The pros are that once the data partition is rooted, only those who have the password will be able to access your personal data. This is useful if your phone is lost or stolen. The cons are that you can no longer wipe cache and dalvik/cache via TWRP because recovery cannot read data partition. To get around this I use this app:What are the pros and cons of encrypting a phone?
Particular interest in the cons.
In another context it has been discussed that hiding the Magisk app (by renaming it to a random package name) and the TWRP tree in storage (by also renaming it) may additionally require renaming of the "survival script" in /system/addon.d/Rooting the phone for this fix, would result in many bank and work apps not working (even with zygisk, work apps detect root), so tryin to leave it as is as.
Hey everyone and @Ivan_Meler,
I was wondering if any of you are experiencing significant battery drain? I'm finding that this ROM drain battery rapidly despite being so light. I'm going to try running a completely light build with no Gapps soon but I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing in the meantime. Thank you for anyone who has some insight.
As far as I'm aware, never. Is it on by default?
This is awesone news Ivan, is the lower power cpu state similar to Samsungs 70% cpu power or a lot less?New build is up with few new changes
- Added QR code reader quick settings toggle
- Improved device performance and stability
- Added Custom low power mode power profile for cpu
- Improved A-GNSS (A-GPS) Lock speed
- Exposed device hw revision to settings
- Improved fast/slow charger detection
- Synced with LineageOS source
As always big thanks to everyone who supported this project so far as their donations help cover the build server cost and get me coffee which keeps me up while working on this project.
Expect builds with even more improvements in near future as im testing some exciting changes right now.
Enjoy new build and stay safe
Oh it disables 2 big cores and does some other tweaks so yeah something like thatThis is awesone news Ivan, is the lower power cpu state similar to Samsungs 70% cpu power or a lot less?
Thank you for still maintaining our devices on a regular basis, your devotion to helping others is quite remarkable.
Massive thank you Ivan for your continued support & hope you have a great birthday tomorrow!Since my birthday is tomorrow I decided to release a little surprise build. Here is a brief changelog:
- Updated libexynosdisplay from BSP to comply with some android 12 changes
- Removed unused build.prop entries
- Fixed few selinux denials related to hwc props
- Improved UI performance and stability
- Cleaned up source
- Removed more unneeded patches for device support
- Synced with LineageOS source
Im aware of Seedvault issue curently present and im working on a fix for it.
I wanted to release something as a gift from me to everyone using this rom and supporting this project throughout the years. Keeping older phones alive and up to date is really fun hobby and I don't think I would've kept doing it if it wasnt for all of the support from the comunity.
Once again big thanks to everyone who helped cover the build serve cost and coffee.

Fingerprint sensor works on my S7Edge. I use of for opening and closing device. Opening apps that accept FP input ...Great ROM , very stable . only question i have Is if the fingerprint sensor working in the ROM or is it just my phone that's broken? Also does anybody have a link to a compatible GCAM package.
Thanks![]()
Damn, it was working before I flashed but now its dead, everything else works perfectly, is there anything I can check / wipe or reinstall to regain finger print sensor function, reading some other people with same problem they say you need to flash Roms in stages, I flashed directly from Oreo (I think) should I have flashed to Pie or 10 before Lineage 19Fingerprint sensor works on my S7Edge. Hello,Hello
First and foremost thanks for the dev for the development progress
I will be taking part in testing this as much as I can
I wanted to inquire if anyone else has their Wi-Fi disconnected at random, mostly if the phone is left laying with its screen off
I noticed it as it interferes with music streaming
But then again, it could be an issue of my S7 Edge...
well there is no volte so its expected for data to switch from 4g to 3g or even 2g in call, if it didnt happen you would have no ability to make/recieve voice calls at allSo!
I have found an oddity which might trace to our call quality issue.
Could anyone else please confirm that sending/receiving a call immediately switches the connected network in the internet settings from 4G to 3G? I assume of course there will be some or many for which this doesn't happen (e.g. don't have data, don't have 4G, etc.), so I would be extra interested to hear from those suffering from poor call quality.
For me this is easiest to see by pulling down the notification shade and then hold-tapping the internet icon. It will open you to the "wifi" settings page but it also shows the network connection if you have a data plan. For me it says "4G", then when I get a call it drops to "3G".
...That can't be right, hm?
