List of Google Pixel 2 Screen Protectors

Mike, I had the same experience with my Pixel 2 and the Spigen, my top right corner started to come off now after 10 months so I removed it and now I'm looking for what to try next!

Very frustrating....

Well I figured I'd provide a short long-term update on my Spigen screen protector. If you look a ways back (somewhere on here)...I installed it virtually perfectly and have been very satisfied ever since. On Monday, I noticed a small bubble form near the top right corner and smoothed it out. A few minutes later, a large chunk of the corner had lost adhesion and would not stick back down except for a few seconds. Today, I removed it and applied my spare and seem to have done a pretty good job. My concern is that these screen protectors aren't able to last the life of the phone...you might have to reapply them. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to be so precise in the process. I suspect that the corners and edges are under stress because they are right by the curved screen. Over time, that stress wears out the adhesive and the edges pop up. Maybe it was just mine...but sharing my experience just in case. It's also the reason I do not like the current curved screen trend. The perfect phone design for me (engineer) is thin, flat screen, and simple (a minimalist rectangle is perfectly fine)....you can still reduce bezel size on a flat screen:)

I can confirm that after 6 months my Spigen lost its oleophobic coating as well.
I think you're right, I did use an alcohol screen wipe on it quite early on, I think that must have stripped off some of the coating. I still have a second spigen protector so think I'll put that on.

Thanks for the response both of you!

What exactly are you saying?

I have the Spigen Glass and while it takes a steady hand to get on perfectly it has been great. When the oil resistance or a chip/lifting occurs I'll just put another one on for a few bucks. In fact I still have the second one as they come 2 to a pack.

Me too but I'll take this one off only when it chips or breaks.

Guys is there any good screen protector on AliExpress
Forget aliexpress, you'll find overpriced screen protectors with sharp edges that are very low quality..

I've bought like 3 or 4 cheap ones from ebay, with no luck all of them were so poor quality. finally i've got one from a uk shop that came in a pack of 2, and the quality is acceptable (compared to other same priced ones). you can pm me for the link

fabric case + TGSP

It's a bit overprotective, don't you think?
Using the fabric case since day one, without a screen protector, I now have some scratches on my display which are visible due to slightly different reflection. I had a different phone before, and micro-scratches accumulated over time.
So, no. Not at all overprotection.

I really would like to know if e.g. the Glass Dome TGSP would work with the fabric case. I ordered one, since I doubt they will stay available for long when the Pixel 3 hits the market, but it would be quite a deal-breaker if I could not use both fabric case and screen protector.

I will send it back if I can't. Anyone who tried that?

While it looked great I stopped using the fabric case after a few weeks since it was less grippy than without a case. And it gets stains easily. I've since been using the clear TPU Ringke Fusion case, much different but grippy as hell.
How did you manage to use it for so long?

Cheers

I just did. I clean it from time to time with a bit of mild soap and a toothbrush. It always has a slight used look, now. But so do I. ;)

Anyway, I don't care if it isn't outright dirty. It protects the phone, and does a good job at that I must say.

Sadly, your reply didn't answer my question.

Anyone using the fabric case with the Glass Dome, or another TGSP?

I had the fabric case on my phone with the Glass Dome, it was fine. My Spigen Rugged case worked fine with it, too.

That said, I just posted this on another thread and feel it warrants repeating:

I've had 2 Whitestone Dome Glass protectors. The first had to be replaced when my phone slipped through the gap in my pull out couch and when trying to get out it slipped under one of the couch legs, crushing the screen (no screen protector will help in that case). The second came in today, after some back and forth with Whitedome trying to figure out why it was showing out of stock on Amazon, and I had to trash it less than an hour after opening it.

The first one was a hassle to install but once installed I really, really liked it. The second had a broken bottom piece for installation, causing an imbalance in the phone and I went through 3 (one left over from first install) adhesion tubes before I realized that was why a good bit was slipping over the edge of the phone and not across the display. When I realized what was going on I was kind of angry it even happened, wasn't paying much attention, and the protector cracked when I was removing it to try and clean up everything...

I either got lucky with the first or REALLY unlucky with the second, but either way I'm not buying another one. The installation process isn't exceedingly difficult, but it's just way too cumbersome for what it should be, costs too much, and just isn't worth the headache. Really disappointed in it. Luckily Amazon did me a solid and is letting me refund it.

That first was by far the best I found for TGSP's for the Pixel 2. I'm really hoping the Pixel 3 goes back to fully flat glass, not this "it's curved just enough at the edges to make it extra difficult for third parties to make screen protectors" crap.

I'll answer my own question:
Bought one. Using it. It is compatible. There is still a gap between the case and the glass.
I'm not completely convinced of the concept, though, and montage was a hassle. Despite my best efforts, there was an air bubble, and getting it out spilled the glue, which despite the covering plastic sticker covered one speaker. I got it off, but this was highly annoying and probably residual glue is on/in the speaker cover.
The glass, however, is ok. There is a slight filtering effect, which isn't visible to the naked eye without comparison, though.

which protector feels like no screen protector? I managed to get a small scratch on my screen so I'm contemplating getting a protector now as the phone is only a year and a half old but hate the feeling of those vinyl protectors.

does anyone happen to have any good spare film screen protectors for the pixel 2 that i can buy off of you?

i had a six pack of Supershieldz Google Pixel 2 Screen Protector Clear that worked reasonably well but due to device replacements under warranty and replacing a couple times due to use, i have now blown through all six and Supershieldz sold out of the film version and only has a glass version.

i would like to avoid glass. all the other options from other manufacturers i am finding online are wet application with 12-24 hour cure time. i have never even heard of wet application until just now and have been using film screen protectors for many years. would like to stick with something simple...

thank you!

I'm not aware of any good regular film screen protector still available for the Pixel 2. When I had the Pixel 2 I used the IQ Shield which I can highly recommend. It's a wet install process but pretty simple and much better than regular film. The solution is just water with a bit of mild detergent. Won't hurt the phone. The phone is typically ready
to use after sitting for 8-12 hours. Also used IQ Shield on OnePlus 3, Essential Phone, Pixel 2xl and Pixel 3 with no issues.
