thanks for the update. but now my phone becoming sluggish, slow performance even for scrolling lag all the time.
is there any option to improve performance? or any tips maybe

the ROM is great. Is there any ETA to get an official build by Lineage OS? I can pay for this, as I would like to use my S8+ as a daily driver instead of buying a new phone and contributing to pollution of the planet.

Enabling "Disable HW overlays" in developer options makes it better. Apparently HWC is still not working properly
but amazing ROM still, thanks Ivan!!

Hi. i have been encountering the same lag here. clean flashed and the only module installed is quickswitch (experienced before installing module too). I hope the log helps.

Persisting in this latest release, long press home button area will wake the phone - despite being switched off in settings. (S8 G950F)
Another small update is out
- Improved LMKD behavior
- Improved power hal behaviour and performance boosting
- Tuned surfaceflinger behavior
- Improved ui performance further
- Fixed more keystore issues
- Synced with LineageOS source
as for some people complaining of performance issues in ui, make sure you are not touching animation scale as android 12 really doesnt like that (try doing it on device that has stock a12 and you will notice same behavior)
I ran jitter test with hwc enabled and disabled and values were 2 times lower with hwc enabled (you could check it by disabling hw overlays and enabling profile hwui rendering as bars on screen)
(Since I sitll dont have properly functional s8 here debugging stuff like this is way harder)

Latest update seems to have fixed the UI lag issue 
I'm thinking maybe you uploaded the wrong build before 
Edit: UI lag is still present, it comes and goes animations are stock, UI isn't jittering it's like it's moving in slow mo

Same here. I haven't touched scale settings and I wouldn't say that there's jittering, but it looks like the UI is rendered at a lower frame rate. Sometimes, it's slower as well (meaning that the UI reacts more slowly, even when accounting the lower frame rate).Latest update seems to have fixed the UI lag issue

As @bipolarjunkie said, it comes and goes. When not laggy, the UI is way smoother than before. But it can be laggy at times, and I don't think it has to do with performance intensive tasks. I don't play any games, and the most demanding task I do perform is watching the ocasional YouTube video.

For those of you complaining about lag, maybe you can upload a quick screen grab or something showing the actual behaviour and if there are any particular patterns you notice when it's happening (or not)?
Diagnosing 'performance lag' and 'sometimes slower' is nearly impossible in my opinion. Especially when @Ivan_Meler doesn't even have a working device to test builds on.
That said, I did notice some lag initially right after updating, but that seems to be the case for me after every update (caching I guess?)..
However, battery life is sooo much better now, like I got another day! I did decide to downscale the dpi though because of previous battery drain and overheating when using WhatsApp video chat, so that may help?
This turned a lot longer than I intended

What I could do was set HWUI rendering to display on screen and compare results with HW overlays enabled and then disabled. That, at least, I could screen capture, as attached.
Also, how did you accomplish to dowscale DPI?
Edit: I just noticed my screenshots show that Battery Saver is on, but the results are the same when it's turned off or charging.

28here it is August security update
Nothing major in this one as i am still working behind the scenes on that huge update i talked about previously which involves rewrite of almost whole graphics and media stack (its almost finished but i still have to do a bit more testing just to make sure there is no regression)
(Im still waiting for a properly working s8/n8 listing to show up on ebay thats not overpriced so i can use it for testing as my s8 has messed up display and unfortunately import from UK turned out to be more expensive than s8 would be worth)
In other news android 13 should be released next month and since there were no major changes s8 and note8 should be running it soon after release with not too many issues and ill try to take a few days off from work to get it up and running on it once source is out
Once again huge thanks to everyone who supported this project, helped cover build server cost and got me coffee with donations.
This project wouldnt be alive without them as i do this in my free time as a hobby.11

It is a stable and good rom and I use LineageOS as my daily driver , for your questions:
1 Safetynet is NOT passed by default, you still need Magisk. I am not aware of any Android 11 or 12 rom for the S8 that does this have this function out of the box without Magisk (with Magisk it is working great by the way).
2 My battery is good and I do not have any issues, there are still some major improvements expected like HWC support. But I have better battery life on Lineage than on Stock.
3 Haven't had any heat issues.
For me LinaeageOS 19.1 for S8 is the perfect rom, but I do not know if this is the case for you, as mentioned by requirement 1. I hope this helps making a decision for you.

