"Are you sure you choose the right firmware for the right model lt25i????"

AX and VL are japanese version of V, same hardware, like Z1f and Z1c, crossflashing should work. I want to try japanese fw, saw on video options from 4.3 in 4.1.2 version.

That kind of error is typical of a wrong model.
You can check "partition" within the EXCLUDE box before flashing, but BE VERY CAREFUL, because crossflashing is very dangerous in this case: you can mess up your phone permanently.

If z1f=z1c, it doesn't mean that ax=vl=v
Where is the video you are talking about? Give us the link, please

E.g. this video, you can see more items in pulldown menu at 3:35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guuIb3aBOaw
On gsmarena for V says "Also known as Xperia AX on NTT DoCoMo and Xperia VL on KDDI", so I asumed it will work, but it didn't, I tried a couple of times.
I've also noticed when download is finished there are 3 files for japanese and 4 for inernational fw. So, maybe ftf is not complete for japanese?

I didn't understand a word the guy said :D but anyway that double line items menu at 3:35 is famous to be the "docomo status bar" and the guy in the video is using a docomo device! So he did nothing, that option is inside his phone and his firmware is 4.1.2.
If you want it on your device, you need any 4.1.2 firmware for V, rooted and recovery installed, then install this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206308

DON'T cross-flash, it's too risky ;)

I'm using Nordic, the sound sucks! They said central Europe has the best sound, Singapore has poor network

I've just recently tried both 4.1.2 and the latest 4.3 version and they both suck when it comes to performance. I suggest you to try out some custom rom...I'm using LiquidSmooth and I love it :D

Sent from my Xperia V using XDA Free mobile app

WARNING!

  • All the languages are included in ANY firmware.
  • FTF files can be installed with both locked & unlocked bootloaders.
  • No root needed.
  • This process will delete all your user data (all apps installed, your google account ...and so on).
If you don't want to lose your data, you can unckeck "DATA" within the wipe box just before installing, but remember:
-a full wipe is always recommended
-a full wipe is MANDATORY when you jump from one android version to another (e.g. from 4.1.2 to 4.3 or vice versa)
  • This process will NOT delete anything inside your internal memory and inside your SD card.
  • This process will NOT unlock your device: if your bootloader is still locked, it will remain locked.
  • This process will NOT re-lock your device: if your bootloader is already unlocked, it will remain unlocked.

F.A.Q.

Can I install a firmware from a country which is not mine?
Yes you can, because all the unbranded firmwares are the same stuff ;) except for some apps that can be uninstalled without any problem.

What's my current customization number?
Open the phone dial pad and press *#*#7378423#*#*, then tap on Service info > Software info

Can I install a firmware for another phone model which is not mine?
Never do that, especially if you're a noob: you could mess up your device seriously.

My current firmware is already rooted, would I need to root again after flashing?
Yes you would, as everytime you flash you erase the system partition entirely.

I need/want a firmware which is not already present inside the list, how to make my own FTF by myself?
You need Flashtool and XperiFirm.
Here's a very good TUTORIAL.
Once you finish, please be so kind to share your FTF with the rest of the world ;)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEGINNERS
  1. Download and install Flashtool on your PC
If you have problems with drivers, you should go into the Flashtool\drivers folder to install them
If you are a Windows 8.1 64bit user, you may need a patch from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=41804, then reboot and restart the Flashtool
  2. Download the firmware you need (from the list below) and move it into the C:/Flashtool/firmwares directory
  3. Open Flashtool, click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
  4. Just select the name of what you downloaded and click on "Flash"
  5. Wait for a window to pop up (it may take a few minutes, be patient)
  6. Now everything is ready: turn off your phone
  7. Push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect to your PC
  8. Once the flashing process has started, release the volume rocker as soon as possible
  9. NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!!!
  10. Turn on and enjoy! :D
