A2SD was, but fingerprinting of the app for your device was not. From what I have read in the developers forums anyway...
There wasn't a change in the code, they just changed the key they were using to the production key. The market fingerprinting was there and working all along, that's exactly why not all apps were showing up in the dev releases.

Ah I see what you're saying, but that's not how it works :)

The 'fingerprint' is simply the build number being read from the build.prop file. If the Market server reads a build from the file that isn't on it's list... no protected apps.

no. If I purchase as app and use a utility to copy it to a folder on my SD card and give the card to a buddy, previously he'd be able to install it. That won't work now. It has nothing to do with apps visibility in the marketplace.

I've tried backing up an app and sending it to a friend in the past. It didn't work, it's not something that's new to FRF83.

That has more to do with the marketplace application/security measures being implemented.

Possibly down to the app in question or the app used to backup the app then? Dunno.

I tried to pass on the Swype beta using ASTRO, he couldn't install it.

that's how I got my copy. :) Try Linda. But more importantly, what version were you running when you tried it? I'm still on 2.1 update 1 (54B). Was this with a version of Froyo?

That's a good question, it was a while ago and I was drunk. It could have been either ERE27 or FRF50.

There was another app I tried at the same time (forget which) which also didn't work. It wasn't down to him not knowing what to do either. God knows what the deal is lol.

Hi,

Can anyone confirm if they can play WAV files after upgrading? When the first Froyo update leaked, I wasn't able play WAV files from exchange emails.

I have the same problem. With all the the ROMs based on froyo that i checked (modaco, cyanogen 6, ...)

The media player can't no more play the wav of the voicemail that i received on my mail account ( i can provide a sample wav file)

And also the podcast of the "Radio France" application can t no more be played.

im am back in cynogen mod 5 :-(
