Might be annoying but more like feature. Have you tried different themes as @WarCow mentioned or different home launchers? As @thecrunked taught Xposed with right module could fix this.

With unlocked bootloader yes. With locked bootloader maybe. Problem here is that you have to find a way to kill Sony ric when your device boot. Dualrecovery do it for you by installing busybox and @[NUT]´s disable ric script wich needs busybox to work. Here is the link for flashable script to disable ric if you are interested:

So with locked bootloader you basicly need to push those files (busybox + script) to system partition without write acces to system. Maybe possible with ADB. Or you may found another way to kill Sony ric. With Sony Lollipop there is also problem with SELinux wich is the cause we don´t have custom recovery for locked bootloader at moment. It doesn´t influence to system r/w though. Let see if @[NUT] found solution to this.

As my bro @MJFox78 said there is xposed for Lollipop. It is alpha version and there might be problems with it. First one is how to install it without custom recovery. With locked bootloader it can be done by flashing it right after you have flashed prerooted firmware but before you boot your device first time. There are some report saying it´s working and some it isn´t. Someone report that it works only if you wipe dalvik cache on every boot. With unlocked bootloader it most likely is much easier. At the moment it might be good idea to wait that xposed is developed further and we have working recovery for locked bootloader unless you are not afraid of hickups.
Is there anyway to push a working Recovery? I flashed the original Rom and it'd be easier than starting from scratch... My bootloader is unlocked

I'm Exactly! in the same position.

Trying to simply keep the Stock ROM, with a Custom Recovery either TWRP or Clockwork, but the Recovery doesn't stay for some reason, even after a successful flash with
fastboot flash recovery "image file name"
:(

Yup, exactly the same issue here :p As far as i can tell, the recovery gets overwritten by some Sony stuff. I read about an old trick from the Kitkat days, where you could keep flashing the recovery and you'd get lucky and it "stuck", at least for one boot. But so far no luck with that.

Just need to wait for a work-around or that dual-booting thing gets updated.

Edit: Wait so Dual Recovery still not working?...

Also, is it safe to push this on Z2 tab? http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/mod-button-recent-panel-t3057345

We have working dualrecovery again thanks to @zxz0O0 .
You need to download the fix from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59879026#post59879026
Unzip byeselinux.zip file to your pc.
Connect your device to pc with usb debugging on and run bye.bat script.
Your device should reboot and you have working dualrecovery back.
I will update prerooted firmware when @[NUT] add this to his next version of dualrecovery.

No need for this anymore.

Awesome stuff @kulvertti, I'm running a Z2 tab in UK and it's currently on pre-rooted 4.4.4 firmware on locked bootloader. Would it be possible for me to just flash the pre-rooted 5.0.2 firmware over it in recovery?

Thanks and yes if you have compatible device (SGP511 or most likely SGP512, branding don't matter).

Okay thought so, however my bootloader is still locked. So I guess I will have to way for the DualRecovery to be updated before I can flash this zip.

This work just fine with locked bootloader. Follow the instructions on op and after that on post #47 and you end up to rooted Lollipop with working dualrecovery.

Version 2.85 don't work properly so I haven't yet. I wait until it is fixed.
But if you look to post #47 we have working recovery with included dualrecovery (2.83) and separate script file.

Any Chance to get a prerooted DE localised?
I don´t see much to achieve with making different branding version for SGP511 because only difference would be different bloatware. But sure if you want one I can make it for you. What is your device customization version (CDA)?

Will i lose TWRP Fota after only installing ROM?
Go to your device build.prop file in system folder and find line ro.semc.version.cust and tell me numbers there or go to your device service menu/service info/software info and find Customization Version -line and tell me numbers there.
Your TWRP Fota is part of which kernel? This is stock Sony firmware with root and custom recovery. It won´t boot with other than stock kernel or stock based kernel.

I did a complete Wipe and installed the Image from this Thread. Everything ok BUT there is absolutely no way to enter any Recovery now. LED is red at Boot and pressing Volume down nothing happens now only System Boot.

Before i have installed TWRP with Rashr directly to FOTA under CM12.
