If you thought losing tablet mode was bad, wait until we finally do get lollipop. I have it on my nexus 7, which is now 100% literally just for perk tv I absolutely never touch it besides that. Now not only is tablet mode still gone, there's only a single pulldown from the top so our tablets are now using the phone interface. I'm switching to windows 10 for mobile, no arguments or comments allowed I've been with android since day one of the g1, so many roots so many phones over the years, and I am definitely, after witnessing android l, switching all my tech to win10. For those of you who are sticking with android, heh, good luck.

Trust me, you're not missing out on anything right now. Like said earlier, regardless of my opinion on them just making us use the phone ui now, android L is currently a buggy mess and my nexus 7 has been updated a ton of times, nvidia woulda had to get the first buggy L, mess with it to get it working on the note, get the next L, mess with it, next l, mess with it, and maybe I think a couple more came out too. There's just no good reason for them to do that, it wouldn't benefit them nor us.

Ah, and Microsoft has never made any missteps or rushed an OS to market <coughcough> Windows ME/Vista/8 <cough!>. It's difficult to get all the stars to line up just right, and with anything involving tech, it's part skill and part luck.

but back to topic kk has soo many issue' with the tn7 like touch screen issue, battery etc.. cant wait for LP fix... if u think 8 was rushed, look what happened with lollipop for tmobile g3 update? it was rushed and cause lots of issues so thy pulled it like week later....

lollipop isn't even out for our tegra note 7 so there is no reason to complain about it right now except for the fact that we still don't have a release date for lollipop.

Well he's probably referring to the mess after the Shield Tablet's 5.0 update... after that, Nvidia decided to bring the Shield Portable and TN7 straight to 5.1, which is why it's taking longer. They've announced it's going to happen, but we still don't have a date.

I've always had a start menu with windows it's always ran fine and they didn't design a perfectly good tablet ui then completely destroy it. Good chat.

No idea how I mis-posted or something. Need to stop forum reading while at work.

Overall I am in no rush for LP for either my Shield Portable or the TN7. Both work just fine where they are at and a future update will just be icing on the cake.

Its Android M I am concerned about... I actually don't like a few of the changes I am seeing for it that they got right with LP... We shall wait and see.

You can call me all you want as I don't really give two hoots. But now let's play some simple logic here, did you know there was two different Tegra Note 7's one being a P1640 and the other being a P1988. Now both shared the same device marketing name. The P1988 has been recently updated to Android 5.0 publicly. The P1640 has still hasn't and properly will not get Android 5.0. So have a guess which one I have out if them two variants and you'll see its not a doomsday reply. Also only just recently did the full image for 4.4.2 GMS OTA 2.5 has made it to the dev section if nvidia, how do I know that now pause and think. So really your out burst was not called for at all was it Mr buthurt.

Actually, the P-1988 is receiving a soak-test update for a few users, and it is to Android 5.1, not 5.0. Also, the P-1640 is the exact same tablet but without LTE, so assuming there will be no update to it when it has a MUCH larger install base seems illogical. I'll be sure to find this post when I get my 5.1 update so I can say I told you so. As for your snark, dude, this is supposed to be a community of people helping each other, not ranting like a teenage kid... keep that 'tude in check, man, cuz we don't need that here.

@ iMaterial GMS is to say that Googles apps are in the firmware etc. The 4.4.2 GMS OTA 2.5 is a full image with the Android 4.4.2 and the latest fixes that came with the P1640's last OTA which was 2.5.

So there is nothing different at all.

well. the 2.5 OTA was released 4 months ago on the dev site. on the 13th february to be exact. i wouldn't call that recently (at least i think thats a lot of time).
which exact site do you check for the OTA's?
i use this one https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload#?search=NVIDIA%20Tegra%20NOTE7
if this is the wrong site then pls correct me.

That is the correct site bud.

NVIDIA Tegra NOTE7 LTE & Wifi are the P1988 images.
NVIDIA Tegra NOTE7 GMS and None GMS are the P1640 images.

These images are fastboot images though.

Try resetting to factory settings after upgrading it was pretty sluggish before I did a factory reset now it's really quick fifa 15 and modern combat run smooth like butter

I have already done a factory reset it didnt solve anything, still heat issues playing simple games, they lag and micro freeze and tablet feels very hot since it goes up to around 40c and stays there, i never had heat problems even playing games like dead trigger 2 etc before so why now ? stupid update.. battery drain is like 2 hours if it goes from 100% to 90% if i check battery stats, im gonna downgrade back to 4.42 there was nothing wrong in that version never any heat or battery problems over a year.