No, I have Revolut installed and working. It showed up just fine in the Play Store for me. No apps have complained about anything actually. I installed it via TWRP along with the GApps package from the OP. Other than missing a few options from the stock ROM (like screen resolution and flashlight brightness), I've had zero problems. The phone is also way snappier than it was with the stock ROM. Firefox in particular ran like a two-legged dog before I switched. It's still not quite as buttery smooth as it is on my Poco F3, but it's not far off now. As for the camera, I chose to install IDan's GCam build. Works like a charm.

I was previously using an /e/ rom with ~3 days of battery life if left idle. With this rom my battery only drains 10-15% per day if my phone isn't used much, giving me around 6 days before really needing to charge my phone. This is great for someone like me who doesn't use it much. Cheers! -

Keep in mind that some LineageOS features have not been completed yet this is not a device bug and please do not report those
in this rom thread, also do not post bug reports for known issues or bug reports without proper

Install gapps right after installing the rom itself don't try to boot to system before that if you want to use gapps (Or wipe data before installing them)
Since most gapps didnt update for 12L yet (SDK bumped from 31 to 32) i edited falmegapps and uploaded them here use them if you cant find gapps that work on 12L https://mega.nz/folder/FFoS1IIK#XunGRNTViQY7-OZ8oQr0sg
Make sure gapps you decide to use support android 12L/12.1/Are targetting api level 32
Make sure you are using latest official TWRP before installing rom older versions do not have proper android 12 support

If you want to turn off auto live display (Yellow tint) type "Live" in settings search and go to LiveDisplay28I havent posted an actual progress update in quite some time so here is some behind the scenes.
- First of all selinux, that is actually being worked on and it should be supported in near future (Tho it needs some testing to make sure things dont break)
- Kernel upstream and full eBPF support, thats on its way too so we wont need any hacks to make bpf work anymore which is a nice bonus + we will be able to use some nice new features like gpu monitoring which requires eBPF
- HWC This is a big one, without revealing too much there is big progress on this behind the scenes and while it does require quite a bit of work once this is sorted we will have much better battery life and UI will be waaay smoother (2x increase at least), this and few other hals will be open sourced too once this is nearly finished so no more proprietary blobs for it
- Keystore will also be looked into a bit further to see if there are edge cases left where some secure apps break
- OMX again without going into too much details we will see some changes on that end and it will be open sourced
- Camera, well ill just let this one be a surprise for now since it will require most work
Some other small notes since s8 i use to develop this rom on has broken screen (i use scrcpy to mirror screen on pc) im actually still looking into getting 8895 device, Someone offered to send one from UK but since im in EU ill have to look into import tax and stuff caused by brexit which is not fun to deal with.
And finally HUGE thanks to everyone who supported this project and helped cover the build server cost, thius project really wouldnt be possible without them, They also covered the coffee cost and some stuff like recent keystore fixes really took a long time to debug which indeed required a lot of coffee at night haha.28Since my birthday is tomorrow I decided to release a little surprise build. Here is a brief changelog:
- Updated libexynosdisplay from BSP to comply with some android 12 changes
- Removed unused build.prop entries
- Fixed few selinux denials related to hwc props
- Improved UI performance and stability

Im aware of Seedvault issue curently present and im working on a fix for it.
I wanted to release something as a gift from me to everyone using this rom and supporting this project throughout the years. Keeping older phones alive and up to date is really fun hobby and I don't think I would've kept doing it if it wasnt for all of the support from the comunity.
