LineageOS 20.0 (Android 13) [Signature Spoofing][OTA updates] for S7 Exynos

This doesn't seem to be a stable build, you call it "Signature Spoofing", what do you mean by that?

Signature Spoofing is a feature required by a very popular open source app called microG, which allows the user to use apps that require google services without actually having to use google apps.
There is a very clear explanation of signature spoofing here, but be aware that signature spoofing is a contentious feature, and the blog post linked is opinionated.

I heared about microG but didn't know it's releated to signature spoofing.

So signaturespoofing is mandatory for using microG ?
Anyway, i preffer not to use microG, nothing from google at all is the best choice... (opinionated i guess...)

So will all the future builds be called signatue spoofing instead of alpha beta WIP or stable?
I asume, it will say somewhere if the build is stable or not anyway?
I'm on LOS 19.1 was thinking to update to 20.0

No the stock lineage camera supports only 1080p. If you relay on camera the samsung stock rom is always the best choice in terms of quality

Well, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a hardware bug in the WiFi, so that on some S7 it drops.

Same with my Samsung Galaxy S7.

Its not a problem of LineageOS, its a hardware problem in the S7, what was present on some S7 also when using the StockROM.

Hello,
as far as I know, Ivan's (@Ivan_Meler) sources are also used by Exodusnick for his microG version of LOS. I am still looking for a solution to the echo problem that exists from LOS 17 onwards at least for a part of the S7 devices, so I did a file comparison (all files with "audio" or "mixer" in the name) between LOS 16 and LOS 20.

Unfortunately, I know far too little about Android. But maybe a developer can see a possible cause for the echo problem from the differences in the files, which we can then work on further. For example, I am surprised that the file audio.primary.universal8890.so is missing under .../hw/lib64/, although the S7 has a 64-bit OS (at least I think so).

I would be happy if someone takes the time to have a quick look at the comparison. Maybe we have overlooked something quite obvious so far.

I think it's such a pity that because of the echo you can't use all the new ROMs in everyday life and have to stay with LOS16.

sorry to say but that comparison of files you did is completely pointless and useless, trust me if it was as easy as comparing files somebody wouldve done it

dont you think comparing binary files where source for every file is available is a bit counter intuitive, let alone the fact you didnt compare actual files and just their existance and that you didnt even compare actual audio effect files, i really didnt want to have to explain this for i dont know which time but you were sort of pushing it

Any ideas or ETA on when encryption may be implemented? I may have to downgrade to LineageOS 19 for the sake of a few apps required by work until such time.

- Cleaned up patches source
- Synced with LineageOS source

Some of you might have noticed that there were not any updates after security update, I had a lot going on in personal life and havent had time for android unfortunately hopefully that changes soon so i can finish up few more things that need to be sorted on s7.
On another note updated 19.1, 18.1 and 17.1 builds will likely be out next week
Huge thanks for everyone who supported this project so far as their donations help cover the build server cost.

- Cleaned up patches used for non-BPF kernel
- Performance stability and battery life improvements
- Synced with LineageOS source

To everyone who is facing the issue of apps not opening, I isolated the cause to be formatting SD card as internal storage. Right now you can only use SD card as portable storage.

In LOS 19.1 this works properly, and just this feature makes the S7 with its low internal storage really usable.

So, actually myself I cannot change to LOS 20.0, because I really need this feature (SD card be formatted as internal storage).

Well when i remember correctly Android scratched the possibility to use an sd card as internal storage or changed some internal stuff that broke it on Android 13.
If it was easy to fix ivan would do it.
Remember he is doing it as an hobby and has probally other prioteries

As working long time in the IT, I know really good, what a tremendous great work @Ivan_Meler is doing.

My Samsung Galaxy S7 with LOS 19.1 (Android 12) works properly with an SD card formatted as internal storage, and I do not know about, that in Android 13 the manufacturer (Google) has changed that.

I am also very sure, that Ivan really knows by his own, what to do and when to do, and furthermore, as a grown up man he really does not need a warranting spokesperson.
