I saw a pig flying in Hell during a blizzard, which reminded me...
I second what dude in the comment above is saying... I, being the genius I am... not, OTA'd 5.0.0 LP, prior to realizing that Verizon Wireless *hates letting people have the freedom to root their phones...
*(since they maliciously "locked the bootloader", if I remember correctly/used the right terminology, when they OTA'd 5.0.0 LP, an obvious and blatant violation of the Geneva Convention... Makes me sick... Reminiscent of/equivalent, in the cell phone rooting community, to a "They killed Kenny! Those Bastards!" moment... May the Flying Spaghetti Monster have no pitying on their immor(t)al [soulless] souls... And neither Parmesan Cheese NOR Oregano... IN ADDITION TO ABSOLUTELY NOOO access to the Beer Volcano & Striper Factory for AT LEAST one eternity, if they have good behavior and do some voluntary community service to repent for their grevious sins against mankind & FBI-trained, hyperintellegent, majestic dolphins that are dissatisfied with the default cell phone operating systems and are outraged about this entire situation, to the point that they're on the verge of declaring War(f), so we may aTUNA ["atone"... Phish-pun... LOLF... lots of laughing fish] for our transgressions... Errr, actually, come up think of it, since Verizon Wireless is obviously of the *Muslim faith [*the Western-ized "every Muslim is an America/freedom hating extremist terrorizer" type of Muslim, of course], may all their "40 Virgins" waiting for them after their [metaphorical] suicide bombing-induced death [root-restricting], be [literal] fellow fat, sweaty, hairy men/extremists [anti-cell phone rooting, freedom haters]... But I digest... Err, and "digress"...)
I (for some strange reason, possible having something to do with Obama...) was under the impression 4.4.4 was rootable since many, many moons ago (last year sometime) AND that Verizon Wireless hadn't ducked up the bootloader (by locking it) till they OTA'd 5.0.0 LP? Is this not the case? And also (somewhat dependant on the answer to the previous questions) was/is 4.4.4 "non-rootable" for the same reason 5.0.0 isn't?
I totally agree that, if a root is ever found/achieved without prior root (which is annoying as duck when people suggest "having a prior root" as a solution to rooting a OTA'd 5.0.0 LP VW GN3... yet they NEVER let you borrow their time machine... Cleaver assholes...) , it should be compatible/usable on OTA 5.0.0 LP... Otherwise, someone would need to find a way to "downgrade" to 4.4.4 (or lower)... That's not possible currently, right? It would seem to me that if a root is found, it might mean that downgrading is a possibility (since, I would think, that the problem preventing a successful root/making it near impossible, would first need to be solved in order to make a successful root, or am I WAY OFF BASE?)...
