Use 12.1.0 version 1.0, 1.1 seems to be buggy for some users

It would be great to have logcat in addition for video.

9. Wipe data and reboot to recovery
10. Flash magisk and reboot to the system
11. Properly setup the magisk and reboot
12. make config file for the bitgapps to install it systemless
13. install bitgapps in the magisk
14. reboot and grant network access for Play Store and Google Play Services in app settings

Well, it worked for me just last week with the latest LineageOS 19.1, bitgapps, magisk and twrp.

Thank you for advice, but i not understand well;

1) @Ivan_Meler said in the article (not try to boot before flashing the gapps) but you say flash rom, flash magisk, then boot.
2) also how to make a config file for BitGApps ?
3) Can bitgapps flashable in Magisk Manager ?

Have a nice day.

Indeed, on their channel on Telegram (BiTGApps Downloads) they (TheHitMan) wrote yesterday,
We also aware of mount bug (for some) in v1.1 release but i don't want to push any update in hurry, I will take my full time. However you can still use v1.0, that mounting issue will likely to fix in v1.3 release. If you want to test fixes before official release, Join support chat @bitgapps_officlal

1) Flash ROM, !!!FORMAT DATA!!!!, reboot TWRP, flash magisk) The same is said in first post: to format data if you wish to flash gapps afterwards)
2) Using their app, for example, and putting it to the "root" (basically where Downloads and other folders resides) of the internal storage.
3) Yes, they made that way =)

You too)))

without wipping data. (over the nikgapps)
No, you need only a clean flash. Otherwise it won`t work.

booom. stucks at twrp logo. restart not works.
reflashed twrp tar file with odin. nothing changed.

god damn me.! 😡😡😡😡😡

@Mad Bob @Ex novo @Ivan_Meler Here is an update:

1 - Backed Up Internal Storage to my PC.
2 - "Format Data" in twrp, confirmed "type yes" then enter.
3 - Rebooted to Recovery.
4 - It shows a message "allow modification" swiped right and allowed modification.
5 - Wiped in twrp.
6 - Advanced Wipe > System
7 - Nothing left in my interna storage, data, system, cache, dalvik.
8 - Flashed the ROM, (without error)
9 - Flashed Magisk 25.2 (without error)
10 - Flashed "BiTGApps-arm64-12.1.0-v1.1_signed.zip" (error: "cannot mount system")
11 - Tried "BiTGApps-arm64-12.0.0-v1.1_signed.zip" (error: "cannot mount system")

i am so sad now. 150 apps should be installed from the scratch.
omg. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😢😢

Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
Have a nice day. Sincerely.

Edit: and after clean install, (ofcorse booted after NikGapps only possible) fingerprint issue persist. even i did not change the language to my native language not touched anything on first setup. 🤦‍♀️
The order of flashing is I believe
Flash the ROM do NOT allow the system to restart, flash the gapps.

Welcome to flashing:
1) stock image via odin
2) twrp
3) repeating all over again...
--
Seems you did something wrong or in a wrong order... That's the only case.
p.s.: was there a few times...

No, the first time of soft brick. i flashed lots of smartphones.
But, i did not understand, if it will not boot to recovery without installed rom, why the twrp lets me to reboot to recovery? why is not it grayed out or else.

Actually i not forced the device with power botton to reset just used the twrp menu option.

This means, phones are smart but the developers not smart enough.

Sorry.

And PLEASE anyone provide "What is the perfectly true order to flash procedure"

I am so sad now. maybe return to stock oreo rom again. and i am done with aosp roms. forever.

Why are you flashing Magisk.
AFTER installing the ROM, and without rebooting flash your gapps.
Setup the phone.
Download and intall the magisk app.
Then open the ROM zip and extract the boot.img file and put it somewhere accessible (download/is usually good).
Run through the Magisk install, the module install will ask for the boot image you saved.
The result should the boot image, plus a modified and renamed image.
Reboot into TWRP and flash the modified boot image.
Restart system

You will need to install Foxes Mmm app in order access third party Magisk modules.
Note: I do not recommend using some add-ons/modules as they are closed source.

