.

I did clean install, wipe everything, i didn't install gapps.

Thats the thing, why I didn't got this problem.
You simply could download an older version and upgrade afterwards,
or just wait until I've fixed the setup wizard.

LineageOS overworked this, there are many commits, one of them broke the skip button, I will fix this and push a new update...

First up, a big thanks for this sterling piece of development. We have two 8013s and to bring some life back to them is just excellent.

I loaded the previous September release and gapps with odin/twrp and have just used OTA to 05.11.21. I have to say all very good with some really minor exceptions. I get the odd app crashing out and have seen the screen halo effect, including seeing it go away without a reboot. All in all nothing that's terminal or detracts from getting daily use with up to date apps. So very good indeed..

That said, I use a couple of augmented reality apps and I have noticed the compass is really unreliable. Like it is fine one moment and then like its not there at all or 180deg out. That's on both releases I've tried and both 8013 tablets. Sensor tests all come back fine. Calibration makes no odds. Any clues on that one would be appreciated.

you're right, the compass doesn't work really well, especially when you're using a case.

Maybe I could improve the hal a little bit, but my time is very limited, every help is appreciated.

We can only accept the result. sometimes the Bottom developers don't care about the feelings of subsequent developers and users.
I’m not sure "bottom developers" is a description accurate, just like EdXposed is angrily stopped updating because of Riru's API changes, users forced to try LSPosed.
