I'd given up all hope of wifi tether on my rooted Sprint LG G3 with Lollipop until I followed the mind-bogglingly easy instructions in the video. As soon as I saved the changes and went to my settings to turn on the hotspot, it worked perfectly with no Sprint messages. Thank you thank you thank you!

Does this APN hack work for Sprint LG G3 lollipop 5.01? It does not work for me. I followed the video and saved the apn.

I'm having the same trouble (Sprint LG G3 Lollipop 5.0.1). I can enable the hotspot and connect to it, but my computer says there's no Internet connection when connected to it (a little yellow exclamation symbol pops up). Has anyone found a solution for this?

i have the same problem, when i use my hotspot with 3g connexion it works, when switch to 4g connexion it get connected but says no internet acces

Found a fix for my NOTE 4 5.0.1

After looking through a few forums i put two methods together and BAM

SPEC: 910T on 5.0.1 (CF AUTO ROOTED)

WIFI TETHER SETTINGS:
1. wifi channel: 1
2. interface: wlan0
3. method: 3 HostApd
4. no firmware reload: UNCHECKED
5. drivers: nl80211
6. wifi mode: G
7. prevents standby: CHECKED
8. MTU adjust: UNCHECKED
9. HostApd Patch: CHECKED

Finally leave everything else below UNCHECKED ***EXCEPT**

10. No Disable WiFi: CHECKED

REMEMBER TO HAVE YOUR APN SETTINGS CORRECT: Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Click on your APN you setup and make sure your APN type is: default,mms,supl,hipri,fota

This fixed my issue with crappy WiFi speeds

WIFI Tether Router

I've used this application for the past 4 or 5 years, and had zero problems until Samsung updated by phone to Lolipop 5.1.1. In order to get the Wifi Tether App working properly, I installed a custom ROM (cyanogen mod nightly) with GAPPS, and after tweeking the application's setting to work with a custom ROM, the application works perfectly.

Interface wlan0
Method 2
Channel 1
Encryption wpa2-psk
"No Firmware Reload" <- UNCHECKED
"Run Service As User" <- CHECKED

Is this working for you? I was using wifi tether on 4.4 with no problems. On 5.0.1 i cant get to work. I have triedboth sets of recommended settings.

if you have root access download this one app that is called shortcut master lite then search apn then look for apn vzw settings then click on the one that is on the top then go down to apn type then default,mms,dun then hold your resents button then save your hotspot should now work if you have LTE connectivity
