hi, try flashing https://idlekernel.com/twrp/hero2qlte/3.0.0-0/twrp-3.0.0-0-hero2qltetmo.tar.md5
while it isn't for your phone (it's actually for T-Mobile S7 Edge), if it at least flashes then you are in the clear and I will happily port TWRP for G930P.
If the flash fails with SECURE CHECK FAIL, then you are out of luck. (nothing is changed and it won't trip knox)
RESULTS
if it flashes successfully, and trips knox, then you have an unlocked bootloader, and twrp will happen for you in a few days
if it does not flash, it will not trip knox, and nothing will have changed, but you have a locked bootloader
Sprint variant is locked. Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah, you're Fked, apologies! Here is what i got. Am i Fked? And no root? Sonofa
The Samsung chat also said we'd find the kernel source code under Samsung Promotions or something of the sort xDThought the samsung chat said tmo is unlocked?
Is there a reactivation lock on this phone? The Samsung chat also said we'd find the kernel source code under Samsung Promotions or something of the sort xD
I believe that depends on the CSC. You can always RAL with Google though using the "Google Settings" and turning it on.Is there a reactivation lock on this phone?
Could you try doing that after turning oem unlock on and see the out come? I beleive its in developer options! Here is what i got. Am i Fked? And no root? Sonofa
It was. Only other thing i guess could be is reactivation lock will show that just didnt know if it was on here can not find itCould you try doing that after turning oem unlock on and see the out come? I beleive its in developer options!
This is probably on Samsung, not Sprint, tbh.Sprint told me they don't lock bootloaders. What's this all about?
Yea, I'm not going to risk hanging on to a phone I can't root. This is probably on Samsung, not Sprint, tbh.
Either way, the Galaxy 7 customers in the U.S. are completely screwed, as far as ever getting root/recovery/any development for Galaxy 7s goes.
No chance of development means no real need for these forums on XDA, honestly.
(I mean, this is an Android Development website.)
Let the devs figure it out if they can; until that happens there's nothing to really do here. ?
(My device is going back, though.)
I told you don't lose hopeBug the hell out of @marceloclaure on Twitter. Get the word out.
