I am having same problem installing Gapps on my Essential PH-1. Here is what I did.
@Ivan_Meler please advise whether and how gapps can be reinstalled to support Andorid auto, which gapps should be used? Thank you for support.I am having same problem installing Gapps on my Essential PH-1. Here is what I did.
I used LinageOS 19.1 nightly and Linage recovery image
I rebooted into recovery image and formated/wiped the disk
I installed LinageOS 91.1 nightly
I installed Gapp
rebooted and there were no Google apps and the camera said it needed "Google Play Services"
I tried MindTheGapps 12.1.0
open_gapps 11.0 stock
All gave same results on Google apps and camera error
I've never seen a "plus" option there, I don't think LineageOS supports the "functionality" that you seem to need.
thanks, i'll take a look at those. The plus is for adding a VPN connection. This feature was still there in LOS 18, as it is in every other OS.I've never seen a "plus" option there, I don't think LineageOS supports the "functionality" that you seem to need.
But I can help with offering working alternatives to that native unsupported behavior.
Search VPN on f-droid.org
I don't know what type of VPN you'd need, but the most common ones are openvpn and wireguard.
The openvpn official app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.openvpn.openvpn
The better openvpn semi-official app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.blinkt.openvpn
Both are open-source.
thats intended behavior since android 11 thanks to scoped storeage, apps shouldn't be able access whole storage except ones that explicity require it for functionality like file managers and instead need to request folder they need to access
No, I have Revolut installed and working. It showed up just fine in the Play Store for me. No apps have complained about anything actually. I installed it via TWRP along with the GApps package from the OP. Other than missing a few options from the stock ROM (like screen resolution and flashlight brightness), I've had zero problems. The phone is also way snappier than it was with the stock ROM. Firefox in particular ran like a two-legged dog before I switched. It's still not quite as buttery smooth as it is on my Poco F3, but it's not far off now. As for the camera, I chose to install IDan's GCam build. Works like a charm.
I just tested usb mouse and few other accessories with samsungs original oth adapyer and it seems to work fine, friend of mine also tested native usb c ethernet adapter and that worked fine tooAwesome work!
Really appreciate the effort you put into this.
On another note, I noticed that the USB-C port doesn't work for anything other than charging.
I can connect a mouse, keyboard or flash-drive, but it isn't recognized by the system, and doesn't seem to work. (Worked fine on stock ROM)
Has anyone come across this issue as well?
Hmm, I just tested both a USB drive and a USB mouse again and neither worked (on today's build).