@Ivan_Meler says flash gapps after rom then reboot.

you say flash rom > boot device > setup phone > install magisk manager app > etc.

i will try untill my device go bad like unrecoverable.

and will reply here for everyone.

no one explained officially. but everyone gives different suggestion. different way.
now my device bricked.
very interesting.

Note: waiting to download finnish stock firmware.

I really enjoy the actual version of this Rom beside one thing: after a while (for about 15 minutes) wifi loses its connection. In that state no essid can be found until its switched off and on again.

Does anybody encounter similar problems?

I use NikGApps which seem to work well for me.
However I was looking through the install configuration file and noticed a couple of entries, digitalwellbeing & devicehealthservices.
Are these worth having on my device or can/should I
A) NOT install them
B) If installed are they worth removing.
TIA

Here we go, November security update is out
    - Merged November 2022. Security update
    - Cleaned up patches list
    - Synced with LineageOS source

Some of you might have noticed that there were not any updates after security update, I had a lot going on in personal life and havent had time for android unfortunately hopefully that changes soon so i can finish up few more things that need to be sorted on s7.
On another note updated 18.1 and 17.1 builds will likely be out in a few days
Huge thanks for everyone who supported this project so far as their donations help cover the build server cost.
Enjoy new builds and stay safe.

As I'm having the echo problem in calls like many here I changed some mixer_paths settings and this one for me greatly reduced the echo in normal calls (on speakerphone the echo continues). Haven't tested it with headphones because don't use them. If anyone wants to try, I used X-plore file explorer with root access but any other file explorer should work. First go to Root/vendor/etc, copy mixer_paths_0 to clipboard and save in another place like downloads for example to serve as a backup and be able to revert the change. Then copy the modified file to the same location to replace the original. Restart the device and test.

    -

Keep in mind that some LineageOS features have not been completed yet this is not a device bug and please do not report those
in this rom thread, also do not post bug reports for known issues or bug reports without proper
    a) Logcat
    b) proc/last_kmsg (or proc/kmsg)
    c) data/tombstones
    d) dmesg

Install gapps right after installing the rom itself don't try to boot to system before that if you want to use gapps (Or wipe data before installing them)

Make sure gapps you decide to use support android 12L/12.1/Are targetting api level 32
Also make sure you are using latest official TWRP before installing rom older versions do not have proper android 12 support

If you want to use Magisk use latest Magisk Beta (25.0) or Magisk 24.1, there is bug in 24.3 that was fixed after its release that prevents zygisk from working on some devices with 3.18 kernel

After a long wait, here it is, Surprisingly smooth android 12 on s7
check out screenshots here Big thanks to everyone who supported this project so far as they helped cover the build server cost and got me coffee for hours spent debbuging weird issues
enjoy android 12 and stay safe
    21
Well here are some progress update of whats happening behind the scenes.
Ive given 4.4 kernel from 8895 another go and got even further in porting it to 8890 devices this time around.
Mali drivers are ported so is decon (display and graphics stack is up)
I also managed to port audio drivers, buttons and their backlight.
UFS storage drivers were somewhat pain but i got them to work too
and there is tons of small stuff like fp sensor, thermal driver and misc

Tho im not sure it makes too much sense to do this as 4.4 kernel is eol too at least it has full bpf support which i got working on 8895 devices
Other than that there is not too much going on right now, There are few selinux policies that will have to be dealt with and im still dealing with audio config
tho i could only notice echo and not robotic voice some people noticed so that leads me to believe it could be related to weird modem missmatches

I might release another quick build this month with few audio related improvements
No etas as i do this in my free time, And as always thanks to everyone who supported this project so fat as thanks to them this project and device are still alive on latest android version even 6 years after its release (fun fact s7 series was announced on 21. feb. 2016.) so this is somewhat of a s7 birthday update on progress
    17
