The Lenovo Region Lock also covers roll back. Its a real nightmare. I wish there was more public knowledge on how to avoid it.

The simple solution would be to have a Chinese version of smart recovery. Let people fix their own issue then.

to be honest Ive not been happy with this tablet since ive had it, hardware is good, software not so much, this has just put the icing on the cake, now ive got to shell out £60 to return it, to get a replacement or it mended, importing electrically goods is ok, as long as nothing happens

I've been pretty happy with my 2021 P11 Pro it's tiding me over nicely while I wait for my 12.6" to come back (what a nightmare that has been). Having said that mine hasn't lost widevine.
I use Stremio and JustPlayer to play the 4k HDR versions of shows I pay for already through my Disney+, Apple, prime and netflix subs. It's mental I can't access the full quality of what I pay for on any device but hey ho. With Stremio widevine is irrelevant anyways.

BTW I paid £42 with UPS to return mine to China not £60+. Giztop have been great apart from their balls up of retuning me someone else's broken tablet have always paid return shipping.

Your right it's 42 via ups..like a plonker I walked in and try to send it like a normal parcel..didn't occur to me I need to print some pages out..try again tomorrow..how long did yours take to get back to giztop?

First time around it was quick. 4 days to get there 3 days their end to mix mine up with someone else's then about 5 back. This time around I posted 28th and it's still being held by customs. From what I've read it could also be a backlog with UPS but they don't communicate very well.

Yea I'm guessing so..if I get this sorted I'm not sure I'll keep the tablet to be honest..but that's to worry about in a few weeks

Try Stremio when you get it back. It may change your attitude.

I use Nexus launcher so don't see any Chinese ever. If my 12.6 came with exactly the same software and performance I'd have been very happy. Unfortunately it didn't. It was a mess

I'm still not able to get my tablet to respond, it says in order to get the SN you have to enter into the bootloader and it should have the SN listed but this is all I've got coming up. View attachment 5503795View attachment 5503797

I was doing that from my desktop and getting issues. I tried from the lenovo tablet and I wasnt asked for the IMEI. Weird... hopefully I get the file... Update: It works!!!

How To Lock and Unlock Bootloader - Xioaxin Pad Pro 2021 - TB-J716F

Since I found out that the Tablet supports Project Treble I'm trying to get a GSI-ROM running on it.
Currently with many trial and error I got LiR-ROM to boot.
The first step is to unlock the Bootloader so I thought I will share the process here.
Your data will be deleted while unlocking, try it at your own risk.

Unlock Bootloader manually
Requirement: PC with ADB Fastboot
1. Go to Settings -> System -> About Phone, tab on it until developer settings are enabled.
2. Go to Developer Settings and enable "USB Debugging" and "OEM Unlocking".
3. Open Console and enter "adb devices". Allow USB-Debugging if tablets asks.
4. Enter command "adb reboot bootloader".
5. Write down the serial number shown on the bootloader screen
You can either get the unlock image via this link "http://cdn.zui.lenovomm.com/developer/tabletboot/[your sn number]/sn.img" or via the webseite
5. Go to the ZUI Unlock Website and request the unlock image

6. You should get a mail where you can download a file called "sn.img".
7. Flash the image with fastboot "fastboot flash unlock sn.img"
8. Enter command "fastboot oem unlock-go", bootloader will unlock now.
9. Restart with "fastboot reboot".
Done, your bootloader should be unlocked now.

Lock and Unlock Bootloader with Batchscript
I recently found a batch script for lenovo devices in an chinese forum and translated it.
It's easy and convenient to use. For unlocking you still need the sn.img from the ZUI Unlock Website.

It's to late..I've borked it now..the bootloader is now in locked status..and for whatever reason the serial number has changed..

Hi guys

Struggling here. I have downloaded the lenovo driver and used the "LockBootloader.bat" script and followed the prompts. It shows device is now locked but I cannot get out of fastboot mode. It just bootloops like the other guy, but I am not clear on the fix?

Any help would be appreciated.

So I ended up just following the instructions here to flash the chinese rom. Looks like the bootloader did lock from the script here. I had the fastboot issue describe later on, but I didnt have to rerun the bootloader locking steps.

It restored Widevine L1 which was the goal so happy with that.

The problem is that my QFIL does not detect my tablet.

I have the same problem as you. Permanently in Fastboot. If I choose any option it goes back to Fastboot mode.

Did you have a read through all the troubleshooting? You might have to manually find those qfil drivers and try again. Also noting the weird sequencing mentioned of turning it off and then plugging it in

turning it off and then plugging it in, Is working for me. The problem is that now QFIL throws me the Sahara Fail error.

Regarding the drivers... I haven't read anything about it.,, how could I find them?

having the same issue with @russy23. saw it could be the QCN is missing. got a copy of a QCN for another device. how do i change the s/n number in the QCN?

I have a Xiaoxin with global installed, shows as P11.

I would like to root it at least so I followed the guide on 4pda but I can't backup my QCN.. When I attach attach the tablet to PC on FFBM mode I can't see anything on Device manager and QFIL doesn't detect it.

If I use EDL mode I can, instead and I'm able to backup partitions but the QCN backup window has the button grayed out, not clickable.

The tablet is detected using QLoader 9008 driver instead of DIAG 901D as I saw in the guides.. if I manually change the driver to DIAG the backup button is clickable but I got the sahara fail error..

Do you have any suggestion?
