  • No root needed

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEGINNERS

WARNING!
This process will delete all your user data (all apps installed, your google account ...and so on).
This process will NOT delete anything inside your internal memory and inside your SD card.

This process will NOT unlock your device: if your bootloader is still locked, it will remain locked.
This process will NOT re-lock your device: if your bootloader is already unlocked, it will remain unlocked.

  1. Download and install Flashtool on your PC
If you have problems with drivers, you should go into the Flashtool\drivers folder to install them (Thanks to @LaZiODROID)
If you are a Windows 8.1 user, you might need a patch from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=41804, then reboot and restart the Flashtool (Thanks to @glovesave)
  2. Download the firmware you need (from the list below) and move it into the directory C:/Flashtool/firmwares
  3. Open Flashtool, click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
  4. Just select the name of what you downloaded and click on "Flash"
  5. Wait for a window to pop up (it may take a few minutes, be patient)
  6. Now everything is ready: turn off your phone
  7. Push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect to your PC
  8. Once the flashing process has started, release the volume rocker as soon as possible
  9. NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!!!
  10. Turn on and enjoy! :D

Walkman Update

I've flashed 9.2.A.1.205 - Unbranded - Italy (1265-1589) onto my Xperia T and works GREAT.

I've noticed that my walkman app is still 7.15.A.0.2 while new version is beyond 8.x

The update center app do not find the new version? Is it normal?

Thanks!

Did you also check what are the differences in between 7.15 and 8.x? Does it have new features you need? Or is it that you just want to have the higher version no.?

Same issue with me with the same firmware. No Sony app updates in the Update Center.

Sent from my LT30p using XDA Free mobile app

It's a known bug of .205 firmware and can be fixed flashing THIS FILE through recovery, so your device needs to be rooted.

Is there any .205 firmware to supports 160 Greek characters in SMS;

Italian .205 for example does not.
You're not the first to complain about this issue, maybe @DaRk-L0rD knows how to fix.

Meanwhile you can try the one from Switzerland, as it seems very close to the central european version which usually supports that kind of feature.
I'm not so sure, but just try and let us know...

In a similar issue, my Unbranded *James Bond Skyfall Edition* - Central Europe (1268-3194) 4.3 firmware doesn't receive updates past 9.2.A.0.295. Is this also a known problem and is there a work around other than flashing a different firmware?

Thanks.

Thanks buddy (can't press the button, 8 thanks finished :D)
Just a small request: Do you mind adding mod's thread in the OP so users can find it easily? :)
Good idea but I don't want to mess up the OP :D
I could use the second post anyway... mmmhhh... give me some time ;)

Download this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608983

and check your customization number: 295 is the last firmware available!
