Hi,

Could anyone please tell, which region FTF for Xperia V has default language as English? Currently I have a hongkong rom, which I would like to change.
I know that all ROMs have all languages and can easily change it to English. But as it is a Hongkong rom, I am unable to uncheck the Chinese Keyboard.

Thanks a lot

I can confirm that in German roms the English keyboard is default. :)

can u confirm that after ending the call if there is an unresponsiveness behavior or not ??
Well, my only experience with having unresponsiveness while trying to end a call is that i have a black screen, it ends the call when the other part hangs up or if i tap the screen a couple of times.

the SONY COMPANION software says it not, when i try to do a repair.
is your bootloader unlocked?
As suggested by krasimiretov, an unlocked bootloader doesn't allow to use Sony Companion.

Just check this way: open the dailer pad and press *#*#7378423#*#*, click on "service info", then on "configuration".
If you read: "Bootloader unlecked: Yes" you need to re-lock your phone before working with Sony Companion.

  • All the languages are included in ANY firmware
  • FTF files can be installed with both locked & unlocked bootloaders
  • No root needed

  1. Download and install Flashtool on your PC
If you have problems with drivers, you should go into the Flashtool\drivers folder to install them (Thanks to @LaZiODROID)
If you are a Windows 8.1 64bit user, you might need a patch from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=41804, then reboot and restart the Flashtool (Thanks to @glovesave)
  2. Download the firmware you need (from the list below) and move it into the C:/Flashtool/firmwares directory
  3. Open Flashtool, click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
  4. Just select the name of what you downloaded and click on "Flash"
  5. Wait for a window to pop up (it may take a few minutes, be patient)
  6. Now everything is ready: turn off your phone
  7. Push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect to your PC
  8. Once the flashing process has started, release the volume rocker as soon as possible
  9. NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!!!
  10. Turn on and enjoy! :D

wasn't there something about debugging on or off on the phone before you Flash it? I'd tried it yesterday and my phone wouldn't turn on past the Sony logo. Good thing I used PC companion to repair it.

Flashtool works exactly like PC companion does. So it doesn't really matter if debugging is on or off. ;)
Maybe the FTF file you downloaded wasn't good ...or a proper kernel was missing ...or something went wrong during flashing process...
