Well I figured I'd provide a short long-term update on my Spigen screen protector. If you look a ways back (somewhere on here)...I installed it virtually perfectly and have been very satisfied ever since. On Monday, I noticed a small bubble form near the top right corner and smoothed it out. A few minutes later, a large chunk of the corner had lost adhesion and would not stick back down except for a few seconds. Today, I removed it and applied my spare and seem to have done a pretty good job. My concern is that these screen protectors aren't able to last the life of the phone...you might have to reapply them. This wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to be so precise in the process. I suspect that the corners and edges are under stress because they are right by the curved screen. Over time, that stress wears out the adhesive and the edges pop up. Maybe it was just mine...but sharing my experience just in case. It's also the reason I do not like the current curved screen trend. The perfect phone design for me (engineer) is thin, flat screen, and simple (a minimalist rectangle is perfectly fine)....you can still reduce bezel size on a flat screen![]()
I think you're right, I did use an alcohol screen wipe on it quite early on, I think that must have stripped off some of the coating. I still have a second spigen protector so think I'll put that on.
Thanks for the response both of you!
I can confirm that after 6 months my Spigen lost its oleophobic coating as well.

I have the Spigen Glass and while it takes a steady hand to get on perfectly it has been great. When the oil resistance or a chip/lifting occurs I'll just put another one on for a few bucks. In fact I still have the second one as they come 2 to a pack.
Forget aliexpress, you'll find overpriced screen protectors with sharp edges that are very low quality..Guys is there any good screen protector on AliExpress
Using the fabric case since day one, without a screen protector, I now have some scratches on my display which are visible due to slightly different reflection. I had a different phone before, and micro-scratches accumulated over time. It's a bit overprotective, don't you think?

So, no. Not at all overprotection.
I really would like to know if e.g. the Glass Dome TGSP would work with the fabric case. I ordered one, since I doubt they will stay available for long when the Pixel 3 hits the market, but it would be quite a deal-breaker if I could not use both fabric case and screen protector.
I will send it back if I can't. Anyone who tried that?
I just did. I clean it from time to time with a bit of mild soap and a toothbrush. It always has a slight used look, now. But so do I.How did you manage to use it for so long?
Cheers
I had the fabric case on my phone with the Glass Dome, it was fine. My Spigen Rugged case worked fine with it, too.I just did. I clean it from time to time with a bit of mild soap and a toothbrush. It always has a slight used look, now. But so do I.
Anyway, I don't care if it isn't outright dirty. It protects the phone, and does a good job at that I must say.
Sadly, your reply didn't answer my question.
Anyone using the fabric case with the Glass Dome, or another TGSP?
I'll answer my own question:Sadly, your reply didn't answer my question.

Every tempered glass screen protector every made, ever, in the history of everything ?which protector feels like no screen protector? I managed to get a small scratch on my screen so I'm contemplating getting a protector now as the phone is only a year and a half old but hate the feeling of those vinyl protectors.
I'm not aware of any good regular film screen protector still available for the Pixel 2. When I had the Pixel 2 I used the IQ Shield which I can highly recommend. It's a wet install process but pretty simple and much better than regular film. The solution is just water with a bit of mild detergent. Won't hurt the phone. The phone is typically readydoes anyone happen to have any good spare film screen protectors for the pixel 2 that i can buy off of you?
i had a six pack of Supershieldz Google Pixel 2 Screen Protector Clear that worked reasonably well but due to device replacements under warranty and replacing a couple times due to use, i have now blown through all six and Supershieldz sold out of the film version and only has a glass version.
i would like to avoid glass. all the other options from other manufacturers i am finding online are wet application with 12-24 hour cure time. i have never even heard of wet application until just now and have been using film screen protectors for many years. would like to stick with something simple...
thank you!
