I'm not so sure about this argument. Granted the A9 is not a popular device. But there is a developer after all and I'd guess that most of the A9 users have upgraded to the 2.x firmware by now. By not porting to the new kernel version anytime soon wouldn't that mean that LOS would be developed for a non-audience? I can not say how much trouble it is to implement the new kernel version since I'm not a developer myself, but I'm optimistic that we'll see an LOS nightly for the A9 that supports 2.x firmware in the next couple of weeks. Let's cross our fingers :)
I didn't mean to insinuate that we weren't going to get an update just that it's not going to happen pronto.

The only person to estimate when we'll see a LOS that supports 2.x firmware would be the developer himself. Everything else is just speculation. So let's hope for the best ;)

I wouldn't mind downgrading but all the RUU exe links are dead. I have the zip, but not sure how to use it. I know I'll come off sounding like an ass, but don't even continue releasing Lineage for our device until it can be used on the 2.x kernel.

For MID: 2PQ910000
cidnum: HTC__001
cidnum: HTC__034
cidnum: HTC__J15
cidnum: HTC__M27
cidnum: HTC__A07
cidnum: HTC__016
cidnum: HTC__002

1. Go to RUU mode (I called it)

Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
2.then flash firmware -
Code:
[B]htc_fastboot[/B] flash zip 2PQ9IMG_HIA_AERO_UHL_M60-Firmware.zip
it may fail but after device reboot, go to RUU mode again and resend that command until it successful. (sometime take 2 to 3 times)

3. AFTER successful flash firmware now flash Stock (do not skip this step you will get some error with Data/Carrier and cannot load LineageOS anyway
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24457741883933257

Code:
htc_fastboot flash zip <file_name>.zip
4. Reboot to bootloader and go to Download Mode to flash recovery. (any version)

5. Reboot your phone and let it loading until Wizard setup screen comes up.

6. Reboot phone to Recovery mode and copy LineageOS + GApps (64) to your phone (In my device it will not detect SDCard (most of the time))

7. Go to Wipe > Advanced Wipe > Internal Storage

8. Go to Wipe >Format Data

9. Flash Rom and GApp

Hopefully help someone

P.S. I did extract firmware from RUU so its CLEAN and safe IF these RUU's clean too

Android is open source ( and Oreo images have just been uploaded, you can use those too ! ), Lineage is also open source, and hTC released the kernel. Nothing can stop you, really.

You can probably sit down over the weekend with all the code and just whip up a good build for 2.x firmware yourself, instead of waiting for other lazy people to do it ? ( You could even publish your build and charge some money for the work, lots of folks without the time or knowledge to do such things might buy it. Win-win for everyone ! )

I think the main reason for frustration is that we have no idea what is happening with the 2.x situation... any kind of status update from our developer would ease concerns.
Right now, we can only suppose/hope/pray that development is progressing.
A short message to bring us up to speed would go a long way.

Lineage wants to be all about communicating with its users, see the recent Summer Poll... except for the HTC A9 users, who must be kept in the dark ?

I don't have much free time to work on things these days, nor do I frequent XDA.
I'm making my way (slowly) through cleaning up the HTC kernel and testing with the 2.18.617 libraries. Right now things don't work yet, so I haven't pushed any code anywhere.
Thanks for the information!

I never called anyone lazy. I have nothing but respect for those who develope. I don't have the necessary skills to do that myself.

Any news?, I've been looking at the logs for the latest nightlies but not sure on what am I supposed to be looking for :p ...
I mean will the update in the LOG say something like "available for latest kernel"?
Can someone please help me clear this for me :D

I'm assuming it will, the maintainer for the ROM says that he's been busy outside of maintaining the ROM so I'd doubt it's coming any time soon. Either that or the 1st ROM to support 2.x firmware is going to be LOS 15 which I feel is definitely worth the wait.
