well those ROM's are highly customizable so it's possible that whatever you don't like about them you can change.Alright guys, someone talk me into a rom that isn't CM7 or MIUI.
Right thats the $64K question! What can I/can't I live without? I love my CM7/Incredikernel setup, it's actually remarkably fast and lightweight on the juice. MIUI, I love that as well but there's the learning curve....yeah. I'll probably go back to that in a few weeks, but for now I want to give one of the new Sense roms another go. I tried the...Synergy? I believe it was? Yeah I fell in love with it for a week, then I got bored. It's nothing against the ROM, it's just me. I've become a junkie, lol. I think I'll be better once I add a 3rd line to my setup and get a "Perpetually f-ing with it" phone. I guess I need to start looking at new phones in my not-too-distant future, lol.well those ROM's are highly customizable so it's possible that whatever you don't like about them you can change.
If you don't like those 2 then you probably won't like any other AOSP rom out for the INC, so your choices are narrowed down to normal Sense or one of the newer versions of Sense that can be known to pull a little more battery and lag on your phone.
For regular sense I'd recommend SkyRaider, the newer ones I haven't had much experience with so I can't give any good suggestions other than that you can check out the threads yourself for screenshots or feedback.
+1 on CM7 and MIUI. I also use OMFGB and Evervolv; both are similiar to CM7. I have been using Nils Business Gingersense 2.1/3.0 + 3D (8/14/11 V3.0). It is stable and has given me excellent battery life.well those ROM's are highly customizable so it's possible that whatever you don't like about them you can change.

Sense 3.0 port, with AOSP in it.![]()
Yes the goal is to have all ROM's listed here, so if you see 1 or a few that aren't please link me to them and I'll put them updo you think you should add the stock sense gingerbread 2.3.4 roms?
Jaykresge's Liberation ROM, if you don't mind Sense, boasts a large amount of free space. Especially the Odexed version 1.1.Ermmm....did some quick googling to try to find out how switching emmc and sdcard by tweaking vold.fstab would solve my problem. This may be a little too advanced for the likes of me, I'm not getting it....
However, I am experienced enough to flash a custom ROM...so what I am really asking here, is: are there any custom ROMS that I can flash that will, out of the box, give me a larger /data/data partition? Or is this not possible?
It was discussed extensively @ CM7, but the consensus seemed to be the partition can't be enlarged, only the contents reduced. That may only apply to the Incredible, though. Good luck! Thanks so much for directing me to that ROM. I briefly skimmed that one, plus all the ones listed in the first post, but didn't see any mention of enlarged partitions during my research. I'll give it a try!
I used to use NotEnoughSpace....now that I am on the leaked Gingerbread, it solves it for you. I would use Liberation 2.0 Beta 5, it has been very good and stable for me... here is a thread on how it solves the problem. I used to have the problem all the time, but now, thanks to this change, I've been good. I use DiskUsage to find the /data/data offenders that have large lib subdirs...very easy to spot!Say, can anybody recommend a stable rom that has an enlarged /data/data partition? Is that even possible that a custom rom can address that problem? I'm tired of getting the 'low on app data apce message'....
BTW, I have already done quite a bit of research on this....best solution so far was the NotEnoughSpace app. Unfortunately, that app has a few achilles heels: it doesn't play too nicely with Titanium Backup (specificially, I think trying to restore apps that are in the NES partition will jack things up). Also, if you try to remove apps that are in the NES partition, without first restoring them to the phone or SD data partition, will also jack things up. Not exactly convenient, IMO. So a larger /data/data partition seems to be the best solution....
