There won't ever be any custom roms because Nvidia's source code and GIThub are a mess, and everyone who's tried to do it has ended up running into a wall at some point. There's a custom kernel, but when I tried it my tab became very stuttery, and overclocking seemed to have no effect on gaming performance... it just ruined the battery life.
Exactly. Nvidia are more concerned with United Nations happy happy style news reports on Google+ rather than being a hardware company with good software support. Possibly a sign of a falling company or other bad management.

I even contacted the Dev team over at nvidia never once got a response back from them. So do not count on getting Lollipop anytime soon. As rightfully pointed out not only is the source code a huge mess even the github for nvidia trash. Hence why i am not getting another nVidia product that runs android full stop.

@AkashRouth i can answer that without working for Nvidia. Sorry the device is EOL already! its not going to get lollipop.
I swear, if they pull that ****, I'm gonna riot. I'm dying for a Shield Console, but if this is how they're gonna treat their devices then screw them. Lollipop released just barely one year from this tablet's release... not updating it would be dastardly.

Im quite pissed off at how quick they release their chips I mean, I got this tablet early 2014 and a couple of months later tegra k1 was out and now the x1 is out within a year or two. They gave very minimal support to our devices and chips I mean common, that dabbler 2 thing, I bet our tegra 4's could handle that piss easy if NVIDIA actually put some effort in porting it over or something.

what do you mean it isn't even mentioned? btw the shield portable doesn't have the lollipop update either.
A guy from at the Nvidia support forums has said that the Shield Portable will receive Lollipop in the next couple of weeks: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...-101-released-02-11-15-/post/4506083/#4506083

Considering that TN7 shares pretty much the same hardware with the Shield Portable, it seems likely that Nvidia would release Lollipop for the TN7 as well.

This lollipop update is starting to sound a lot like vaporware. Something that they keep saying is coming but either never shows up or shows up horribly implemented. There is a chance that if its released only for the Shield Portable that somebody could port it to the TN7. Or I'll just dream about a CM12 port.

Well we are still waiting, but Lollipop still has its fair share of bugs to work out.

In other news, my Tegra Note said it had a Tegra OTA update, then when I checked it said I was up to date. :/

Phantom Update FTL.
