I don't have that on my Pixel 2...that I can see...Uhh, what are you talking about?
Pixel 2's proximity sensor is right above the top speaker and it's widely exposed with that Whitestone Dome protector.
This is where the sensor is located:

I read numerous reviews on Amazon for S8 with numerous negative reviews. After reading about it from you, I thought maybe I'd get it for my wife but not sure after reading reviews.https://blog.naver.com/jyryu1963/221123413636
This blog post shows Whitestone Dome screen protector on various phones including Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL.
I guess this means it's coming soon...

Yes, because it's hidden. Usually the sensors are harder to see, it's clear on his because he has a screen protector over itI don't have that on my Pixel 2...that I can see...
Howdy - yes, our full coverage models are progressing but not quite ready for primetime. This is a tricky one because the adhesive needs to match the screen's radius perfectly. All our current Pixel replenishment stock arrived today and we will be sending out orders soon. Thanks! That's the front facing camera on the left.
The notification LED (blink light) is on the right.

Having seen what Whitestone Dome designed for Pixel 2, I'm hoping for intelliARMOR to create something better with full adhesive and full coverage (black frame). Just like how they did it for the OG Pixel last year.
@intelliARMOR How are you guys progressing btw? Hoping for some good news soon!
Good luck with the installation!I just received the Spigen one. ... Feel free to ask questions.
Pixel 2 gadget guards are now for sale on their website (http://www.gadgetguard.com/shop-by-brand/google/phone/pixel-2.html). Did you (or anyone else) end up getting one? If so, how is it? The warranty seems similar to Zagg, but how is the fit?I'm holding out for the gadget gaurd black ice+ I love the warranty on it where they pay $100 towards the repair of your screen if your breaks while you have one of their registered screen protectors on. That is if they make them I used them on my pixel XL and my wifes Pixel and when my wife broke her screen it was only 30 bucks to get her screen fixed.
Good luck with the installation!
Questions from me:
- How easy is it to align perfectly?
- Any halo effects on the edges?
- How thick/thin does it feel?
- Does the phone catch lint and dust easier on the edges with this on?
Thanks!
Same questions + is there any leeway on horizontal placement? Or does it need to be exact to have full OLED coverage on both sides?I just received the Spigen one. The width of it is exactly the same as the width of the display on the Pixel 2 so it will not cover the rounded edges it could possibly interfere with the touch sensitivity around the sides of the display. I'll install it later today and post again when I've installed it. Feel free to ask questions.

After contacting a Zagg rep, I'm leaning toward at least trying the Zagg glass+. He assured me that the common complaints about rainbowing on the sides/poor fit are from improper placement. He also stated that they have a 30 day no questions asked return policy if purchasing directly from Zagg, which will cover if I don't like how it fits. Not sure if shipping is covered when doing a return. But the return policy plus the warranty make me feel the higher price tag is worth it. For those who don't know, the warranty covers replacement screens as long as you pay the shipping (~$6 USD) and send them back your old one (old protector return shipping is covered by Zagg)

I've installed it and there is zero leeway in the horizontal axis. The OLED coverage is exact; it literally sits directly over the parts where the OLED ends so there is no room for error. However it is pretty easy to align perfectly as long as you have the screen on so you can see where the edges of the screen are. There is no halo effect on the edges but there is a rainbow effect right along the side bezels because of how exact the screen protector is so this is the tradeoff to having no glass covering beyond the screen width itself. The screen protector feels very thin and does not hinder any touch responsiveness. And yes, it does catch lint and dust easier on the edges. I feel like the oleophobic coating is the same or slightly better than the original coating on the Pixel 2.Pixel 2 gadget guards are now for sale on their website (http://www.gadgetguard.com/shop-by-brand/google/phone/pixel-2.html). Is the rainbow effect always there/noticeable? Is it possible that certain brightness levels or colors make it appear? I think it would drive me insane if it were always present, but I'd really prefer to have glass over plasticFor some reason I can't edit my post to add photos but here are the photos of the installed Spigen screen protector and the scratched corner. I couldn't get the other scratch to show up on camera but it is noticeable in person.
Yes the rainbow effect is always there but it's less noticeable when the screen is showing darker colours. It's extremely noticeable when the screen is showing white. It shows up in all brightness levels. I find that it is slightly less noticeable in landscape mode and when watching videos. It doesn't bother me that much so I'm probably sticking with this screen protector because I'd rather have the rainbow effect on the edges instead of a halo effect or dot matrix. Is the rainbow effect always there/noticeable? I disagree. There's no rainbow effect on this protector. Yes, on the edges where the protector meets the glass because it's overlapping the edges of t he screen, it's unavoidable. The rainbow effects are here only because the other ones has side adhesives and the middle portion is floating. The edge rainbow effect isn't the normal rainbow effect that everyone is referencing to.Yes the rainbow effect is always there but it's less noticeable when the screen is showing darker colours. Also, I forgot to mention this earlier but if you look at the phone off axis, like not directly head-on then the Spigen screen protector looks like it's floating on the screen because how the edges line up with the width of the display from a head-on perspective. In normal use this probably won't be as noticeable as the rainbow edges though since the rainbow edges shows up from all viewing angles.
Thanks!Wow you put it on so perfectly. Well done! It looks great!
Any tips on how to do it?
is there no cutout for that front camera? For some reason I can't edit my post to add photos but here are the photos of the installed Spigen screen protector and the scratched corner. I couldn't get the other scratch to show up on camera but it is noticeable in person.
There's no cutout for the camera but the pictures look the same as before so it's not a problem.is there no cutout for that front camera?
how do pictures look if there's no cutout? does the protector hinder it in anyway?
We were talking about the rainbow effect on the edges, not the rainbow effect that some other screen protectors have on the centre of the screen. The flat parts of the screen actually extend out by a millimetre if you look at the phone under a strong light source and see where the curves are. Spigen could have designed the screen protector to be wider by a millimetre on both sides of the screen protector but that would probably increase the chances of a halo effect showing up if the user installed the screen protector incorrectly so it probably was better for them to use the current design. I don't notice any touch interference or anything near the sides of the screen so it's not that big of a problem.I disagree. There's no rainbow effect on this protector. Yup - TURN ON THE SCREEN. Line up the top speaker, then line up the edge of the glass to the edge of the display. I mean, literally line it up. Check the bottom speaker alignment, it should be perfect at this point. Drop the protector and you are all doneThe included tabs on the protector helps a lot too.
