Listening to headphones while charging

Based on posts above, I tried this combo, and it works for an ok total price. $17.98 plus $6.99 when I ordered them, and this is in the US. $24.97 total. Though the adapters are now showing $7.99.

One thing to note is at first it was showing charging but didn't charge and the headset did not work. So I then tried to connect a USB thumb drive into the USB connector on the box and it didn't work. I also tied connecting to my computer into the USB connector through the adapter and it didn't work.

I then tried re-connecting the box to the phone for the 3rd or 4th time, and all was good. Sound works. Mic works. And it charges. Now it works every time I connect. So either I'm more consciously pushing the connector on, or there was maybe something that was keeping it from seating all the way originally.

Also, I lost the original Google adapter, so I have these as well. Two for $19.90, which is pretty comparable to Google with their shipping charge on small orders. They work, though I think the audio is not as good as with the OEM when using OEM earbuds that have come with prior phones.

As an update, Android Pie fixed this for me - the Moshi adapter finally works to charge my phone while simultaneously outputting music via the USB-C (which I then route to my car's aux in). Very pleased to finally have a solution (I never did apply the firmware update the Moshi people provided me, since I don't have access to any windows machines - it's running the original firmware I received it with).

I bought the Liootech adapter and it works awesomely! Rapid charging works and you can use the headphone jack at the same time! A great deal and a great solution for $25.

Glad to see these things finally showed up. Though Amazon search buries these combo adapters below incompatible audio adapters. I've been searching for months, and then more frequently after I lost the OEM adapter. So I bought the setup with the HDMI adapter.

There are other units that are down at $22 to $24 right now. But most have 1 review or even none at this point. Hopefully more people will buy and review them so the prices come down a few dollars and the good ones are identified.

Do ANY of these adaptors actually pass video out through HDMI? So far I haven't found a single answer to whether or not the p2xl can or can't do video out of the USB C like other phones. All of my past phones ( mostly Motorola ) had this capability. My wife's S8 will also. I've been searching for an answer to this since I got this device. Over a year. Any help or just a yes or no would be appreciated. TIA

Can you tell me the serial number on that? Is it the 2nd gen one? 99MO084242 was the first one and I think that was faulty.

Yes: it's definitely the 2nd gen one. Sorry - it's in my other car which I don't have access to at the moment. I'll post the sn when next I use that car.
