I just ordered a used BLU R1 HD off Amazon

I just ordered a used BLU R1 HD off Amazon. I want to put LineageOS on it. I am willing to work with the community on this long term. I currently use a BLU Studio 5.0C with a modded stock Rom, ADUPS, and MTK Logger are removed.

I want to run LineageOS on this device if possible, with as much functional hardware working as I possibly can. I have used SP Flash tool before, but only to load a CWM Recovery, and Stock Rom. Any input anyone would have or reccomendations to make the device as functional as possible as is welcome. I'm hoping this will be a gradual success story.

When you get your phone, and turn it on DO NOT put simm card in it yet, and DO NOT connect to WiFi while doing initial setup. The phone does an update during setup, if there is internet connection. And if the phone does an update you will not be able to unlock bootloader.

Also if the phone comes with version 8.x then you will not be able to unlock bootloader either.

I would be expecting a used phone to be one that someone had received the ota update, realized it could no longer be rooted or unlocked, then sent back. So be aware ok that

If the Phone is like that, I will return it, the Phone is listed as "like new with some cosmetic damage." I will ensure that there is no connection. I will not put a Sim in this device, or connecting it to Wifi, until its totally ready. I need clear, understandable, instructions how to do this.

I will do so, what I want to ask is, if it gets here, and it has V8, what are my options then?

Working great here...I had to flash that lk.zip file as I had no baseband....once I did that full everything !! Is there away to patch this with the latest security updates that Blu just released?

You had to flash that again?
Or are you refering to the one time from the slim port thread?
Because unless you had reverted back to a backup "lk" after last time, then is should not have needed to be changed again.

I want to reinterate. My Device will not arrive here for 5-8 days, putting this at August 14th at the Earliest. I'd like to know what I should do if I get a device with V8 on it. Am I SOL?

Yeah I used my backup for v8.4 since slim was acting up ...but wanted to let you know the lk.zip does work for this rom as well. I've got zero issues so far also none of the issue I was having with slim....

I do have to say, the 5.2 version really improved battery life. It is noticeably better than stock now.

I don't find it that awesome....it's still solid but found it drops battery quicker then stock.

Anybody have second sim working on this rom?

I see the second sim but don't have any signal.
It reads the carrier info(freedom Pop att&t mvno) and the FreedomPop messenger app assigns the number and yet never sees signal.

I'm currently using 2nd sim slot....it works but seems signal isn't as good...gonna switch back to 1 to see if there's a change...under OE ROM I had solid signal in my house...now I get couple bars...

Today flashed v5.2 and stock open gapps and averything works very fine including google camera and fm radio, so far zero reboot, calls works perfect in both sims using two differents operators. Thanks to @mrmazak and @vampirefo for this development.

Are you able to take pictures and video, or just pictures? And how often does the camera crash? Im thinking about loading this ROM myself

On my tester phone it has been going about 3 weeks no camera crash.

I based this port off of the build that was for the Blu life Max. On my life Max I found some problems this week.


Don't know if these problems have followed to the port or not.

1. Sometimes in order to connect to bluetooth , either a reboot is needed or cycle to airplane mode then back.

2. I found that I can make video camera crash by taking video on front or rear camera

Edit,update: I took for granted the source roms I used to port were supposed to be fully working. I tested some more on both the slim and lm13. The source roms do not have working camcorder. The port camcorder does work.

3. The build prop seems to need some work. The rom runs , but there are many options from stock prop not shown. I'm hoping a prop change can solve the screen mirroring not working (screen cast)

In my case, I haven´t connected the Bluethooth, the camera never has crashed, the video in front camera is too dark but the back camera take good pictures and videos on 720p. I just feel a little lag in some oportunities, I´m using as daily driver since yesterday with two sim card, the only issue in the battery duration, it doesn´t last as with the stock rom, however came home at 7 pm with 20%, no so bad. Otherwise so far so good.

I don't know if this is from the rom, but my back camera is giving out little pink lines when it is active... I had spilt water on it about a week ago. The back camera wouldn't work and the front camera was flipped. Then today everything started to work.
