Jelly Beans update

Yesterday I've installed Jelly Bean on my DHD. Happy to announce that JB can render indic text on Browser without any problem :cowboy:. I've tested telugu language. However JB still not render indic text at interface level :(. If i use Gmail or menu then it is showing broken text. Hope Android 4.2 can resolve this issue. We are near to see future of Indic text on Android :D.

Thanks for the update! I have JB update, but didn't think of checking. I can confirm that Telugu looks good in chrome as well as in gmail. I had to previously go to ipad for this, so an very happy.

That's cool... Hope next version of Android can support telugu :). It looks like they have fixed for Tamil & Hindi.

How about GingerBread?
Did you gave up?
How to use HarfBuzz/Canvas to render Indic languages properly?
I've tried that but it is not working... so I gave-up for GB. Even JB 4.2.x also not fully supported Telugu. Hope next version support Telugu. Rendering on UI interface is disconnected. If you want Hindi then you can try JB version.

Firefox seems to be implementing rendering indepent of android. See attach from ff nightly, armÿ version. One with bad rendering is from same url on android browser. Wikipedia does not use dynamic fonts.

I had to install droid sans fall back font from the other thread. Using stock cm 7.2 nightly on samsung mini s5570. Ff nightly on cm 10.1 aka jelly bean is a huge drain. Even on 7.2, other apps fc when ff nightly is open.

A huge thanks to guys @ FF for showing this is indeed acheivable. First pic is ff, mostly good rendering.

The url.

Somebody, Please eliminate possibility that wikipedia uses dynamic fonts, if you can.
